It is the year of the pitcher all over again cuz the pitcher. the hitters are having no hitters because the steroid era is gone so the home run is not hit as much this year example jose bautista as the AL home run leader who ever expected that? also arod only has like 15 home runs till the end of july he hits his 15th homer usually around the end of may so yes the steroid era is gone because baseball got stricter. Also it was armando galarraga who got robbed of his perfect game nt andres galarra

Nah you shouldn't compare Dallas Braden with Matt Garza. Garza has something all of those pitchers don't have. An ALCS/NLCS MVP award. Garza has had games that he could have thrown a no-hitter but once that first hit came (In the 7th or 8th) he just gets really flared up. Comparing Garza to any of those pitchers (Except the Doc of course) is out of this world. Still great video!

yeah the hitting sucks. the game bradon won against the rays was luck. the rays were in first at that point. it was just a bad hitting day.

Steroids are some of the reason. That and the fact that times have changed when it comes to the game of baseball. Organizations are going back to basics of building teams based off pitching, defense and speed. There used to be a time where a pitching rotation had 1 or maybe 2 aces. Now good staffs have 4 guys throwing over 95 MPH fast balls. That explains a lot when it comes to the decline of hitting this year. Good vid

Me being a HUGE defensive player, i kind of been waiting all mine life for this.. Im 23.. so i like this.. Back in the OLD DAY, Pitching was the shit... but for the past 20-25 years everybody was smaking Homers and I guess people got used to it... but now, that pitching is back to where it was used to 30-35 years ago, it will take some time to get used to..

Also there are pitchers most people have never heard of that throw 95 miles per hour. Teams are over drafting pitchers because it's turning into the ERA of the Pitcher.. (Lol see what I did there? ERA.. :P) It's also coincidence mostly, Most of these pitchers that get these have good stuff, but don't always use it correctly. Dallas Braden and Jackson were just bad hitting, The rays shouldn't of had swung at half of those pitches.

But the Dallas Braden and Jackson no-hitters were just the rays fault. In Jackson, they left like 9 hitters on base from walks..NINE hitters, bases loaded no outs, can't even manage a run? That was also bad management to let a pitcher stay for 150 pitches, that's throwing about a game and a half, so he may of gotten a no-hitter big deal, you're still a last place team and history should be the last thing on your mind

In a sense, it's really both. For a no-hitter or a perfecto to occur, you need good pitching, and off-beat hitting. Most of these no hitters have been because of lazy hitting and the hitters and hitting lazy grounders and lazy pop flies. Also, the speed of the pitchers can be somewhat important, but when you are pounding the zone, or getting the hitters to chase, that's gonna result in a lot of grounders or pop flies
