The one thing I've noticed about Justin King is that he tends to play his songs much faster live than his recordings. I think the whole aspect of him being an entertainer and tending to be a "visual" player and his music sounding like noise might be attributed to that fact. He has much more energy and speed in his songs to breathe more life into them for the crowd. But when you listen to those same songs in their recorded form, they tend to sound much more put togethe.

although this guy plays that tapping style like Michael hedges, he plays a more visual guitar style. For example close your eyes while playing this, take away your bias' and see if you like how it sounds. I think it's just a bunch of noise. He needs to make more songs like "crown" instead of this fast playing style for "show".

I listened to this on mp3 for the first time and I was very surprised because it looked like folk/celtic music, maybe there is less sweet emotion than in crown but it still has rought emotion. And with all the very good musics he had composed I think he can let it go and play some "visual" and "impressive" musics sometimes ;). With respect man

i kind of agree. but i think he's aiming more on the entertainment side,i think he's focused more on what people are seeing when he plays some of his songs,which i dont think is a bad thing btw,after all,he is an entertainer.

I agree. I don't doubt the guy's skills,-he's amazing, but I'm much more impressed by Trace Bundy and Andy Mckee and such... guys who play with feeling and put their souls into it.

It's like comparing Eddie Van Halen to Stevie Ray Vaughan. Both incredible players, but SRV just seems to have put more of his heart into it.

Yeah I agree with you, I think that Andy Mckee or Antoine Dufour are more emotional than him when the play.

In my opinion I think there are not enought real "songs" of Justin King, in wich people can hear is voice. For example "Something about Angels" or "For jordan" with the piano parts.

People still get fixed on his tapping skills instead of beeing interested in his emotional talent. That's why they put more impressive video. It's my opinion ;).

King plays more with heart in his singing songs. The guy has skills true. He showcases it when he plays solo true. But when he plays with his group....he tones down his crazy skills but puts more heart into his lyrics and rhythms. Therefore I think it is unfair to say he doesn't play with heart...because he does, just in a less visual/impressice way.

I only think he plays them faster live because he can or to practice, Because i know that when i play Justin king stuff i ply it faster each time just because i am gradually getting better at playing it.Like getting better at the technique. I think Justin kings Le bleu album has a lot of heart except for the tapping songs.

I remember seeing him play paris morning he was so into it, very into himself playing and added emphasis on notes more.
