What a beautifull story. Thank you for putting it up, it was a very good watch.

This makes me think quite strongly about grown-ups and how imagination is killed off early.

Much of Tezuka's work involved divine love and tragedy like this film. It was very old fashioned but romantic to exhalt the female image to that level (before porn).

Look at Space Firebird and Godo's heartbreak and subsequent imprisonment, and also Apollo's Song with Shogo's electric shock therapy that interupts his dreams of divine love.

Powerful erotic scenarios that communicate fluently to the children as well.....It is all childrens' prelude to adult life. Sabbe pe Dukkham !

It was part of a set of three short films of Tezuka I got my hands on. This was the only one I truly thought was great, though. The others weren't nearly as interesting.
