You are so right!! Yes I saw those interviews as well! They both stayed back to shoot their videos while the other idols went on to Utah. I believe when AI saw what these two had on the show and the fan reaction, it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out they were both going to be signed by the same label, DUH!!! I think things will be better after they finish the tour and doing their own thing, then they can hang out with fam and so forth w/o all the hoopla!!! GREAT YOUNG PEOPLE!!!
Just watched the Access Hollywood interview with Lauren the am after the finale and when asked if they were dating, her denial was not a typical articulate, Lauren answer. She stammered, kept looking to someone off camera, and even seemed a little irritated (maybe at the person off camera that was making her deny the relationship). Her mood changed the instant Scotty came up from behind and surprised her.
@utgrads I know you have watched all the interviews like I have. if you saw the Idol chats, they stayed away from it and had them on separate interviews. I think it's being done on purpose. I'm sure they have to be on guard everywhere they go. Scotty's mom called Lauren her "second" daughter :) I saw a pic with lauren and scotty with his parents after the finale. I'm sure it's hard to just be "themselves". "Codewords" going on with tweets, pay attention to those :) they are just precious!!
@africa588 Totally agree. Love the pic of her with his family (and wearing Scotty's jacket, no less). She mentioned in an interview with a radio station during the CMT fan fest that the McCreerys were such a blessing in her life. These are two special kids who deserve everything they're getting. Smart and grounded, as well, to be able to graciously handle all the attention and acclaim!

If you notice in the interviews since the initial NY press shows (CMT good example) they don't do so much of the total denial and it's so easy to see. I agree that they were told to keep it on the down low and what implications it could have on their careers just beginning. These are 2 (normal) teens. They still answer for each other and when asked a ?, they reply with "we", not "I" most of the time. God Bless them!!

After watching ALL these clips, think S&L planned to acknowledge their relationship over the course of the last two shows, culminating in his in his "...stay together" and "love ya baby" comments. Think their handlers advised them to stand down for the sake of financial implications, bringing theconflicting stories--"kissed him on the lips" "kissed on the cheek" "we're best friends" "we're like brother and sister" and so on. Too many sparks to be innocent!
A lot of people have commented on the way Lauren looks at Scotty.. but hasn't anyone noticed how he looks at her? Scotty projects this "cool" facade but the way he looks at her in some of the interviews and during duets is a dead giveaway. That, and how he closes his eyes when he hugs her.... :)

I think they are trying to appear as professionals so they will be taken seriously by the music industry. Considering their ages, I rejoice in their "friendship" and hope they will be able to keep their private feelings (whatever they are) out of the spotlight as long as they wish. God will reveal his plan for them in His time.
