Heh, I do know that this trojan called Trojan.PSPBrick can delete 4 system files required to start up the PSP. there was something about a TIFF being able to brick the PSP.
Your psp won't brick unless u have the trojan virus on the memory stick. The tiff exploit doesn't brick your psp alone. Btw, i believe that virus deletes 3 files, not 4. I'm not sure about it though.
tiff exploits were mainly put into this world for hacking a psp without a pandora like chickHEN, it installs psp firmware chickHEN on your psp so u can run homebrew.
