I'm a die hard Zuko fan, but I do believe that Sokka deserved a whole lot more credit. He wasn't just funny and sarcastic, he was brilliant, great with planning, and did all he could to keep his promise to his father. He is a wonderful character, you did an excellent tribute to him. @erincox123 Lol the show ended with characters hooking up with their female version. Mei is a female version of Zuko the only difference is she doesn't show that many emotion. And Aang ended up with katara who has most of his character traits in common. Without Mei the show would've turned out fine and( as much as I love her) the show would've been fine without Suki. Then there are tons of characters that had no reason to be introduce: Haru, FF, Boulder, Hippo, waterbenders from the forest...
@erincox123 Chitzang and a few others. They hardly brought anything to the plot of the story and ended up getting canned right after being reintroduced. What was the point of splitting off a team that just got put together? Katara is an important character, but there are a good bit of characters that the show still could've done great without. And falling in love with someone isn't really essential to the plots progression and actually made me dislike Aang more.

And their romance literally consists of one unseen kiss in a cave, one kiss Aang forced before he took of that wasn't even brought up until the 3rd to last episode, and the one kiss right at the end to confirm an uneeded pairing. I couldn't care less about their forced relationship.
@erincox123 It was forced. Katara had one moment with him inside of the cave and that was all throughout the entire series before kissing him at the end. Their love for each other was 98% Aang crushing on her.

@blacktee31 I have to disagree completley with you being against introducing minor characters. It would be extremley boring if all we had were the main characters and just an animated background. The whole point of minor characters is that it shows there is a whole universe, a whole diversity of personalities. Sure, maybe some of them were just apart of filler stories, but alot of them caused a chain reaction. If there was no Mai or Ty lee to betray her, Azula would have never cracked.
@soulstealer450 I'm not against introducing minor characters, but their presence doesn't affect the plot. Like Suki being with them during Sozin's commet. She surved no purpose other than one brief moment of comic relief with Sokka and there are other ways to execute comedy without using the character's unneeded love interest. Mai and Ty Lee aren't filler or even minor characters.
@blacktee31 True, I suppose it's hard to find any drastic changes created by Suki or some other characters. But even you said yourself that you do love Suki, and although she may not effect the storyline, she has had some good moments (One of my personal favourites being her fight scenes at the boiling rock.)

I mean... he's the freakin' Jack-of-all-trades of the group! And you're right, he responds the way a real human would; plus it was REALLY nice to have a character interested in the more 'scientific' aspects of a world surrounded by magic so he's very relatable.
@Octane64 pretty much, Sokka also is the team leader, when he was training under Master Paku, the rest of the gang was useless and lost and didn't know what to do. he's the red ranger! most shows show the hero (Aang) to be the leader, but Aang looks to Sokka because Sokka is a natural born leader, plus he's older than Aang by like 4 years. Sokka is a master swordsman, sarcastic, meat eater hehe and he's awesome! XD
@jacsawkjalac I actually think Aang, Sokka and Katara are each the leader of the Gaang at different times. Aang's the leader when they fight using bending (seen in all of Season 1, The Drill, Sokka's Master and others); Sokka's in charge of navigation and keeping everyone on track when they're on the road (such as getting to the North Pole, Omashu, Ba Sing Se, the Fire Nation Palace, etc); and Katara is the best at keeping her head in a bad situation (like in The Desert and the Serpent's Pass).
@BentPaperClip aaaaaaah yes yes you do have a point there ^_^ and during the eclipse Sokka and Aang both traded off being the leader. Sokka was the leader during the invasion, but when they went to find the fire lord together in that secret bunker, he let Aang lead in the battle...and when Azula was trying to lead them away and Sokka figured out what she was trying to do, he assumed the leadership again....yeeeeah Aang's the leader for fights, Sokka for direction, and Katara for order. :)
whoever wrote this show was full of shit for not giving Sokka enough fight scenes. I can only remember 2 times after his training that he actually used his sword. 1. when he fought Azula with Zuko and even then he only took a few slashes at her and 2. when during the invasion we see wat he did @ 1:11.

Sokka's definitely under-appreciated. The fact that the kid can hold his own against benders IMHO qualifies him as a bad-ass. I don't think I could have led that seige on the day of black sun. The fact that he did speaks volumes about him. The character is definitely more than a goof.

I love this video. I always loved Sokka, and he really is underappreciated. Usually vids focus on Zuko or Aang and people like Sokka and Suki are just background characters or never appear at all. It really isn't fair since Sokka is the team's tactition and fan-elected funny man. he deserves way more love, and you have given it to him! Way to go!
i love how ppl call sokka the lamest character when half of the ways team avatar gets out of trouble is due to sokka's brains and quick thinking. to name a few would be the invasion plan, the finding of the eclipse, the boiling rock and the plan with the cooler, and even the taking down of an entire freaking airship fleet. without sokka, the avatar would have been captured a long time ago.
Avatar couples: Kataang (KATARA and AANG!!), Sukka (SOKKA and SUKI!!), Zai (ZUKO and MAI!!)...that's it. See, these are the proper couples! Sokka and Toph will never be together nor will Zuko and Katara! GET IT STRAIGHT!!!

@soulstealer450 I'm not against introducing minor characters, but their presence doesn't affect the plot. Like Suki being with them during Sozin's commet. She surved no purpose other than one brief moment of comic relief with Sokka and there are other ways to execute comedy without using the character's unneeded love interest. Mai and Ty Lee aren't filler or even minor characters.

@blacktee31 True, I suppose it's hard to find any drastic changes created by Suki or some other characters. But even you said yourself that you do love Suki, and although she may not effect the storyline, she has had some good moments (One of my personal favourites being her fight scenes at the boiling rock.)

@Octane64 Flamey-o, my good sensible friend, flamey-o! I love ALL the characters in the show (yup, even the ones most people hate; Ozai: I tolerate) but my GOSH did Sokka deserve more credit! D':
I mean... he's the freakin' Jack-of-all-trades of the group! And you're right, he responds the way a real human would; plus it was REALLY nice to have a character interested in the more 'scientific' aspects of a world surrounded by magic so he's very relatable.

@Octane64 pretty much, Sokka also is the team leader, when he was training under Master Paku, the rest of the gang was useless and lost and didn't know what to do. he's the red ranger! most shows show the hero (Aang) to be the leader, but Aang looks to Sokka because Sokka is a natural born leader, plus he's older than Aang by like 4 years. Sokka is a master swordsman, sarcastic, meat eater hehe and he's awesome! XD

@jacsawkjalac I actually think Aang, Sokka and Katara are each the leader of the Gaang at different times. Aang's the leader when they fight using bending (seen in all of Season 1, The Drill, Sokka's Master and others); Sokka's in charge of navigation and keeping everyone on track when they're on the road (such as getting to the North Pole, Omashu, Ba Sing Se, the Fire Nation Palace, etc); and Katara is the best at keeping her head in a bad situation (like in The Desert and the Serpent's Pass).

@BentPaperClip aaaaaaah yes yes you do have a point there ^_^ and during the eclipse Sokka and Aang both traded off being the leader. Sokka was the leader during the invasion, but when they went to find the fire lord together in that secret bunker, he let Aang lead in the battle...and when Azula was trying to lead them away and Sokka figured out what she was trying to do, he assumed the leadership again....yeeeeah Aang's the leader for fights, Sokka for direction, and Katara for order. :)

whoever wrote this show was full of shit for not giving Sokka enough fight scenes. I can only remember 2 times after his training that he actually used his sword. 1. when he fought Azula with Zuko and even then he only took a few slashes at her and 2. when during the invasion we see wat he did @ 1:11.

if sokka was kick ass without bending, (something not many charcaters are able without bending), can u imagine if he had bending. i know it would go against his whole purpose in series, (the smart yet normal one), but still. jujst think. he waterbend not katara. imagine....

Sokka's definitely under-appreciated. The fact that the kid can hold his own against benders IMHO qualifies him as a bad-ass. I don't think I could have led that seige on the day of black sun. The fact that he did speaks volumes about him. The character is definitely more than a goof.

I love this video. I always loved Sokka, and he really is underappreciated. Usually vids focus on Zuko or Aang and people like Sokka and Suki are just background characters or never appear at all. It really isn't fair since Sokka is the team's tactition and fan-elected funny man. he deserves way more love, and you have given it to him! Way to go!

i love how ppl call sokka the lamest character when half of the ways team avatar gets out of trouble is due to sokka's brains and quick thinking. to name a few would be the invasion plan, the finding of the eclipse, the boiling rock and the plan with the cooler, and even the taking down of an entire freaking airship fleet. without sokka, the avatar would have been captured a long time ago.

This is seriously truly amazing. The way you can twist the meaning of the clips so that they work for the song are perfect. I love how on the lyrics 'holding my hand' you used Suki, Yue, and Toph. PERFECT!
