I used to skip school and watch this when it came on TCM, now i just call out sick on the job to go home when it comes on, then i bought the movie, finished school, and im always on time at work, (O_O) But im still chicken!
The movie is o.k. in so far as it allows Don Knotts to display all of the talents we came to love him for......script could have been tightened comedically. Nice assembly of great TV supporting comic actors like Rita Shaw.
After he left The Andy Griffith Show, Don Knotts made of number of lighthearted films including "The Reluctant Astronaut", "The Incredible Mr. Limpet", and "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken".
"The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" was by far the best of the lot.
I love this movie. It's got some awesome 60's lighting effects at 2:05 when the spotlight is not anywhere near where he is pointing the flashlight. Classic.
Attaboy, Luther! I remember watching this on tv in the 1960s. The lights were out and my dad sneaked up and grabbed my foot at one of the scariest scenes! I still get goosebumps...
I'm 17 and this is my favorite movie!! I laugh EVERY TIME he karate chops the tree... LOL i laugh the whole movie, but that part is one of my favorite parts... LOL
This movie was better than Citizen Kane, and It sure gives Ben Hur a run for it's money. As a matter of fact, imaging the roles played by Heston and Knotts reversed!
I've sadly only seen this once, on new years eve. My uncle has seen it 100 times

64Climber I haven't seen this movie in ages; but, Andy
Griffith was right about Don Knotts being the
physical comedy man. I still love this movie!
In my book....it's a classic.
