@albemarleZane I know a guy who sold his soul to Lucifer at the crossroads to play the jaw harp the best ever. He can go pwoing pwoing pwoing like no one on Earth. The women throw themselves etc blah
People, I have an album called Rare Hendrix. This is the second track on the album and it's called "Voice in the Wind." I'm sure there are albums where it's called "Voices in the Wind", but don't knock the uploader and get all technical. There are many non-studio albums with Hendrix on the cover, and whether or not the titles of the songs are right, you know for sure it's him playing. So shut the fuck up.
This track is a historical gem. The very beginnings of "psychedelic blues". It sounds like one of the influences for "Voodoo Chile" jam with Stevie Winwood and Dave Mason from Traffic on Electric Ladyland????
@GiantDousch It first appeared on the Rare Hendrix LP in 1971 and has since been recycled on countless albums and CDs, sometimes under the title "Voices".
This track has been released on various albums - I have it on an old vinyl and it is called Voice in the Wind" and the album is just called "Jimi". Think I bought it in 1970.
I love that I kind find Hendrix song that I've never heard before pretty much on a day to day basis. I think hendrix was purposely murdered because someone realized that he was changing music and people idolized him and for me personally consider him a god. We were graced with his life and thanks to technology we have forever his music, his soul! Thank you Jimi
@wolfsblood07 its jimi hendrix alright man that guitar technique has never been duplicated to that extend he invented those double bends 1 note up at that time it was not common to bend that much its jimi hendrix all right check out let the good times roll you can hear him sing on this same day recorded with those guys
@blackdude57 A lot of people including Lonnie Youngblood said it's not Jimi playing. It could be a session guitarist imitating Jimi's style. Jimi did play with Lonnie on some tracks.
I was looking up Native American Indian and this pop up, I forgot he was part indian. The 2 white or Light skins guys look nice with their afros COOL! and being mix is not a bad thing it's just as normal as slice bread.
@MsCuriousCat It's only claimed that Hendix' great grandmother on his father's side was a Cherokee, never seen any evidence to support this. Interesting that many Cherokee were slave owners at one time.
i actually owned this record. i stumbled across it at a local mom & pop record store in town and only because it looked to be something of a rarity, i picked it up and was graced with this awe-inspiring tune. since then, i've lost it. but just to know that i can always come to youtube and find it when i get the urge is a beautiful thing. thank you immensely. from a true music enthusiast.
this is NOT the Jimi Hendrix Experience. This can be found on an album called "Free Spirit". Personnel: Jimi Hendrix (guitar) Lonnie Youngblood (saxophone, vocals) Herman Hitson (guitar) Lee Moses (bass). Recorded at Abtone Studios NY, 1966. This was before the Experience, when Hendrix was struggling to make a name of himself. Please change the title as it isn't correct. While this is not the Experience, it is still interesting to hear a not yet famous Hendrix.
@sproutle are you shitting the distintive hendrix guitar style is never to be equaled around this earth man thats hendrix struggling with his patented guitar style man cant you recognize the bends man ?? he invented them
ı had an album bu Pıckwıck records from 1978 where thıs song was the last song on sıde 1 and ıt was called "Voıce ın the Wınd"

This was the phase in Jimi's life right before he sold his soul to the devil. After that he got exponentially better. :)
