It is a shame the sound quality of such great voice acting is so poor. But they didn't exactly have a choice. The space FFXII was taking from the DVD was so great they either had to put it on two DVDs or take the quality down. Shame, but what can you do.

Although, the bigger shame is how little FF fans appriciate this game :(

I loved FFXII. FFX started the voice, bu FFXII perfected it. And I don't see nothing wrong with Vaan. He's a kid in the beginning but play the game and you see how he grows and involve to become quite likeable.

AHAAAH. I mean I like James Arnold Taylor, but the sound was mixed TERRIBLY in that game. Like, when Tidus was talking on a cliff and it just sounded like he was in a room talking normally.

Crisis Core wasn't bad. Tactics wasn't impressive though. And Dissidia was monotonous in terms of narrative, although did have some redeeming features (Kefka, Golbez, Kuja, Tidus have excellent voice work). But I suppose it depends on whether they count as the main series.

XII is definitely my favourite anyway. I think people let their judgement of the game influence there judgement of its narrative (they shouldn't be judging the game badly either, but that's another argument)

I think most of the voices are awesome! Balthier, Basch and Ashe take the cake for me. But I just can't bring myself to like Vaan and Penelo's voices. Fran's accent confused me for the longest time until I learned it was Scandinavian.

Okay so I know this is a game but some people told me that this was like a series or whatever. I want to know if it is or not cause this is like an episode but not really sure. So could someone clarify it for me? Is it just a game with dubbing or a series?

It's called Final Fantasy 12. It is part of a series of games but each one has nothing to do with the last. Naturally it starts at one and then goes all the way up to 13 so far. Though there ARE side games to explain some such as FF7 has a side game called Final Fantasy Crisis Core that follows a character that is mentioned several times in FF7. FF10 is an exception, it has it's own sequel called FF10-2 that follows the second main character.

One of the things I never understood was how easily Vaan accepted Basch's story about his twin. I know later on they meet Gabranth and see him, but as far as I know they are hid around a corner and can't see his unmasked face. Surely you would assume Basch was telling porky pies when it's your brother's murder that's being discussed? Vaan's just like: "Oh okay :D I understand now, let's be buddies" lmao

It's when you are in Rabanastre after returning from the dungeon that he begins to see Bach's story is true. Bach is watching parent-less kids play and laugh and Vaan explains about the war. Bach insists once again that he didn't kill Vaans brother and finally Vaan stared at him and replied along the lines of 'Y'know...you seem really sincere about it I'm beginning to believe you. I just miss him is all.' so thats when he had the change of heart, realizing how much Bach cares for Dalmasca

I agree...the recording quality in FFXII sounds a little odd - but at least the voice acting is convincing :)

It really would have added something more if Square Enix would have made the voices sound differently indoors and outdoors.
