  • nice that's actually just the look i've been getting parts for....did your barrel come without the front a2 sight or did you remove it?

  • @Chris28456 my did come with it. i had to remove it

  • What low profile gas block did you put on that?

  • @909prepper im pretty sure its the troy low pro

  • so if you run the 13'' freefloat rail you have to use a midlength gas tube?

  • @kammando21 nah you can use a carbine length gas tube if you like. if you run a midlength gas tube i would get at least the 13" rail to cover the gas block

  • @kahai808 k shoots! btw you Ar is sick! super clean and simple, im in the process on starting a build myself, i always watch your vids to get some ideas how i want mines to look..anyways mahalos for the help

  • Simple and SWEET...

  • @CarlosScott76 thanks

  • I love the AR. It's almost exactly the same as mine except my quad rail is a Daniel Defense.

I have the same lower, same backup sights, same stock, same foregrip, and same pistol grip.

Mil-spec tubs aren't better than commercial tubes. They are exactly the same except one is slightly bigger.

  • I really like your lightweight build philosophy on this weapon. My AR is heavy-ish, esp. with the Eotech512. Anyway, cool gun, enjoy.

  • Thats a nice looking rifle bud. Thumbs up.

  • For a light weight optics setup i would run a Aimpoint T1

  • Hey what did you do with the front gas block to be able to fit that free float rail? I'm trying to figure out my options. Thanks!

  • @N1ghts1te I needed a low profile gas block.

  • @kahai808

Funny part is that you and I are going to have the same gun. I have a Bushmaster Upper w/ a H-BAR barrel (does yours?) soon to get the TROY 13" TRX Battle rail in dark earth.

I have a Spikes Tactical Lower- Mil-Spec w/ the MOE Stock (DE).

Question for you pertaining to the Low Profile Gas block. What diameter is it? Is there a difference between the H-BAR and the lighter barrel?

  • @Stickyittoyou i just got the diameter gas block that fit my barrel. not sure what it is off hand. the only difference between the two is weight and the flex of the barrel. heavier barrel are more ridged which give them better accuracy in longer ranges. but the AR isnt ment for ranges past 600m. But they do occasionally shoot further than that.

  • @kahai808 Thanks for the quick reply. Is there any way you could double check the diameter? I wouldn't want to have them grind down my A-style gas block just to get it to fit. I didn't ask my last question properly on the other comment I made. Better Question - Is there a difference in diameter from the heavy and light barrel?

  • @Stickyittoyou most of your barrels (heavy and light) will be .750", that is pretty much standard. did you buy your gun stock? if so your A2 front post sight gas block is probably .750". Now your bull barrels will have the .936". they are real thick barrels they use for shooting distance. there is no way i am able to check it right now because im overseas at the moment. i bet your barrel is .750". i would take it to a shop to check it out. so you have where you bough the upper?

  • @Stickyittoyou its really only when you get to bull barrels is when you get the .936" diameters. if you say its a heavy barrel i'll be .750"

  • @kahai808

It was .750, thanks! :) I'm almost done with getting parts. Just the TROY rail, and MBUS sights.

  • magpul ubr is the nicest stock i have tried, we had the magpul stock you have and it broke, kinda upsetting

  • yeah mil spec size better fit

    get back safe dude

  • Great job but swap the commercial stock the mil spec is much better

In the Uk we can not have semi auto centre fire weapons. I bought the spikes full package but the importer turns them into single fire. I think he just swaps the fire selection pin so it won't turn passed single shot its a pain to re load every shot

Good vid tho mate keep them coming

  • @paulwrightgroup are you referring that mil spec "size" is better than the commercial "size?" or just quality is better with mil spec?

Thanks for watching. I'll be doing more builds when i get back to the States!

  • Hi I've got a question about lower receivers. Would I need a weapons permit to buy a lower receiver in Hawaii? Or can I just have one sent to an FFL and pick it up? Also what about registration for a stripped lower receiver? Thank you. Looking forward to my first build.

  • @Bunyop im pretty sure you can get it sent to your ffl. i would call your ffl and make sure. sorry i couldnt get you one for sure answer.

  • @kahai808 No probs bu. Thanks for trying haha.

  • i just built my ar and put a battlecomp 2.0 because of what everyone has said about them!i haven`t shot it yet,but hope i will be happy with it!nice rifle build by the way!

  • Nice & well built. Great job.

  • That rifle look very firmiliar. You wanna go light get a micro or I hear that vortex clone is awesome for the money. I think I need a AFG1 now. The 2 just rides a bit low on the trx. The 1 looks like a better fit.

  • Spikes has a mill spec tube for a good price

  • why the commerical tube?

  • Sweet

  • Thats a clean looking rifle. The TRX really sets it off, i have a stag lower that you just gave me some ideas for. Thanks!

  • YHM diamond is only 3 ounces heavier than the trx. i like the looks of the TRX more though. Good looking rifle.

  • Pretty sick rails. What kind of flash suppressor or compensator was that? Do you like the magpul front sight? Cause I have it and it seems a bit bulky when I'm trying to sight in I don't really like it.

  • I'm looking to buy/build my first AR-15, but I don't want to build it completely from scratch. I'm thinking about buying a complete upper and lower, and then doing a couple modifications. Where did you buy your upper and lower?

  • @dantet21 to tell you the truth. i would just buy a real basic AR and just do upgrades that way

  • @dantet21

Man, it really isnt that hard to build an AR-15. I am half way through mine that I am building right now. All i have left to do it buy the barrel. I am going to get a BCM 16" SOCOM. The reason why I decided to build mine from scratch is cus it has more meaning to me and you learn alot more. Everything is custom.

  • @dantet21 jse surplus is awesome

  • Man i know this is an older video of yours but i have a quick question. What low profile gas block did you use with this rail? Also did the gas block cover up the two bare spots that are left on the barrel when the sight gas block is removed. I have a 16" midlength gas system and I was looking at your 13" rail which is nice. Just wanted to know about the gas block and the bare spots on the barrel. Thanks for any info man!

  • whats the difference between commercial and milspec buffer tubes and stocks??

  • @HitDiss16 the diameter of the commercial tube in bigger. if you put a commercial stock on a milspec tube it will jiggle a bit.

  • @kahai808 also milspec stocks won't fit on commercial.

  • This is exactly what I have in mind for my current build. Well almost mine will still be all black, and I am thinking of puting an ACOG on in. Great job bro.

  • @19hawk11 thanks!

  • Nice, I really like your setup. I am planning to build an AR myself but i'm not sure where to start or where to buy the parts. If you dont mind giving me some pointers and tips. Thanks! i appreciate it...

  • Your AR is set up exactly like mine except I'm running an Rock River upper and lower. Good stuff man I love the TRX. It kicks so much ass.

  • @THEKINGOFMETROPOLIS yeah man, i love the TRX, its not all bulky!!!

  • Dude, Im building my lower next weekend. I think I got it, I have a Timney skeleton trigger. So theres not too much after that. Sick Vid. I have the Yankee hill blk dimond specter XL. I hope you didn't have problems with yours. Im on the same page as you. My Girl and I live in CAli but we go out to NV to blast. Keep making vids. Lets see your tac vest.

  • @augeight Nice. where you guys at in cali? i've been meaning to head out Vegas to do some shooting. I'll try and get a vid up of my vest soon.

  • @kahai808 Were in Redwood City, were going to move to Nevada. We go shooting in Fallon Nevada. Its the home of the "TOP GUN" was down south but now its there. So were we shoot you get free air shows all the time. Jets/ Choppers Navy seals training. ITs fly as F. MY type of vacation. Im so lucky my girls into shooting and wheeling. Peace.

  • @augeight Nice, i got a buddy that is stationed in Fallon. For my job we take the SEALS and EOD and they jump out of our planes. i might have to make it out there sometime.

  • Man my YHM handguard kills me w/ the weight! one day I'll have the money for a TRX extreme...one day, lol.

  • @pock8size tell me about it man. Im building a rifle for a buddy and he wanted the YHM Diamond Handguard and i tried to tell him about weight, but he wanted it to look cool, which is all good, but i think he might change his mind after carrying and shooting it for a bit. If you do decide to get one, i found it on ebay the cheapest!

  • I'll try...never posted a vid before and its going to be a bit when it gets done, maybe by April. I'm a full-time Law Enforcement/Criminal Justice student, alot of my time is devoted to that....

  • Just bought it today on Ebay for $165...FDE. Can't wait, happy as hell! Watching your vid, I know I made a good choice.

  • @impalaman96 nice glad my vid helped. Post a vid when its done!

  • Yeah...I feel like a turd. I watched the video one time again and I heard you state it being a 13" rail. I spaced out a bit the first time...Ha. I managed to find the rail on Ebay at a great price compared to my local gun store. I mentioned it to the clerk and he said it for airsoft, nobody would sell it that low. I think he's a bit salty I found one for a better price...LOL! Thanks for the great series of vids, keep it up!

  • @impalaman96 Yeah i got mine on ebay also. about 170. I dont think that Troy makes the TRX for airsoft, LOL! he's just want to sell it to you.

  • Is that the 13" TRX rail? Just confirming because it does look like the 13". That is the length I want so it covers much of my barrel which is 16" ,of course.

  • @impalaman96 yes it is the 13" TRX handguard

  • So is this a 16" barrel? I'm wondering 'cause I live in TX and I'm looking to buy my first AR (Preferably one similar to yours) can I possibly go any shorter than 16" without a license? Also I don't know if you've been asked this before but do you know of any gas piston system I can use under the Troy TRX extreme?

  • @arandomperson3 This is a 16" barrel. Without a license you can only go with a 14.5 inch barrel with a pinned muzzle break/compensator which should bring it out to around 16". anything shorter will be considered a SBR (Short Barreled Rifle). If i were you i would just do all the paper work pay the extra tax stamp and get an SBR! I dont know of any system that will work with the TRX. Sorry i couldnt be more help.

  • @arandomperson3 i have an 11.5 inch barrel with a pinned 4.5 flash hider. thats the shortest i have ever seen.

  • @supersport93s10 as long as its 16 inches your legal!

  • does taking the rail off a lot affect the sights, does it keep its zero?

  • @Patriot5401 nah, i use a clap on the rail to keep it straight. Now i got the aimpoint.

  • Nice looking AR! Nearly Identical to the build I've been contemplating for a while. I do have a few questions for you. Mainly about your barrel choice. What profile/weight barrel did you decide to go with? Twist rate? Did you go with Mid-length gas tube or carbine length? 16" barrel length correct?

I am also wondering how well the finish between your upper and lower reciever matches each other. Thanks for the videos dude! Any info you are able to share will be greatly appreciated!

  • @Buletspunge I went with a 16" barrel with a mid length gas tube. I had a carbine, but with the mid length gas block it just runs real smooth. have you thought about going with a gas piston system? Adams Arms makes a nice kit. I think if i build another AR i think i might try a gas piston system. As for twist rate I went with a 1:8 twist rate so i can still lob heavy 69 gr bullets if I want. My upper and lower receiver has the same finish on it. Any other question

  • @kahai808 I have definately thought about it. This would be my first AR build. I want to try a DI AR built before I try a piston build. I have heard the Piston guns can be somewhat muzzle heavy. Do you have any first had experience with a piston gun? Thanks for sharing your build with us bro!

  • @Buletspunge I dont have any piston experience but i have heard good things about them, being alot cleaner when ran. yeah DI is fine with me, im real thorough when i clean so my AR operates nice. Well good luck with the build!

  • @LDMoss21 Video is up for you

  • @LDMoss21 Yeah no problem. ill get one up later today. i'll let you know when its up.

  • hell yeah man thanks you have a badass rifle Im also getting that same rail but I had to pay 300 for sucks

  • @miltnxc123 O man, i wish you would had told me. I got mine on ebay for like $150!!!!!!!!!! Get a video of it up when its done. Love to see it. Thanks for the compliment!

  • is that barrel full profile?

    ,jon

    p.s. very clean rifle.

  • @lynette1953 No its a Heavy Profile
