The reason this sounds like Master of Puppets is because they're around the same tempo (quarter note = 212, roughly), and the riff is similar in structure. It has a continuous riffing on a low E natural, and the syncopated notes up higher are mostly in a chromatic scale (Master of Puppets is purely a chromatic descent). The difference is this theme has a shorter riff, so less notes of the chromatic scale are in there.
