  • So walking into any hospital and with a few clicks of the mouse, my doctor being able to pull up my entire health history since enrolled (whats worked, what hasn't worked, etc) is a bad thing?! National surveys consistently show Veterans more satisfied with the VA than the civilian private system. My VA doctor isn't being wined and dined by corporate greed either.

  • @emmoshiggs14 Love those electronic medical records! 5 million Tricare patients just had theirs stolen last week! I get to post your alcohol, drug, sexual, psychiatric and all other social histories for all to read! Your life is but one mouse-click from probing eyees. Veteran hospital roation was great TRAINING ground for us as residents. We got to operate on Veterans, when we finally could get them to the operating room, and learn how to do total knees.

  • @kneedock The threat of personal info being 'stolen' these days is, I agree, a problem, however, it's a problem within every aspect of our lives considering everything we do is online now. The streamlining of medical information for the benefit of patients and their doctors shouldn't be sacrificed. Fear, though, is one thing that the govt has streamlined to the masses.

  • @kneedock Obviously, the reason here for not moving forward to a more "socialized-esque" (better) healthcare system is the presence of multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical companies and their lobbyists. This is my main concern Doctor Kneedock, I don't want input from profit-driven companies influencing my own personal doctors decision for a course of treatment. I know that you have a clearer opinion on this Doctor, considering your occupation, and I respect that.
