This song brings back so many memories. The story in KH is so amazing, I couldnt help but feel sad when it ended. I felt a connection to these characters, and I felt their pain when they lost their friends, and felt their Joy when they were found. KH is one of the best games ever. The light in the heart of the Darkside has spoken.

Playing this for a recital in two days (Sunday, December 12th for those who might be looking at this a year or so after this is posted). I'm hoping this will make for some great applause, haha. Such a beautiful song. Perfect for a performance. And who says video games are corruptive? More like constructive, if you ask me.

She won't be able to give you one that's self consistent, without caveat'd bare assertions appealing to special exclusions (ex. "I just don't think it is...," isn't an answer, and is illogical), that doesn't include this piano piece, it's extremely well composed by a master musician, and is often played as a piece in competitions. It's any thing but "fake" or easy, the only thing that's fake is your mom's pretentiousness.

Hate to judge someone I've ever met but she sounds pretty close-minded and not much of a good mother if she can't encourage you to listen to what you like, especially beautiful piano music. But don't let it get in the way of fully enjoying fantastic music like this. Some people really need to break out of their head that all video games are just games. They're not. They're an art form. Games have some of the most breathtaking music to ever grace my ears.

I can play, Flight of the Bumblebees, I've heard some of the best pianists from Carnagie Hall, I've even met, Nobou Uematsu, and this is genuinely the most beautiful thing I've veer heard.
Every time I feel down I play this song alone and in the dark, I remember how much my mom loved the original Kingdom Hearts and its soundtrack and now that she's gone all I have is her memories sharing time with me while playing this amazing game. It's a strange mix of happiness and sadness but it makes me feel safe. ^_^

@SpartanXNA my dad got the original game for me and my sister 4months before he had passed away, my sister and i were to you to young to understand and never really got pass destiny islands, so we would just watch him play it when he got home from work. we still have that game today, he knew how to play violin and piano so he would play the music for us. his favorite was "fragments of sorrow"

I know absolutely nothign about pianos, but I think I get the theme to this version...its more embracing of struggle and fights for love, that the game displays so well.

lol.... the theme is originally from a video game. The name "dearly beloved" isn't the entire title of this particular rendition. it's a "classical paraphrase", meaning in the classical world, with the formulas and the theory applied, this is ONE possible way to perform the theme. the original idea is indeed peaceful, and that tune, even within the context of the video game is changed to fit the situation (like they do with the themes of POTC) it's still gorgeous, but it's different.

i simply said nothing and played this song
once it was over she stood there with clear shock and surprise on her face
all i said after that was "this is why i play KH"

cus theres no way u can learn it without a good amount of experence
i havent actually learned the piece so I cant tell but i was able to easily sight read the whole piece
basically the left hands easy arpeggios and the rights 4 note chords so the left hands the only thing u should watch out for

i seriously wanna learn how to play the kingdom hearts piano pieces but im pretty sure im going to slaughter it T-T my fingers werent meant to play such deep and complicated music.
The music in kingdom hearts is so beautiful...who could guess that its from a game? i told my mom and she was like "'WA-WAT?" xD

i love this arrangement, but i dont agree witht he last chord. i dont think that it should be resolved... it makes it sound like it has an end. idk, that last chord just doesnt settle with me. great arrangement on a wonderful piece though, i love it!

I wish everyone had love towards their friends, family and lovers the way sora shows love towards his friend Kairi. He may be fictional, as well as Kairi, but if everyone felt like this, towards everyone in their lives, the world might be a better place... that's just my thoughts, anyway :)

well yes i do agree that it sould be a more gentle feel but it is a concert paraphrase so it is almost like a song based off of the sound of another song but played in a different perspective. But thats just my thought of it as well.Still this song is amazing I wish I could play like him.

ok... if they didnt call this dearly beloved i might have some respect for it. but isnt the whole idea of dearly beloved to be peaceful? in m opinion (if you disagree more power to yo everyone has different opinions) i think he kinda butchered this song

lol.... the theme is originally from a video game. The name "dearly beloved" isn't the entire title of this particular rendition. it's a "classical paraphrase", meaning in the classical world, with the formulas and the theory applied, this is ONE possible way to perform the theme. the original idea is indeed peaceful, and that tune, even within the context of the video game is changed to fit the situation (like they do with the themes of POTC) it's still gorgeous, but it's different.

The full piano arpeggiation in the beginning is actually as reminiscent of Chopin's Ocean Etude as the opening is of Rach. 2
