  • @nikejordan214 yeah it's okay I feed mines dog food and carrots and they love it! You can give them dried shrimp mines dont like the pelets either

  • can someone tell me if its ok to feed my turtle dried shrimp every day because they seem to not like turtle pellets?

  • have you given them a bigger tank yet?

  • @sillypizzza

    turtlecam.rediske.de

  • small tank

  • @minky300

    not any more... turtlecam.rediske.de ;)

  • i fed my turtles craw dads but dont worry my turtles did not get harmed by craw dads. BTW there red eared sliders

  • yeah when they eat they release small particales of food that make the tank dirty thats why im putting airater stones in my tank to blow all of the stuff on the bottom to the filter hope it will work

  • Thats alot of food man. I hope thats just a feeding tank cause if its your main tank that makes it dirtyier a whole lot faster, Turtles r messy eaters

  • That's the main tank... I have built a device that turns of the filter for half an hour so it wouldn't suck in all the food from the water surface... I only need to clean the filter about 4 times a year that way! (the bacteria inside the filter do all the work)

  • take that gravel OUT!

  • Why should I? It's in there for about seven years now, basically the day they were born. They are smart enough not to eat it and they really like digging around in it!

  • You may think they're not eating it, and they may not be intentionally, but if they happen to grab some when they dig around on the bottom, or while they're eating, their digestive system can become impacted. This will lead to death.

If you're going to put a substrate in their tank use sand or large river rocks that are larger than their head.

I don't want you to regret not taking my word for it, so trust me on this one. I've seen it happen a lot.

  • well i have big gravel so i dont have to worry bout that

  • @Distroi Yes I HIGHLY AGREE one of my turtles swallowed a rock and it scared us so bad we finally saw her spit it out but it was a close call!!! You can never be to careful especially when your attached to your turtle!!!

  • cool set-up

  • you shouldn't feed them that, it's bad for them if you give them as the principal food.

  • I feed them fish, meat, insects and sometimes fruit and vegies (if they take it). And yes I feed them shrimps sometimes as you see in the video, beacause they like it. I guess my turtles are fed quite responsibly... ;)

  • The love that kind of food, i give them that just when i want to give them something that they don't like. i put the shrimp over the food and they eat both things.

  • Shrimp has 44% protein. How can it be bad?You tell me.

  • leaning usually means a respiratory infection in one of the lungs aka pneumonia....go to the vet!

  • one of my turtles seems a little tilted to one side when it swims..does tat mean anything

  • you should show it to a pet vet

  • ok thank you very muchh

    :)

  • hmmm when a turtle does dat it just swallowed some air bubbles and it'll be like dat until next feeding time then its all better it'll pass through the body like feces and other wastes

  • It can be an RI (respirectory(sp?)infection) TAKE IT TO A VET ASAP

  • they wud eat it everyday in the wild so

  • my turtle was fat lazy and made me feed him upclose then i got angry and put him into a smaller terrarium for like 3 hours then put him back with a whole lettuce in front of him :p

  • Nice , red eared sliders right?
