I'm not a hater like Zack. I pity him, dispise his views and think he's a hypocrite. If the Immokalee Workers want to stop worker exploitation in the US, they should oppose illegal immigration. If the big companies had no illegals to accept the slave wages, half the problem would be solved.
You're not looking at the big picture. If there would be no undocumented immigrants, the companies will move out of the US to find them. The problem is not immigration, the problem is abusive companies that are free to do anything in the US and in the rest of the world.
I won't argue that some companies aren't abusive. That's why I said half the problem would be solved by cutting off the supply of illegal aliens. If the company moves out of the US, it's then our job as US citizens to monitor what they do in other countries and choose whether or not to buy said company's products. This companies act globally but want you to think in terms of nationality and devide us. You have more in common with an undocumented immigrant than with some CEO pig.
That's why companies need to be severely penalized for hiring the illegals here and the illegals must be deported and put to the back of the line to get back in. If the company is exploiting workers in other countries, that is in the realm of int'l law and US citizens can either care or not by buying or not buying said company's products.

I saw Audioslave at a free concert in Hollywood. Jimmy Kamel was there and he made some racist jokes about the newly elected Latino Major. Then, when Cornell was trying to sing Killin in The Name the crowd got wild. They pushed the riot police away from the front. Cornell got scared and said it was a peaceful concert. Morello seemed mad at him. I believe that was the begining of the end of Audioslave.

I'm not a hater like Zack. I pity him, dispise his views and think he's a hypocrite. If the Immokalee Workers want to stop worker exploitation in the US, they should oppose illegal immigration. If the big companies had no illegals to accept the slave wages, half the problem would be solved.

You're not looking at the big picture. If there would be no undocumented immigrants, the companies will move out of the US to find them. The problem is not immigration, the problem is abusive companies that are free to do anything in the US and in the rest of the world.

I won't argue that some companies aren't abusive. That's why I said half the problem would be solved by cutting off the supply of illegal aliens. If the company moves out of the US, it's then our job as US citizens to monitor what they do in other countries and choose whether or not to buy said company's products. Demanding higher wages for illegals is idiocy.

Azrael, you're reasoning from a false premise. Namely, that illegal aliens in the US have rights. They have no rights under our constitution. It doesn't hurt me personally that people are paid very little or in indentured servitute. It makes me sad, but it doesn't hurt me and I'm not a billionaire. So, that argument is out.

I get the big picture. Companies moving out of the US does hurt. But it does not hurt as much as illegal aliens lowering US wages for manual labor and taking entry level jobs that used to be held by people that did not see those jobs as a career. If a person wants to spend their whole life picking vegetables, it's not my responsibility as a US citizen to ensure that the job pays well.

Nope. Companies under capitalism will do whatever they need, here or there, to decrease cost of production at whatever cost. Lowering wages will happen when they abuse immigrants here or they leave to abuse them abroad. Is the responsability of world citizens to ensure that multinationals pay well. This companies act globally but want you to think in terms of nationality and devide us. You have more in common with an undocumented immigrant than with some CEO pig.

That's why companies need to be severely penalized for hiring the illegals here and the illegals must be deported and put to the back of the line to get back in. If the company is exploiting workers in other countries, that is in the realm of int'l law and US citizens can either care or not by buying or not buying said company's products.
