she is a smart women with ability to justify her own stupidity. Why, oh why being obese is something she portrays as poetic as she only can? I would't dare to question bad habits of those people who bring it's welfare into question by overeating, I feel sorry for it's loved ones as they will lose them before it's time.
@lamestguyintown Shut up, she was born with a golden spoon in her mouth considering her father was chancellor of the exchequer and her mother a socialite, and has turned out a very domestic and charming, and normal woman, who doesn't come across conceited or egotistical. She is intelligent and has become a very succesful journalist, so your notion of her education being wasted is futile as most degrees cannot definitley give you a succesful job no matter the university.
I'm in love with her. She is so beautiful and intelligent, really unasuming at first but the more you see of her and the more she speaks the more complex, elegant, beautiful and beguiling she becomes.
if you've seen her own show and compared to this interview for example the parkinson interview, where she was really relaxed and babbling along as we know and love her...this interview was very stiff and cold... her crossed arms for example, people make that gesture unconcious if they feel uncomfortable with the person they're talking to.
but i think he started the interview quite offensive, so i don't blame her ;)
I like Nigella... but I can see why she is the size she is. I mean what is with her last statement.... when she sees someone grossly overweight,... she doesn't think how hideous they look but how delicious it must tasted have been to get that big?
I'm sorry.... people that are that size aren't fat from eating delicious meals.... they eat junk food or food high in fat... and are generally too lazy to exercise. There is nothing "delicious" about that.
@frankmat You're exactly right and that's such an important distinction. I eat plenty of salads and savor every mouthful of it. Fresh, ripe peaches and berries are incredible. The difference is those things will never make you morbidly obese.
@frankmat (CON'T) And that brings me to another point: eating smaller portions doesn't make the food any less delicious. It's actually a fact that the first three bites of anything taste the best. I don't understand people. You don't HAVE to eat huge amounts of things to enjoy them. If you want to make the pleasurable experience last longer, eat more slowly.
His first question was sexual and then he followed it up with a sleazy quip about it being too early in the interview for Nigella to be turning him down for sex (effectively).

Still she's medically considered obese and her diet is very unhealthy, it's simply too much and too much sugar and starches, butter etc. The more your start to eat the more you want to eat. That's a fact. She;s a beautiful female though, no offence. But in some shots you can see her bulged up stomach and flabby skin, it says enough for me..
I'm glad he has stopped his show... I saw this interview because I think she is wonderful but you can tell by her body language that he is kind of annoying her... or something ... anyway he is always trying to get people to cry or something (in another part of this interview he tries to get her to talk about sad things)... Anyway I just didn't care for his interviewing style.
Interesting interview which brings out a number of issues that others are afraid to address. I do not agree with America being founded by the poor. It was the British bankers that went to America to get the gold and establish the law. They were not poor at all. The slaves were brought in by the bankers.
The non-food, I think she means genetically engineered food which is one of the main causes of cancer.
The fat people issue...those people are like that and the interviewer is right.
For one to enjoy good food, the food has to look good, smell good, and taste good. The same goes for the "pleasures of the flash". Your lover has to possess these 3 qualities, otherwise, one goes on a diet, LOL.
I love Nigella's cooking show because its very relaxing to watch, as well as inspiring.
I really like and appreciate her philosophy of food and her outlook on eating in general. Enjoy your food, within reason, be happy with yourself, and not worry so much about being thin and fashionable. I also like her idea about people who enjoy food enjoy sex...that makes sense to me since both are about enjoying the pleasures of the senses. And of course it has to be said...I just plain idolize Nigella! When I grow up, I want to be her. :)
Her intelligence is what makes her so much more appealing
