@Jrhynie ..sorry to hear of yr loss then. i have a confession to make. i used to play with my neighbours basset and found tying his ears in a knot really amusing..he would run in circles and shake his head and get ready for another round...no harm was meant though...
@Jrhynie -- dogs are generally too clever for most humans:) i have had so many in the past, when they pass on, its hard, one feels a deep loss, a friend has gone..then the next one comes , i try to fight it but it never works, they find their way ,they show their affection and gratitude in ways one cannot ignore.
@fme67 Had a Basset 20 years ago but we no longer have the time to look after a large pet. Fish tank or nothing sadly.
She was a lovely dog, highly intelligent but could play the fool if there wasn't a treat on the horizon. A terrible loss when she passed away, very much a family member.
@mszoomy Yeah, it seems like the older she gets, the more grumpy she becomes! I think it's best not to wake her, especially since I don't want to get bit! Haha
total respect to the buddy coming off the couch trying to calm down the situation. epic skills.

@fme67 Absolutely, Bassets are not there for are benefit. Unlike most breeds, they have a mind of their own. Far to clever for humans.
