@foolmoi We had many great plans, one specifically to seek aid, or possibly full aid from the Japanese, with a conniving japanese navy captain, unfortunately, 3 months after, that was when the katipunan was uncovered, and things went to hell real quick, for both sides. But yes, it would've been great timing right after the mexicans, however I heard Cuba was revolting near the same time we were too. Haha, the spanish empire fails utterly

Actually, Bonifacio's revolution in Manila failed. Survivors of his Katipunan in Manila fled to Cavite where the Caviteño armies were winning against the Spanish. Bonifacio tried to assert himself in Cavite as the Supremo but the Caviteños considered their revolt in Cavite separate from the failed Bonifacio fiasco in Manila. That is why he was executed for treason. Bonifacio was invited to Cavite to mediate between the Magdalo and Magdiwang, not to act as Supremo.

Aguinaldo - had a weak character and consumed by regionalism. Lost Manila due to his kiss-ass policy towards Americans. Had Antonio Luna, his only abled general, assasinated.

Gregorio del Pilar - Got drunk in fiestas and did nothing to prepare for the defense of Pangasinan. The Filipino Army was annahilated there.

Interesting read. I love this Nick Joaquin guy. He also wrote Manila My Manila.
