  • I saw this puzzle also, i'm like...WHAT...can they do that?

  • This was the second-round puzzle tonight!

  • @simpsonsfan2007 I know! i thought it was hilarious when they re-used it

  • Thumbs up if you obviously knew the damn puzzle before she asked for the wrong letter.

  • Pelo jeito é de 1985 esse show

  • The way I remembered this puzzle going down was the woman solving it and actually saying "The thrill of history...", but I guess I remember it wrong. I am 34 now, but this thing is one of those moments that stuck in my head for decades.

  • She had to have been thinking "history."

  • I wonder if Terry has seen this episode here and has looked back at how totally stupid she was for losing all that money? Probably has to be the most suspenseful and exciting Wheel of Fortune clip on YouTube. And do I feel sorry for her, no. The greedy bitch got just what she deserved. Either that or she really was that stupid.

  • I watched this episode when it first aired. For years I've told people about it. I'm glad that I can now show this video to people I know, to prove that it really happened. It's one of the most surreal moments in game-show history.

  • The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat, and the irony of the puzzle title :D

  • Wait a minute i thought they were using the US version of Changing Keys at this time. Good to know!

  • I saw the Agony of Defeat round when it was broadcast and remember it still. You can't invent this stuff: an amazing run spoiled by the most common consonant in the English language--leading to a puzzle solution that defined the whole episode.

  • This puzzle defines irony

  • Ouch...that is painful as all hell.

  • That woman who keeps chosing to spin the wheel is kinda hot.

  • The last two lines of the puzzle were fully revealed. How many quotes end with "....and the agony of defeat?"

    Idiot

  • "$49,000 just waiting to be won..." *Contestant almost earns $62,400* ...What would have happened?

  • @roflcoptersoysoy - The opening was from a different episode, which aired 2 years before the "Agony of Defeat" one.

  • That dress in the opening...Vanna, go clean my house!

  • EPIC fail!!!

  • Do you have the Speed-up Round where she loses $10000 more for a total of $72400? That makes me cry to see anyone lose that much money, especially in 1985!

  • the opening sequence from 1983 and the victory moment from 1985 obviously

  • WHY didn't she call an L???????????????? Terry, how stupid are you. You obviously can't pick out a matching skirt and top!

  • One can only imagine how long she'd have taken to shop away $62,400... was there even that much stuff in that area of the stage?

  • 4:16 Pat Sajak's voice!

  • Could you post the entire episodes to these clips?

  • From the Color Bars to the end of the "Victory" clip is all I have, nothing was edited, this was a straight rip and all I added was the watermark

  • At 5:22 The Party was over.

  • So let me get this straight... all those right letters she got before the 'S' were LUCKY GUESSES?

  • No trader YOU know...

  • The got Vanna dressed like a '50s housewife in that first half... lol...

  • How dumb is that Terry woman? lol

  • Back when a $7,000 car was impressive. :)
