Hey scotty, i have a 2002 Chrysler sebring convertible thats plowing the 20 amp start/fuel fuse. i put 3-4 new fuses in it, as soon as i try to turn the engine over you can watch the new fuse blow, the shop i took it to said it could be the wiring or the fuel pump. do you have any suggestions on which way i should lean towards instead of taking a chance on one. Either way both problems could be exspensive. i would love to go the cheap route. please help :(
@Fayte34 well, have the test in this video done to find the short. that's what it's for, but it's not easy, since the wiring goes into the fuel pump inside the gas tank. That's chryslers for you, couldn't give me one. From my experience, I would say fuel pump though
@supersupra89t generally small leaks in the headlight assembly, then dampness gets in and burns out those bulbs; One drop of water touching them will fry them
brandond175 im 100 percent sure your 98 stratus does not have a distributor it has an ignition control module and coil packs that fire off of the cps or crank shaft position sensor located at the bottom of the engine and the coil packs are located on the top of the engine in packs of 3 there is no distributor on this engine
@brandonb175 watch my video "replacing a distributor in your car" it's the same in all cars. Best to get a timing light though to make final adjustments when done, though you can mark it like in my video and put it back the same way
Sorry scotty I meant its a 98 stratus.is there a way I can check to see if the cam sensor is in the distribator and if its operating like it should?also I heard it could be the ecm computer.which one do you think it is?it randomly died before, but as always started back and now it wont.tried your trick to see if its getting fire and there is no fire frm the distribator to the plugs.
@brandonb175 You can't check that yourself, only a mechanic with a dealer level scan tool can correctly analyze cam sensor readings. since that costs money, you might just guess with a rebuilt distributor, they aren't much at discount auto parts stores.
When I got my telephone connection set up in my apartment, the guy who reconnected it at the junction box had something similar with which he sent an ascending tone thru the cable so he knew which one to hook up at the junction box.

turns out both flashers were bad. I call the first parts store to check the price and they tell me its $15 each because its an older car and those parts aren't much in demand. and they'll have to order them. the second store said."we can't get them. There not in our system . Try a salvage yard or the dealer". The third store said," two dollars, ninety-nine cents apiece. Aisle seven. I just filled the shelf this morning. Hey Scotty, I got a car question for you. I have a 96 Oldsmobile Cutlass that has developed a wobble like feeling in the front end while going about 20 mph. Then it goes away until it hits around 50 mph. Once it reaches this speed it seems like it slightly vibrates in the front. Already replaced a bad tire with a broken belt on the passenger side. Driver side was checked and is not damaged. So not sure what to think from there maybe something like bad tie rods??
Happy New Year Scotty! That probe is pretty sweet! That is similar to a device I use to use to trace network circuits~ plug the probe in and it puts a tone on the wire~ very very handy tool. I think I need one of these new ones like you have in my toolbox now. : )
MB w124 200 gasoline. When I turn the power on, oil pressure goes right away up to 3 bars. When I try to take the wire of the meter it stays the same. Same thing with the oil amount meter, the light just wont shut down, Ive checked and there is enough oil and the engine runs smooth.
@Mikotiini typical benz, their electronics break down over time and cost a fortune to fix. I have many customers driving em around with whacky gauges and warning systems when they discover what it costs to fix the stupid systems.

@scottykilmer Hey Scotty, will this work on the ignition switch fuse because every time I start the my dads 2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager the fuse blows causing the van not to do anything until I put a new fuse in the box. It's been a pain for my family. Even the experts from Chrysler can't solve the problem.

AndyRoddick969 1 month ago
@AndyRoddick969 first, check the fuse, and pray you didn't melt any wires or destroy the socket itself.
scottykilmer 1 month ago
@AndyRoddick969 A fuse is probably blown. Check your cigarette lighter fuse.

Bret3030 1 month ago
@Bret3030 my guess its your engine has problems. not the pipes on your exhaust.
AndyRoddick969 1 month ago
@Bret3030 tons of things can do that, get it scanned by a dealer level scan tool. Often leaking cheap plastic fuel injectors on those things though.
