Took me a good 10 minutes to beat him when I first encountered this boss; And the first thought I had when the battle started was "Hey, whats this music?" Love the tunes from the games, a few of them have the same tone or something... but this one's music definitely reminded me of the Grandfather in Chapter 4 of the first game.
As for fighting this guy, I went with my effective but slow poisoning; I swear I abuse Black Bullet too much though :)
This fight took me about 15 min. I thought that the life steal attack does a certain amount of fixed dmg and then a large chunk of % dmg based on health. So I kept healing my party to about 25-40% to avoid getting killed by the life steal attack (which could not kill me). I managed to beat him on this very try ( the second attempt), two of three of my party members died three times, the end seemed so close at many times, but still victory was had. It was epic. And stupidly inefficient of me.
