You're correct regarding the clasp...my wife has the new Explorer 39mm and within a month it was scratched up big time (Much to my OCD displeasure), lol!

I'm a Rolex nut too. My daily wear is a Submariner and occasionally I'll get someone who notices it and comments. I wore my Milgauss in a couple of videos because my Sub was in for its annual service and no one has mentioned it yet. :) My next one is an Explorer. I really like the non-cyclops models. Nice watch!

congrats on your new purchase! you don't hesitate to pull the trigger on toys! i wear a gmt master II i got back in 2005 for 3,600. had it serviced about 3 years ago for 500 shmakers at RSC but came back like brand new! Enjoy!

The white face does look fantastic. Being a pilot, I like the 24 hour GMT hand. I've been wearing my original black face Explorer since 1975. Love it. Cool the way you moved the light at the end of the vid.

@snareman95 Lol the sock review was pretty good. I thought about getting some of those 5.11 socks but once I saw the price I forgot about them. But now that I saw your review and you said they lasted a very long time, I'm reconsidering.

@TheStig000 They are indeed expensive and I still have a little trouble with the price, but overall I've found that you get what you pay for with fit, comfort and longevity when I can get myself to shell out the money for them.

@snareman95 That's true, I have yet to be disappointed with 5.11 quality, but the full retail price is still a bit high for some of their stuff. That's why I watch the LA Policegear closeout section like a hawk.

Wow that crystal stands up from the bezel quite a bit. I'd be worried about chipping it.

@TheStig000 Its made of sapphire, or at least synthetic sapphire so it shouldn't be a problem. Never had a problem with any of my other watches.

@snareman95 - I haven't either, but keep in mind sapphire (synthetic or otherwise) has great scratch resistance, but can still be chipped or cracked like mineral glass.

I actually like this look. I never understood the appeal of the Explorer though, I'd rather have a Submariner or other dive watch. I do like that white dial with black accents though! So cool.

@TheStig000 Yea, I didn't really care for the old Exp II and ended up getting a Sub, but always wanted a white dial. So when they came out with this in 42mm I thought it was a much better size from the previous model.

@snareman95 It's a beautiful watch. I love how you can change the hours without interrupting other hands. This looks like a perfect watch for someone that flies a lot, I know I would take it on all of my vacations.
