Why is drum and bass becoming less popular? I think its the coolest thing ever not to mention dub and what not that used to be so cool. Of course the stupid elementary simple dnb is really dumb, but that good ol' chopped up mindfuck type music will always have a special place in my heart.

I think it is sad that you are generalizing using the word American, there are many American musicians who are working hard to push barriers, there is a lot of the same, but that it is like that with most of the word, some musicians come to a point where to turn this into a paying job they have to conform on many levels

This footage is from 2000-2002. I like the older D&B sound better than the recent stuff, which is more over-produced.
Jojo has been playing this style since probably about 1998, around the time of his great Modern Drummer festival solo.

amazing musicians all of them..... except for the vocalists. it would sound MUCH better instrumental. just my opinion though. jojo is amazing. any drummers out there should get his dvd secret weapons for the modern drummer. you will learn a LOT of awesome stuff

go to a drum clinic or something. i think it was late February Jojo Mayer went to different places to do a drum clinic.... like he went to Miami, FL.
