  • 5 of the people sliped of the cleaned floor

  • When was this in it?

  • When is this in the movie? I can't seem to remember it. Amazing song though!

  • @btothearbie It's not in the movie. It's in the end credits of "Tales of the Black Freighter."

  • @DoctorPloppers ... er, is this relevant, or is it just spam?

  • Pirate Jack

    Pirate Elizabeth

    Pirate Will

    Dread Pirate Roberts

  • @qwertyuiop298 Capitain Jack Sparrow

  • I really liked this song when I first heard it. Since only so much of it played after "Black Freighter," I looked it up to hear the rest. Really impressed with what I got.

PS: When I listen to this, I think of "A Rose for Emily."

  • @ProjectSWOLENESS you're less significant then your mom's buttplug

  • @sirklondike303 ....but not as tasty

  • Eerily dark, represents the book within the book quite well.

  • I don't remember this playing in Watchemn, which scene was it in?

  • Woohoo! Bertold Brecht and Watchmen combined! This made my day!!!

  • THE BLACK FREIGHTER

Delirious, I saw that well-bound ship's black sails against the yellow indies sky, and knew again the stench of powder, and men's brains, and war. The heads nailed to its prow looked down, those with eyes; gull-etean; salt-caked' liplessly mouthing, "No use! All's lost!" The waves about me were scarlet foaming, horrible warm, et still the freighter's hideous crew called out, " More blood! More blood!".

  • This is music?

    lol

  • Classic!

  • got 'Tales of the Black Freighter' through the post today from Play.com brilliant. very much enjoyed the mocumentry 'Under the Hood'.

it all adds to the richness of this parallel world...

this song is so poigniant when you pair it with the animation. well done to all involved

  • @SimonB198207

My little sister hasn't seen watchmen, and when I was watching the Under the Hood special, she thought it was a real program from the 80's, I had her going for ten minutes before she figured it out

  • @Akirasmoo162 : )

  • which part of the movie this was playing at

  • @deathbunny32: it's brilliant in german, just imagine: i heard rumours, that there might be a couple of other languages existing besides of english... AND that some people are even able to understand/speak more than one of them...

(god beware us from being some kind of educated...)

and to the spanish-stuff: jenny is not supposed to speak flawless english.

    @MissStrangeAttractor: best comment ever!!!

best version of Seeräuber Jenny: Hildegard Knef. she's simply a goddess.

  • I can't believe they made this stupid thing in German and French, but not in English. It's so goddamn weird to watch a really good musical in a foreign language.

  • @deathbunny32 I know, right? How dare those people write in their own language, instead of English...

  • @MissStrangeAttractor

It's set in England. I understand that it is going to be in German, but to then translate it into French and only French and not English just seems odd. It's like a play set in France made by Americans that is translated into Spanish aside from the original English, but nothing else.

  • Epic song...

  • in wich part of the movie was this in?

  • Comment removed

  • @ninjaman1178 LOL I REMOVED MY OWN COMMENT

  • im not sure but i think it has something to do with the comic in watchmen called the Tales of the Black Freighter

  • Nope, it's a cover from "The Three Penny Opera" by Brecht which was written in 1928. The same opera that inspired Bob Dylan to write "It's all right Ma"

  • @88976hi Close-it's the other way around.

The name of the ship "Black freighter" was taken from this song

  • all i can say is........this is a masterpiece

  • this is the best song ever......only reason i found it was because i was searching for pruitt igoe on itunes. ( turns out that wasnt the version of pruitt igoe i know)

  • None of you seem to understand. I'm not locked in here with you. You're locked in here with ME!

  • When was this in the movie??

  • @InnerVenom123

Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter

  • @InnerVenom123 yeah some of these songs I dont think where in the movie

  • @ninjaman1178 not really, i think parts of the song were, but not all of them...

  • @ninjaman1178 this was at the end of tales of the black freighter

  • @ninjaman1178 It has to do with the book...

  • @wtfismycar Hey retard that was 9 months ago I've already read the book and seen the movie. I know the comic book the kid is reading during the book is Tails Of The Black Freighter, and they made a animation of the comic book the kid is reading and this song is in it. So shut the f*** up

Meine Herren, heute sehen Sie mich Gläser abwaschen

  • 2

Man sagt: Geh, wisch deine Gläser, mein Kind

  • 3

  • I love the song, the instruments and slightly stephonic feel make it seem like such an old and mysterious recording, and her voice is incredible and chilling!

  • I like this song, but where was this in the movie?

  • In the animation "Tales of the Black Freighter"

  • briliantly terrifying and amazing

  • Love TPO. Great rendition. Love Nina.

  • I love love Tom waits but his voices sounds like he swallows glass chases it with whiskey and a smoke, but it works for him. She has a deep voice but not gravelly.

  • when does this play in the movie

  • Credits

  • Its in the Black friegter animated cartoon thats seperate from the regular version....it was pretty good, and ver profound during the second viewing. So much to the story than just some miserable man

  • Absolutely thrillingly amazingly awesome. Check that alliteration. =P

  • wondering, where was this song in the watchmen?

  • it's not in watchmen, its in a second film called "Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter"

you see in the original book there were large parts that were exerts from a comic one of the side characters was reading, and rather than lengthen out an already long movie, they made another film, an anime, which was the comic books plot only

this is the credit song to that film

  • Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, and I mean that in the best possible way.

  • i totally know what you mean.

  • Fucking sick

  • What´s fucking sick?
