Chris worked at Reckless Records in Chicago and is one of the most genuinely nice people I've ever had the pleasure to know. Time marches on - go with it and enjoy the ride.
@TheNewMusicNetwork (Sigh!) Why do you keep bothering? What is your motivation for posting here? Why do you care? Your initials wouldn't happen to be A.J.? Chris has been doing solo records since he was in the Ministry/RevCo camp. His music isn't exactly 'jazz,' but has some jazz inspirations. The influences jump all over the place and even has some harder moments like his new record.
Just so you know, Chris reunited with Paul and Luc for a RevCo tribute back in April, you ass clown.
I still like chris no matter what he does.....way fuking better than Veder and 10x the hard core street cred past so all you scoffers can STFU! ..godbless peace out namaste
I love you Chris. Thank you for not selling out and becoming a parody of your former self, but instead letting creativity drive you into new directions. I loved your book btw, one of my all time favorite books ever read. Both hilarious and tragic.

there's no shame in playing that stuff live again someday if you were an originator. no one is asking him to make music like that anymore, but why dump your fan base and totally ignore that original work? especially if you're just going to do shit that has been done 30 years earlier in jazz. how the fuck is that original and not boring?
So it took you 4 comments to make your stupid point? Whatever... some of us have moved on from teenage angst, shelved our annoying industrial music and listen to more melodic and arty music. Grow up!
I don't even listen to industrial fuckcrap anymore. I do like the techno-rock and beats with punk style lyrics that they did because that was innovative at the time. But I don't listen to all that death metal shit they got into. Today I like surf-punk, alternative(like I always have), good pop music(which is hard to find), electro, etc. it's easier on the ears. Shit I like a ton of music, even polka, classical and some folk. But connolly is not talented in this jazz stuff. Sorry it's a fact.
@TheNewMusicNetwork You're totally right- this guy is a complete jerk for ditching Industrial music, and moving onto something different that he enjoys. Everything he does is to make assholes like you happy. Awesome!
Chris is so great because he's an embodiment of what a true musical landscape is. Searching and ever changing. From the early Jim Nash days when as a young kid I'd see him in Wax to my latter adult years buying the latest Neko Case and seeing him at Reckless, he's always intuitively evolved and changed as the times change, like a true music community really does. And by the way, record store clerks are infamous for shitty attitudes. Every time I've talked to him, he's been as nice as can be.
I love Chris. I've loved all his collaborative industrial projects and love his solo stuff since Whiplash Boychild. The 2 are not mutually exclusive, if anything they each make me appreciate the other all that much more, because it showcases his extrordinary range.
Hey Chris. WHO CARES what those industrial fans want or say. I was one of those fans, but where are those bands now? Your music is brilliant. I don't listen to Ministry anymore, but you take up most of my iPod. Keep up the great work.
Still in our record collections and on our iPods, that's where. You probably regard them as being obsolete, and you'd be right, but that's no reason to stop liking their music.
And as several people have already pointed out: you can wear your Ministry t-shirt with pride and still listen to Connelly's solo stuff. It's called not being an elitist arsewipe, you should try it some time.
I agree. Ministry is great, but why pigeonhole yourself into one style of music? Chris has a great voice and his music is amazing regardless if you think Thieves is the best song ever.
hey U9301, no one gives a flying fuck about this old bastard now. he sold out and without the ministry and rev co hangers on, he'd have zero fan base for his bullshit wannabe jazz thing. and he barely does as it is anyway so he is irrelevent these days.
too bad he can't pull his head out of his ass and see how original his earlier work with AL was.

@TheNewMusicNetwork Well, you're certainly a persistent troll, if not a creative or entertaining one. I guess one out of three isn't SO bad.

He sounds a bit like John Malkovich when he`s talking. I met him in sweden 1991 when he was touring with Pigface - he was very nice.
