Hi!! I think when you play the first prhase when star to play with chords, its very difficult so I think that this part can play with the normals chords like an arpeggio and the other like the video because that one I dont Know. so i have a lot homework with this song...thanks..
@joannesthomsen Sure it is, how did you come to that conclusion amigo? All you have to do is sign up for the newsletter then you get access to The Canon in D eBook plus a bunch of other cool lesson material.
@brawa08 Yes it is and what is wrong with that? The FREE version gets you the PDF score and The complete version gets you the complete score (all 4 parts plus bass line) and 2 backing track mp3s. Lots of good folks have purchased and have only given me very positive feedback (and an occasional; thank you).
those chord variations!! my god, my theory senses are going berserk!!! one question though, with those chords.... for example the g with a g in the base wouldnt that just be a regular g chord? i could understand mentioning whats in the base if it were in first or second inversion, but is it neccesary to mention a g in the base of a g chord?
@apathyandempathy Oh I suppose in the scheme of things it could be unnecessary to mention a g in the bass of a g chord but for the sake of continuity and already throwing the notes out there anyhow it keeps the ball rolling so to speak... lol
@bowespark3714 LOL no worries, I just wanted to have some fun without taking too many liberties and give the students something cool to think about, Triad/Chord inversions are so useful and this is a very brief introduction on how they can help you create new colors with the "same old" chords.
@Narutoxbleach503 The Trace Bundy version is GREAT..! I agree with you 100% but no need for that. I set out to teach the song in the traditional/classical sense and have moved on to other projects.
@bowespark3714 Perhaps you can please be a bit more specific? Are you referring to the Alternate Chord Stream? If so there is NO right or wrong in the matter, just a cool way of approaching the chords using different forms. Thanks :)
wow you have planned this lesson out very well, I love how effortlessly the student learns basic music theory too and you don't make it scary for beginners by using visual aids. well done
@suhbliem Thank you, sure hope you gained some knowledge from this segment, it is a long lesson series and it does focus on the reading aspect and not depending on tab. :)
4:30 - 4:50 , thats all good, but when you say what you are playing , you can't hear what it sounds like, The person learning could be playing the right notes, but he may not realise his guitar is out of tune! , and also, Whe bother putting tabs on when you can't see what they say?.. I have learnt more from this vid about this song, but you really need to see this vid from our point of view, before you teach.
True, the tab indeed may be hard to read on the computer screen but is readily available for free to those who join the newsletter and download the eBook.
@BigRed3117 Don't let these lesson series throw you, it is not really meant for beginners there are some pretty tricky parts here but if you really go for it YOU CAN LEARN QUITE A LOT..!
Excellent video. I like the basic theory at the beginning, that really helps me since I'm still a beginner guitar player. Can't wait for the rest of the videos.

Ok, I didn't see that you had alternative version of the chords.
I never dreamt anyone would try to rearrange Pachelbel...still..only in America, as we say.
