  • thanks freddy

    I start in C or Cmaj7/Am7/D7/G7

    then C/C7/F/Fm/D7/G7/Cmaj7

which sort of works but some substitions especially for the F chords include Fm6

but as I say the bridge is just beyond me

  • hi freddy great stuff

you mention These foolish things as a good example

is it possible for you to just write up some chords for the rest of the song particularly the bridge which I find alitte difficult

    many thanks

  • @moelwyntel thx for commenting ! i wish i had time to answer all requests . i would like to help everybody, but i'm just overwhelmed with requests . :-( . maybe i'll do it , but i can't promise anything .

  • How fortunate I am to have stumbled upon your videos just as I have taken an interest in Jazz! You are a wonderful teacher Freddy and I appreciate you making it so enjoyable. All the best!

  • @CaptDan320 i hope the lessons help,and thx for subscribing .

  • your videos are awesome! thank you so much. you are a great teacher.

  • @garcialazara47 thank you ! i hope the lessons help !

  • hey Freddy, I noticed that ur playing that G Dom. 7th chord diff. which sounds really great. whats the finger position on that and the A min chord also.

  • @believin13 hi. please go to my lesson # 5 which is actually my first lesson.i teach all the chords on lesson #5 thru #13 with diagrams

  • Could you point me in the direction of the jazz music that you listen to and reference in some of your videos

  • @Swiftkillah1300 when i was younger i listened to Barney Kessel and joe Pass a lot.there are so many great guitarists to listen to now .

  • i just recently learned the 2,5, 1 and this is the best video i've. thanks freddy.

  • @believin13 thank you for letting me know you like the lesson !

  • @freddym223 no. problem i actually learned from a book with diff. styles and i came across the jazz section and reading the notes and noticed the 2,5,1 progression. then i seen this 1 kid showing the 2, 5, 1. abut 2mo. ago yesterday i came across urs. . i also found other similar progression 3,6,2,5,1. so many but very funn though.

  • Freddy, like how You explain that stuff...had a long break playing the guitar. Watching Your videos bring up the things again in memory....

  • very nice. question: you said we could play the D7 with an add9. Is it a coinsidence that the add9 is the note that makes the difference between the natural and harmonic minor scale in E, while Eminor has the same notes like GMajor? Should it have the same effect like the major7th note has on a minor scale?

    thanks

  • thx IronPump89 ! but i didn't say you could play D7 add9 as that would just be called a D9.at 6:55 i said you could flat the 9. making it a D7b9 which i cover in my other lessons.hope this explains.on a D7 chord,E is the 9th which we can either raise or flatten to alter the chord to get a jazzier sound. E is also the 2nd.check my other lessons

  • @freddym223 hi freddy, i love your videos and lessons. i have a question, on the 1625/ G why does the A flat 13 work as a replacement for the dmin7. thanks.good day.

  • thx rakai1234 ! Ab13 is a substitute for a D7 not a Dm7.i showed that in one of my lessons.

  • @freddym223 thanks for the reply freddy,i really appreciate it.which lesson number is explaining this substitution. thanks again.

  • @rakai1234 it's #7 but k i really don't explain it as it's very deep. i didn't want to get into it. maybe i'll do a lesson on it some time.i try to stay away from theory on stuff like this cause it get's kinda deep!

  • Freddy, thanks again for posting all this good stuff, I like to let you know that I appreciate and enjoy this very much!

  • thanks for letting me know my lessons are helping thunderb4 !

  • You really explained this well.

The 2-5-1 is so importatnt to understand and use.

Like you said the 1-6-2-5 is the basis for so many top tunes.

It is nice to watch your lessons and then think about the patterns. So much better than the standard 1-4-5 progressions.

Nice job with the Chords too. I still have trouble with the G7 in jazz form. My pinky cant quite get there !!!

Keep up the Great Work Amigo !

    -Basement Bob
