They were brutally murdered in three groups in 1940. @290948kenwong In relation to the Poles, the Polish Officer corp, some 22.000, coupled with numerous anti-communist Poles which Stalin's NKVD butchers had captured after occupying the eastern portion of Poland. They were brutally murdered in three groups in 1940. Stalin attempted to blame the Nazis for this slaughter, and at the time many believed it was the Nazi SS who mass murdered the Poles, which of course they were busy doing in Western Poland, after invading in September of 1939.

When the Allies landed in France 75% of the Wehrmacht was deployed on the Eastern front. The Americans could never have sustained the casualties the Red Army did. The Russians suffered more casualties at Stalingrad & Kursk than American & British Empire forces did in the entire war. In fairness to the British though they did stand alone against the Nazis after the fall of France.

No one had any rights no matter which side. My father was at Dunkirk, his brother was killed in Libya in 1943. It's a fact of life, even today, soldiers do as they are told, in WW2 they didn't even volunteer, they were conscripted, and died for idealogy.

These lands would have been occupied by Germans otherwise. It is worth to mention, that commies used their chance to revenge 1920 aggression by Poland. I highly doubt about applicability of term"enslaving" to commies regime, compared to Germans. Baltics - yes, I forgot this side show. Poles murdered in early 1920 in concentration camps.

It wa done to have German-Russian border several hundred kilometers to the west. Ortherwise Moscow could have felt in 1941. Finns were highly unfriendly towards USSR so Stalin seeking to protect Leningrad attempted to re-negotiate the borders, offering compensation. He feared, that Finnish territory could be used by others for rapid assault on Leningrad. 2nd war was initiated by Finns, not Russia.

@PskovIsKool I am German from German parents. My father was in the Hitlerjugend and my grandad served in 1st SS Division Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler. I can trace my ancestry 300 years back to Konigsberg in East Prussia from my fathers side and my mothers to a little village called Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the Bavarian Alps. Im just working for a German company here in England.

Vikings mainly from Sweden during the 8th-10th centuries created a trade root to Constantinople and founded settlements which flourished into cities such as Kiev. In addition late in the middle ages Germans settled in the region as far as Crimea. Therefore there is a strong Aryan foothold in the Ukraine. Russians as all Slavs come from east of the Urals.
