  • this is my very first time i heard testament... they are fucking good, i really like the vocals

  • 'screamo' isn't a fucking genre

  • in sound quality the original is better, it has more color, warmth, atmosphere, presence, and dynamics than this version

  • Vocally, the original is better. Instrumentally, this one is way better.

  • Love Chuck's vocals on this

  • thats a bitchin solo!

  • That was solid.

  • Hey, I asked people on Omegle what their favorite riff of a song was. Whoever linked me this, thanks. Badass.

  • testament que tipo de metal es?

  • @digitalkid98 thrash metal

  • @digitalkid98 thrash metal, ... but 4 me the labels do not count anything, it's the music that counts! Testaments counts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Metallica, Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer might be the Big 4,

but Testament is definently the big No. 1!

  • verry good update!!!!....i'm from the oldf school testament age and must say i like it!!

  • Me personaly like this re-recording better, `cause Scolnic`s guitar sounds much better in this version.

  • THANK GOD FOR ME JUST DISCOVERING THIS BAND!!! I have so much more to listen to, now... :D

  • @britishpirate93 i know right. Actually I heard a few of their songs but when I heard this live I wanted to hear more of them. Any good songs of them?

  • @Joskun More than meets the eye, The Evil Has Landed, 3 days of darkness, Low, Hail Mary, Chasing Fear, Return to Serenity, Down For Life, Hatred's Rise, and more.

  • both versions kick ass

  • The Screaming perfected the other one

  • i am moshing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey guys, im not listening to testament very long so i dont know many song of theese guys andso i would ask you to suppose their best songs in your opinion. i know "souls of black", "over the wall", "into the pit" and "practise what you can preach", which other really classics of them can you suggest?

  • @loouuni TestAmenT is a Killer band which is my Favorite Thrash Metal Band. I like all the albums, but their first album "The Legacy" is Fucken killer all the songs are non-stop Killer Thrash. So, I suggest the first album. Maybe, even their first LP with Zetro singing. I really like the Reign in Terror song. But, Yeah the first album.

  • @ThrashManiac555

thanks brother, gonna listen to that stuff ;)

  • @loouuni have you heard their instrumental song "hammer of the gods"?

  • @SkullCoLennox

    not yet

  • @loouuni : hey. I would say the next songs: Trial by Fire, Disciples of the Watch, More Than Meets the Eye, Henchman Ride, Greenhouse Effect, The Persecueted won't Forget and The Preacher

  • re release lame

  • 2:13-3.17 is the best solo/bridge ever !!!

  • I think it must have been quite fun for them to re-record all this old stuff. i think it's awesome to do stuff like that

  • It's still fucking awesome, but I like the original guitar tone better. At least they didn't jack up the best part, 2:13-3:17 :)

  • Testament: So much fucking better than Vocaloid.

  • This faking theme is AWESOME

  • Guitars are recorded much better, new drums ruin the old drums, vocals are much more suitable even though i miss the high pitched "I WILL GO" that Chuck screamed back in the day...

  • oooo the old version is much much better than this...

  • Like the production, but it is to slow in my opinion.

But it's still nice to have 2 versions of this classic song.

  • Tempesta... great drummer!

  • know what the 80's are gone but Testament broght the 80's in this song

  • This sounds so "New"...i like the classic version.

  • muy muy buena version.... no la habia escuchado esta sollada

  • this is how metal should be not like the shit today

  • i like the old one alot better but everyone has an opinion

  • riff: epic

vocals: epic (prefer the old version)

    refrain: eepic

    atmosphere: epic

    solo: EPIC!

  • 7 people can't handle the sheer metalnes of this video.

  • 0:35 epic circle pit

  • the dislike bar its the size of justin beibers dick XD

  • @BlackInstinctChanel

And the like bar is the size of yours.

  • @BlackInstinctChanel and also the size of your self esteem....

  • @BlackInstinctChanel and the dislike bar is how much of your brain you use of a daily basis.

  • ALRIGHT!!!

  • i don't think this song needed to be redone, it was perfect the way it was, i don't like the down tuned guitars here, it doesn't fit in an original thrash song, i love testament and all, but this just is no where close to being as good as the original.

  • I agree

  • The tone is so much better with this recording. Vocals are better too i think.

  • @WagonMancer agreed... this version is more brutal than the original.

  • This version is also slower than the original... I like the original better, just not as good quality as this one.

  • My fav song by this band by far... They better fuckin' play it when they come to Moncton on July 27th.

  • Fuck HELL YEAHH!! THIS shit kicks ass hard These re recordings of these classic TESTAMENT KILLERS are as good as the originals in my opinion PHISICALLY,but emotionally the originals are heart MELTERS.STILL have the great feelings whenever I krank "THE LEGACY" from start to finish, one of the best thrash albums EVER.GOT one question where the fuck is "RAGING WATERS" on this 2001 release 'cause thats my fave song on that album?????CHEERZ

  • @madometal true nothing beats the original recordings.

  • @CrushJehovah Amen

  • greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!

  • Damnn, this shit is sickk!!!

as much as i like this one i prefer The Legacy's version better

  • So great, fuck!!! the best version

  • Awesome Solo!

  • I never really compared this album with all the previous versions of these songs, I like those you hear now a lot because it´s clean and sounds very heavy and I also love the original because those are the first ones I heard and they are thrashy as hell!

people disrespecting my opinion can suck my dick ;) and testament rules! \m/

  • When he says "alright!" the riff that follows just crushes my mind every time

  • This is too clunky and the vocals are bad compared to the original.

  • Why do people hate on this album? The quality is so much better on these. It makes for an easier listening experience.

  • i love the original and this one at the same... they're both AWESOME !!!!! And Billy's vocals are GREAT !!!!

  • the original is a lot better obiously, this one is a slower tempo, distorted vocals without the screams of the original song and the guitar don't hear very good as the original, this is my favorite testament song but the re-issue don't have chance against the original

  • fuck yes!! im with you HVPinc, ima go tomorrow as well. Ready to mosh! ready for the wall of death!

  • ugh... i can't wait till Wednesday!!!

  • TESTAMEEEEENNNNTTTT !!!!!!!

  • I saw them as well in Atlanta on sunday, and Testament was by far THE BEST show. \m/ (*.*) \m/

  • Just saw Testament on R.I.P. Tour with Exodus and Megadeth. Alex wasn't there, but I can assure you all that Chuck and Eric show no signs of slowing down as they covered The Legacy in it's entirety. Go see this band if the opportunity presents itself. One of the best live acts you will see.

  • did they play the songs in standard or D standard?

  • Comment removed

  • @leveliee what means ftw?

  • miauh :)

  • I perfer this version while im playing guitar along to it. But jamming out in the car or something...OLD ALL THE WAY

  • Skolnik is a LEGEND!!!

  • I love it!! the second the guitars kick in this song has u by the nads-Testament owns ALL

  • Every time I listen to this song I want to kick a baby...over the wall

Anyways Testament is a fucking beast. The bay area in the fucking 80s invented thrash. Quit with the individual band fanboy shit.

  • @ikkymann LOL haha

  • Iv been listening to testament since they first came out... They fucking jam period.... Slayer, testament, exodus all have there qualities

  • Killer

  • its true that slayer influenced a lot of thrash bands, just like eodus and metallica... but i think that there are a lot of bands that are much better than slayer

  • how did slayer influence metallica if metallica started in 1983 and slayer in 1986?

  • They didn't, but your years are off. Metallica released Kill em All in 83, but started in 81. Slayer released Show No Mercy, Haunting the Chapel, Live Undead, Hell Awaits and Reign in Blood by 1986.

  • ok,so slayer released 5 records in 1986, 5 records in the same year?

    go die faggot

  • I said BY 1986, not IN 1986. LEARN TO READ. Mama Guerra dropped you on you're head a lot when you were a baby I'm assuming.

  • by 1986 they released 5 records,in what plannet?

  • You ride the short-bus eh guerra? Show No Mercy (1983), Haunting the Chapel, Live Undead (1984), Hell Awaits (1985), Reign in Blood (1986).

Oh yeah, on dees plannet we call Earth que?

  • that is the way i like it, you dont pay more for using more words........

  • wut

  • @cmlguerra: dude learn to read. he said slayer influenced a lot of trash bands, just like exodus and metallica influenced trash bands. he never said slayer influenced metallica.

  • @thrashobi If it wasn't for Slayer we wouldn't have half the thrash bands out there, half the Death Metal bands out there, half the Black Metal bands out there, half the bands out there that want to play fast....its not a matter of who is better......its what you did to revolutionize the music....not to mention Slayer didnt take the easy way in the industry...

  • sepultura*

  • slayer suck dick and did not invent thrash at all sepultura are the daddies of thrash

  • @lukeblack1989 funny cuz sepultra looked up to destruction. And how do slayer suck dick? listen to show no mercy from 83, i dont think more ignorant words have been spoken about metal.

  • @lukeblack1989 WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT ????? slayer suck dicks ????? I thinks you suck dicks . Basicly slayer are the A and z of thrash metal . HAVE YOU EVER HEARD POSTMORTEM OR CRIMINAL INSANE ?????? Better go and listen to LADY GAGA SHIT. But SEPULTURA ARE FUCKING GREAT. ARISE IS KILLING

  • umm, no. And considering that Sepultura didn't record their debut album until 1989, you're not even close. Exodus invented thrash, and Slayer kick your ass. Sepultura's great but not better than Slayer or Exodus

  • when i think of sepultura i think of 1984's beastial devastation

    that sir is good sepultura

  • Umm, Sepultura's first album was released in 89? Wrong dude. Either way, nobody "invented" thrash.

  • Um, nope. Try again Sparky

  • love how my 3 fav thrash bands (testament, exodus, anthrax) all did somethin like this wher they made there shit heavier (let there be blood and greater of two evils). although exodus' was just a re recording of there classic bonded by blood with dukes and anthrax to incorporate their new singer in, it shows that these bands still can kick ass and can progress with new styles of metal

  • I like the older version the original recording had more of a thrashy feel I think it's mainly cause this is clean and recorded well ha ha

  • Testament is bad ass I just wish they would play in the US more often, none the less, always has been and still is kick ass

  • me likes old better cause of the singer

  • He's older (plus the whole cancer thing I assume), so his voice isn't quite what it was once, but I think instrumentally the new versions sound better.

  • they had an other singer^^

  • uh noooooooooo....Testament has always had chuck billy fronting the band

  • @DragonForcebest Defo!!! Old is better!!!!"

  • yeah old is most time the best...

  • I like this version more than the original. My opinion

  • @yoeasypunk

    I share that opinion.

  • @yoeasypunk especially the solo is far better here =D

  • @yoeasypunk agreed

  • @yoeasypunk meh i like the older version better, my opinion, but this version is badass all the same!!!

  • @yoeasypunk It's more aggressive, this song sounds like it wants to beat the shit out of you.

  • @yoeasypunk i like old one better but this is still good

  • love this song...

i hope youtube dont take this one down too

  • If you ask me, Testament is better now. They where wonderful in the 80´s and early 90´s but since Demonic they are one of the best. Fucking gods, I have never heard a heavier band. The Gathering... Nothing is heavier.

  • awesome!!!

  • Billy is the best singer in thrash besides Tom Araya (sorry Billy) BUT Billy is getting better and better as time passes so pretty soon Billy can be better :}

    5/5* :D

  • tom araya the best singer of thrash????.

he's not bad at all but he isn´t the best neither

  • ya hes not bad but mustaine is the best! uuuuwauaa!!! :D

  • WTF moron! Slayer doesnt hold a candle to Testament. Thats not just vocally, thats generally.

  • @Kaaybeee r u fukin pissed?????

  • I agree. Only Reign In Blood or Hell Awaits can gold a candle to most Testament releases.

  • jajaja idiotas hay en todos lados del mundo!!!

  • Chuck Billy's voice is so Powerful.

Take a Look at the live in London.

    Pure Power.

  • 1987 is a WHOLE lot better

  • I like the old one better...... this one still kicks ass

  • orgasmic solo, makes me cream every time

  • 1:43 I wonder why it never sounds like that when they play it live ... takes away a lot of energy from this awesome bit

  • Billie's vocals have improved over the years.

  • @sovietchimp how can you say his or anybody else's vocals(in this SHIT METAL genre) have improved?? there aint no song they can show they vocal skills, they're just screaming..... while in other metal genres, singers can do that...like bruce dickinson, rob halford, and others....

  • @nemanjavulic Chuck billy can sing any thing :D. Ask Chuck norris he was named after him :D

  • @nemanjavulic he isn't screaming lol.

    That's screamo my friend...

you can say he is yelling... but he isn't screaming

and plus thrash metal from the 80's has a ton of good singers...

it's just the shit that comes out today is horrible.

  • @1dew Like ''Screamo'' and ''Death Core''

  • @1dew You should totally go listen to Children of Bodom and Pantera. Those bands both have screamed lyrics. :P

  • @1dew i totally agree...

  • @sovietchimp i like both of his vocals this gives it a heavier sound but i like his old vocals better

  • 1987 2001.

    Who fucking cares.

it's testament, it's beast any way.

  • q temasooo!!!

  • I didn't really get into thrash yet except for Slayer , but this could do the trick ^^

  • i actually like this version!

  • hey if you guys like ts song and wanna see an okay cover look up the divine decadence over the wall

  • hmmmmm...the older version is more raw..better vocals.. just sounded more thrashy.

  • lol "sounded more thrashy" yea because they had crap electronics back in the 80s-now u can here all the notes hes hitting

  • i prefer the 80's version, what the fuck is it you?

  • ok so YOU like the 80s version better excuse me for thinking that newer electronics makes this song sound so much better but then again there must be some other reason they re-recorded all these songs

  • they should have rerecorded it in E instead of D, it wouldve sounded better

  • AMEN VOSTFR

  • i think there both just as good this one is more evil and makes you wanna kill someone but the 80s one makes you wanna beat the shit outta someone in a mosh :)

  • i honestly think this is better then the 1987 version

  • I agree with you, this version is sooo Better !!

  • perdon mi ignorancia pero l no esta cancion la compuso megadeth y metallica?

  • yea it sounded better in E tho but I like this quality more xD

  • Sounds too sludgy in D Standard.

D# and E are the best thrash tunnings

  • Comment removed

  • I would have to say E standard is the best thrash tuning.

  • A half step down works too for the darker riffs on say, Peace Sells or Hell Awaits.

  • yeah...but this song is played in D standard.....all I'm saying is thtat it just sounds weird to me, im used to standard E.

  • this is dope but i still prefer the nastyness of the 87 version

  • I still prefer the 1987 version, but I'm glad they did this: the sound isn't very clear on The Legacy, making it hard to learn the guitar parts by hear for example. Also, this album can be a good lesson to the new kids who don't know what thrash metal is.

  • More like lesson for those who try to hear the guitar parts and play along.. A perfect lesson in thrash metal IS TO play over the wall from Legacy. Thats the pure thrash...
