My video begins with actual footage of a real U.F.O. My videos are not for the mainstream public! Normal folks "need not apply!" All of you A.B. Normal, strange weirdos will feel right at home here! Only a few individuals have deciphered the real meaning and warning hidden in the subliminal message. The Glirkazoids want you to trust them. They want you to come to accept them! They want to serve mankind!
LMAO the best part was DOLPHINS AND ALIENS. Great review, I loved the film. I totally agree that you must watch it in theaters, and understand what you mean by "having to turn your brain off but you should't have to." Yeah, I get that
I really liked this movie. But then again, I'm a sucker for a western. I agree that the alien part of the movie was kind of crap, but the cowboy aspect was really well done IMO. Craig and Ford were very believable in their roles, but for some reason I think Craig was having trouble doing a western accent. It also caught the "Iron Man 2 syndrome" where not much happens in the middle.
I completely agree with you Harloff. I was sitting there enjoying it, but i kept feeling like i wanted so much more, and that it could BE more. The beginning was the best part definitely. Then, as it progressed there were a couple plot holes here and there, and I just didn't feel the gravity of the climax toward the end. Don't get me wrong, there were some parts where I was thinking, "Hey this is pretty cool", but I just felt a bit disappointed by the time it ended. Just my opinion.
I went to see cowboys and aliens and that is what I got so I am not complaining but only one blogger/reviewer gave recognition to David O'Hara who rocks! Intense, menacing and real frontier baddie in under 5 minutes of screen time.
that picture of you guys at :11 seconds in always makes me laugh! Can't wait to see this movie, people just need to have fun with this one and not try to pick it a part : P
The long stare; that's what all cowboy movies are essentially about. the long stare, and then build a movie around it. you had eight screenplay writers and this is what they did? how could you have a brilliant first five minutes and then, a. favereau, stick with modern tech, westerns require more grace than hip hp. more love than lust, more kiss than peck on the cheek. I'm just disappointed. I loved the concept, but Favereau and Spielberg got caught up in the block buster fever.
I saw the movie. I enjoyed it for what it was. :) It had some strange twists, but what the heck; I think most guys were too busy jacking off to Olivia Wilde to care.
I agree that it needed a bit more sci-fi. But ah well. What can you do, right? I enjoyed seeing Harrison Ford finally acting again as well.
I agree, I wanted more story; but full points for the other stuff... I dug the aliens, I thought they were better aliens than we've seen lately. I could never dislike either of you guys - great review!
wow quite the difference in reviews....jeremy jahns says its great movie thats alittle low on action and you dont have the turn off your brain to enjoy....stuckman says its action packed. Schmoes say its below par and the aliens are shit, also that u shoud turn of your brain to watch. Well im still gonna see it anyways and hopefully injoy it..(tho saddly i have ta wait till it comes out here...but hey..we just got captain america so i've watch that today ^^)
@xRagma Hey thanks for the insightful comment about the movie, unfortunately we don't think insults belong on the forum. Feel free to disagree and comment but insults don't fly. Thanks man
I was never really fond of the concept. For some reason I can't think of cowboys and aliens together. It's almost like alien v predator: two franchises. Keep them separate. They were good on their own so leave them alone.
and Kristian did the aliens in District 9 bother you voice wise?
@filmfantic51 I guess if it started out mindless I would have understood but it is set up so great in the beginning. They set up mystery and then the payoffs were just a letdown to me but it was fine for what it was I guess
Mark, good Harrison Ford impression. Kristian, good aliens impression. The G.I joke was the funniest of this review. I'll see this tomorrow or Saturday with my Dad.
i dont think i feel up to watching a movie since my grandparent recently passed away
but if i would see this in the future this looks, like you guys said more of a western featuring aliens, and aliens seem all the rage now sooooooo yep
I refuse to see this movie in theatres becaue it has Noah Ring from "The Last Airbender" in it. It's been a year since that movie came out and it was the first review I watched from you guys, I never stopped watching either.
think the worst aliens ever were in Signs. Jeez, they were just 7 foot tall, green, bald human beings. They definitly need to make more original looking aliens. Also, totally random question but have you guys checked out The Inside Experience at all? I think it's an incredibly unique and really fun experiment that Hollywood needs to consider in the future. Eiether one of you played it yet?
i'm looking forward to this movie as a break from the super hero movies. not that i'm expecting alot from a movie that tells me the story in it's title
I've notice alot of people are thinking that Jon Favreau was just like "Hey let's throw Cowboys and Aliens together and make a movie!" when really this movie is based on a graphic novel with the same name.
I hope you guys review Attack The Block! It has a limited opening this weekend. It has original, puppet aliens to go along with a great story and characters. Its my favorite movie of this year.
Harloff, I work in a Retirement home, your not welcome here! lol, the title alone makes it a make -or -break movie, either its the stupidest title you ever heard, or its like, "shit!" thats sounds cool, im for the latter, i want to see it!. Besides, at least its not a freakin reboot! lol, great review schmoes. Back to schmoeville now.

Good review as always. Got a say when I saw the first trailer months ago it was just enough to get me real excited for this film. Unfortunately over the summer Ive seen at least another 4 different trailers each showing more and more footage and now i feel like ive seen the whole movie. So less looking forward and Kristian's got me worried but i'll be seeing it eventually cause I love movies
@schmoesknow Haha, well i'm back and I have to say, I really enjoyed this movie! Sure it was silly but the action and special effects were great! So I thought this was a good, fun action movie. 3.5/5 Schmoes!
Why cant aliens talk like ET did? Seriously hollywood look at the alien legend. haha. Dissaponted when you said they didnt show the aliens do anything that would of been much better
Loved the review! RT has it at 50%but I never trust RT, But there is an exception for the smurfs which is at 0%. The first time RT has a reasonable score. :)
Of course the Aliens lost. They went up against COWBOYS! Seeing it Friday. As far as Aliens on film, maybe going back to the days of Predator-like aliens were more menacing than the tentacle B.S. Hollyweird seems to be obsessed over nowadays. Remember the feeling you got the first time you saw Predator? Awesome Sauce!!
By the way NFL's back on track Football season 'round the corner - GO COWBOYS!!!
i loved the movie 5/5

I'm with Christian on this one. It was fine as a mindless popcorn flick, but I thought it had the potential to be better.
I wonder if the title "Cowboys and Aliens" was meant to lower audiences' expectations going in so they'd end up liking the movie more.

Shut my brain off.... Dislike doing that, but otherwise very much looking forward to watching Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford work together on screen.

I agree with Kristian. Sorry, Hollywood, but, District 9 and Avatar has spoiled us (a good thing) we need more than mindless CGI clusters on screen.

You know, lately Chimp has been using 8s a lot in his ratings of movies. Not a bad thing, just peculiar.
