The new Eclipses suck balls. They have sucked since they quit putting 4g's in them. The GT's are slow as balls stock vs. stock a GSX will rape them. If you're going to buy an Eclipse and race it buy a DSM, if you're not racing them they make a good dd but aren't fast enough to hang with the big boys..

To all the moronic people saying a mustang gt can beat the eclipse gt, you my friends are idiots. I own an eclipse gt and have raced many stang's and win by 4-5 cars easily.

And to the people that say "well this car that I don't actually own but heard its fast can easliy take an eclipse, either take your 4 banger rice burner up against one or do a little more research than your "extremely uneducated guesses".

due to the weight difference and drivetrain design, physics work against mitsubishi; i can get a mach 1 or GT cheaper, & GT can beat the eclipse, the mach rapes.I raced a turbo'd 06 GT eclispe in my mustang was VERY surprised, he started on 2nd beep so i was only able to pull by him after middle of 3rd gear from a 45 roll and ended up only 1-1.5 cars by 130, making me consider forced induction myself. from a stop i raped but I was EXTREMELY impressed by the roll race.

Eclipse = 263hp(245ish to the wheels) and 260ft/lbs 3500lbs with better gearing and a broader power curve. Run low 14s with some cracking off high 13s.

Mustang = 260hp (220ish to the wheels) and 302 3400lbs, run low 14s with some cracking off high 13s.

So like I said YOU ARE WRONG!

The Mach lost, I was the one that put the cheaters(not slicks) on the Eclipse. If you watch all the vids it is obvious the kid in the mach sucks at driving, but oh well that is street racing. I told my friend (eclipse owner/driver) before the race he definently wouldn't win stock vs stock, so that day we got some junkyard toyota rims and cheaters mounted up. He then proceeded to rip the guts out of the mach 1 and get like 20 or 50 dollars from the mach driver. :-P

A mach 1 with a normal driver can go 13.4 stock. An exlipse 14.5 prob. That ecplipse would need to be seriously modded for this race to be legit.

And to the other guy saying he beat a new gt, its simple. The driver couldn't drive.

There hasn't been an eclipse built from the factory yet that would outrun a Mach 1. If the eclipse in this video won it is because the Mach driver took his time taking off.
