I doubt it. It's his job to keep things moving and make sure both the performers and the audience know what's going on. Sometimes that'll mean stating the obvious or asking a seemingly silly question. I expect the performers are all professional enough to know that. Of course, that never stopped some of the rowdier players (Paul, Greg, Tony) from giving Clive a hard time about it. ;)

Clive Anderson basically invented this show.

I must admit to having to get used to Drew as the host, I was just too used to Clive. Now I miss Drew's hysterical cackling...but the Greg/Clive and the Tony/Clive give and take are just as good.
