i now use the 510 , i use a cart with tuffing in it and use the top up method , i almost gave up on these things due to lack of vapour and a mouth full of eliquid everytime till i studied the filter , and worked out the problem . the filter has a small round plastic plate in it half way down . this traps liquid near the filter which screws up the whole thing . drill out or poke the thing out with a small screwdriver , clean out the filter and you will get imense vape and no nasty juices . try
Pull the mesh, fibre and bridge out of the atty, essentially leaving it "naked" aside from the wick at the very bottom. This will increase vapor output by a huge amount on an atty that's past its best :)
@olivermctexas Yeah, it will only extend the life by a few weeks and means you have to drip, but it'll hold you over while replacement attys are in the post or whatever.

@jlynn1031 Go to healthcabin,net (or a U.S based company if you want pay more but receive it faster) and pick up a Joye EGO. There is a regular version with a 510 atty and a cone that covers it, and one that uses a 510 atty/cone combo, and there is one that uses a tank system. I've used all 3 types but I like the regular version and the tank version best. The EGO is all I use anymore. Your problem may be crappy batteries that aren't putting out enough voltage.
@jlynn1031 keep your atties wet, but not too wet. I learn the hard way... if it gets dry it will get hot and bad tasting, but if you put too much it will barely work at all and you have to blow the juice out. Make sure to top off your cartridges here and there and don't use them until they are dry.
@jlynn1031 blow them out and drop like 5 drops to prime it. Then probably add 2 more to get it going. I find that's what I do to get an atty going after I blow it dry with my mouth into a napkin. You don't want it too dry, but it shouldn't damage it. Or you don't want it to flood too much. People think they burn, but those wicks cannot burn or else the metal heating element wouldn't be wrapped around it :P. but old juice tastes gross.

one tip for blowing out an atty, make sure you wipe off the end of the atty that connects to the battery!! or else you'll get a nasty taste and possibly a little stomach ache for a few mins i've done that before haha my starter kit came with 2 atty's so i have a high nic tobacco flavor for daily vaping, and a low nic random flavor for night vaping. i dedicate an atty to each flavor if possible.

Sorry, these are for people 18+ who are already smokers. Getting these for you would come with the same kinds of legal action that supplying a minor with tobacco cigarettes would bring. I started smoking @ 15 years old so I know where you are coming from...my advice now (which I'm sure you don't want to hear) is to quit before this becomes a habit that you cannot get away from. :-)

@CROhomer if you won't be beaten half to death...i'd say if you're still smoking tell your parents and then tell them you've found a safer alternative...they might help you out. @bootsenate20 Yeah, cigarettes are a bitch. The bad thing is that you get addicted to the nicotine but for me...I LOVED to smoke. Vaping has replaced that "need" for me completely. I vape every bit as often as I smoked but after a year of vaping...I'm much happier with my habit as it stands now.

What model do you think produces the best flavors from your e-juice? I am used to my 801 and just recently purchased a joye 510, the vapor is awesome, I love it but the flavors don't seem to be as enjoyable. I have many different tobacco flavors and with the 510 they all seem to taste the same, is it just me?

I love the 801 as well and juices do taste different in the 510. I want to say that when I got my first 510 I felt the same way. Now, I can pick out the flavors pretty easily in the 510. It burns hotter so it changes the flavor. Just give it some time and I think you'll notice a difference.
I think you have the wrong impression of electronic cigarettes. Think of it more like a pipe. You buy the actual device and then you have to buy the e-liquid (like buying pipe tobacco). The e-liquid is much cheaper than buying cigarettes. You may need to buy replacement parts after awhile but by the time you do, it has paid for itself. When the flavor is gone, so is the e-liquid and you will need to add more. I am a heavy e-cig user and I use 2-3 ml of e-juice per day (about $1 per day).
Are you talking about the cartridge? You can refill it or just use it as a mouthpiece if you like to drip directly onto the atomizer. Over time (1-2 weeks) the cartridge will become loose fitting and you will need to replace it. Super T Manufacturing has a great mouthpiece that works with the 510, 901, and 801 models. They are made out of brass so they do tarnish but the work great. Hope I answered your question.
What i've noticed with everyone reviewing e-cigs is that they take accessively long hits. Why is this? Is it because there is more air resistance than regular cigarettes therefore requiring longer, stronger draws? Is it because of the absense of tar that gives cigarettes that heavy feeling in your lungs, that a longer hit on the e-cig make up for or is it for demonstration purposes on video? ie: over compensating the visual aspect to make sure the camera picks up the vapor?
The hits are longer because it is not a tobacco cigarette...you have to hit it much differently. When you hit a tobacco cigarette, you take a short, almost forceful hit. With e-cigs, a heating coil has to heat the nicotine solution to create the vapor and it is a slower process. The key to a good hit is a long and easy hit. If you hit it like a cigarette, you would get e-liquid in your mouth and you would not get a good hit. Small learning curve but after a day or so, you catch on.

Glad they were useful or at least mildly entertaining. Welcome to e-smoking...call it whatever but the term "vapers" has been applied for awhile. Let me know how you like the tobacco flavor. I think you will find that it is almost like a pipe tobacco taste. If you don't like it, give some other flavors a try. Marboro (aka USA mix), RY4, Camel, Coffee, Cappuccino (much sweeter than coffee), and Flue Cured Tobacco are my favorites. Let me know if you have questions.

It is just a lot of "tinkering". I always think about how much time I save not having to run to gas stations and pick up a carton. Worst of all was when you realize that you just smoked your last cigarette, the extra pack you thought you had isn't there and run out and get more! If you look at it that way...it doesn't seem so bad.
Definitely! Funny thing is I have been staying at Marriott hotels which are all non-smoking. I always hated those hotels for that reason but now it isn't even a thought.

Are you talking about the cartridge? You can refill it or just use it as a mouthpiece if you like to drip directly onto the atomizer. Over time (1-2 weeks) the cartridge will become loose fitting and you will need to replace it. Super T Manufacturing has a great mouthpiece that works with the 510, 901, and 801 models. They are made out of brass so they do tarnish but the work great. Hope I answered your question.

What i've noticed with everyone reviewing e-cigs is that they take accessively long hits. Why is this? Is it because there is more air resistance than regular cigarettes therefore requiring longer, stronger draws? Is it because of the absense of tar that gives cigarettes that heavy feeling in your lungs, that a longer hit on the e-cig make up for or is it for demonstration purposes on video? ie: over compensating the visual aspect to make sure the camera picks up the vapor?

The hits are longer because it is not a tobacco cigarette...you have to hit it much differently. When you hit a tobacco cigarette, you take a short, almost forceful hit. With e-cigs, a heating coil has to heat the nicotine solution to create the vapor and it is a slower process. The key to a good hit is a long and easy hit. If you hit it like a cigarette, you would get e-liquid in your mouth and you would not get a good hit. Small learning curve but after a day or so, you catch on.

Glad they were useful or at least mildly entertaining. Welcome to e-smoking...call it whatever but the term "vapers" has been applied for awhile. Let me know how you like the tobacco flavor. I think you will find that it is almost like a pipe tobacco taste. If you don't like it, give some other flavors a try. Marboro (aka USA mix), RY4, Camel, Coffee, Cappuccino (much sweeter than coffee), and Flue Cured Tobacco are my favorites. Let me know if you have questions.

BTW, I had someone else comment about my "job". I actually said that I "should" just review hotel rooms for a living. I actually sit in an office most of the time and try to swim out from underneath paperwork...so I feel your pain! I just hate when I have to travel cause I have 2 young kids and a wife and I don't like being away for days at a time.

Great tips, UB! I know that when I first purchased my 510, I was told to try not to wet the atty and it would last me longer,but she never shared the cleaning part. Now, that i've been vaping for awhile, I see the value of cleaning it out...thanks again for a great vid! keep it up,friend!

1. pour water on atomizer
2. blow from back till sort of dry
3. Take cotton swab
4. Using scissors cut the Swab In half
5.Cut cotton tips on angles (makes 2 points)
6. Place both cotton tips In the atomizer on both sides of metallic center towards hole
7. Blow atomizer from the back
8. Wipe inner walls
9. puff with empty cart till no evaporating (don't over heat)
DONE! you'll get a lot of juice & water

I tried to use a Q-Tip before and it didn't work too well. I didn't think to cut some of the cotton as you described. Thanks for the comment, I'll give it a whirl!

It is just a lot of "tinkering". I always think about how much time I save not having to run to gas stations and pick up a carton. Worst of all was when you realize that you just smoked your last cigarette, the extra pack you thought you had isn't there and run out and get more! If you look at it that way...it doesn't seem so bad.

Definitely! Funny thing is I have been staying at Marriott hotels which are all non-smoking. I always hated those hotels for that reason but now it isn't even a thought.
