Title 10, Subtitle A, PART II, CHAPTER 47, SUBCHAPTER II, § 813, Art 13 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice does not allow a prisoner to be held in punitive pre-trial confinement indefinitely. Yet the US Government has held Bradley Manning in solitary confinement since his arrest, in violation of the UCMJ, and with the full knowledge that it can only hurt their case. It's about demonstrating that the law is now used against the people, rather than as a protection for them.
