Skinhead did not start out as a racist group. In the 60s it was kinda the anti-mod subculture. Butin the 70s it was hijacked by white power assholes and from there it has had a bad name.
Not every skinhead is a racist though, like the group SHARP. Some know the real roots of it, know what the subculture really is, know it's history, and more. I support SHARP and I got into it when a gay black friend introduced me into it. There are bad ones but there are good ones, please remember that.

Not true, their were some Xenophobic skinheads, but the majority were not. One can intuitively rationalize this fact by counting all of the different styles that emerged from the original skins. Their are more none-racist derivatives of the skinhead style than racist or even nationalist ones.

Such a great film. Okay, so the concept of P---- Bashing was brought up as once again trying to peg skinheads as predominantly racist. Well that's simply not true. Yes, this did happen, but it's kind of like pegging an entire group of people on the actions of a few. Violence surely characterized much of the Skinhead subculture in those days, but it certainly wasn't on everyone's minds. The thing many people forget is that the media likes sensationalism, and this issue is no different.

Skinhead did not start out as a racist group. In the 60s it was kinda the anti-mod subculture. Butin the 70s it was hijacked by white power assholes and from there it has had a bad name.
Not every skinhead is a racist though, like the group SHARP. Some know the real roots of it, know what the subculture really is, know it's history, and more. I support SHARP and I got into it when a gay black friend introduced me into it. There are bad ones but there are good ones, please remember that.

A lot of people may not know not even the blacks themselves but that's one of the reason that blacks still keep their hair low cut was because of the skinhead rudeboy influence that was so strong...because traditionally black men kept their hair as Afros and in Plats( in the caribbean).....but the rudeboy and skinhead influence changed all of that , it not only changed their dress code but also it was now a style to have low cut hair.
