What I really disliked about the this whole memorial is that they made the Holocaust seem like only a Jewish matter. There were 3 million non Jewish Poles that died in the holocaust, and countless other non Jewish victims. Do they not matter as much as the Jews?

What I really disliked about the this whole memorial is that they made the Holocaust seem like only a Jewish matter. There were 3 million non Jewish Poles that died in the holocaust, and countless other non Jewish victims. Do they not matter as much as the Jews?

@esh325 No. The reason they put emphasis on the Jewish victims is because they suffered the most, the majority of the victims were Jews, and while there were many other victims, the Holocaust and Hitler's propaganda was all directed at Jews. Hitler also used this as an opportunity to kill other people he despised, but he hated Jews the most and the Holocaust was about the Jews. That is why people often make it seem like a Jewish matter.

They were killed because of their religion and they were publicly humiliated by wearing the star of David outside, Getting a number branded on them which tattooing is completely against their religion, and they were even beaten while roaming the streets. I agree that there were not only Jews killed in the Holocaust, but the Jews got it the worst.

@esh325 they do of coarse i went to the musieum and there were things about gypseys and such they were just not as known because they were not documented down at times. jews were the main people affected though i do agree i wish they had shown more. though it was still amazing i had a nice time i hope we do learn from this.

The Poles were the "Slaves", the Nazis killed them if they didn't do what they say, they didn't have much of a choice, still some of them helped the Jews and for that we are thankful, really, they took a big risk and some of them were killed because of that.

@esh325 and you can also see the difference with the food allocation in the ghettos..for the Jews - 300 calories per day compared with 634 calories for the Poles. 6 million Polish civilians were killed - 3 million of them were Polish-Jews, there were other countries too.The Nazis killed almost all the Jews in the world( 6 million out of 15 million Jews), the genocide of the Jews in Europe.

He killed men, women, and childeren, and allowed experiments on people that caused great aggony on their lives, and altered them for the rest of their life. @Skaterman123456789 Let me put it this way: According to a AAMCHA report, there were in 1997 ~900,000 reported Holocaust survivors. Keep in mind that this number would be much diminished from how many there would have been right after the war ended, seeing as many Jews died off from old age and other non-Nazi-related reasons since then.
You don't hear of any survivors from Stalin's purges. Why? Because when a powerful government wants to destroy a group of people, there are NO survivors.
