As a player--- I can appreciate your very accurate playing of the piece. I followed the Monkees a bit was never was aware of this song until I first heard over 2 years ago when Davey and Peter and Mickey performed it at Westbury Music Theatre on Long Island. It quickly became my Fav- along with my brother-Your singing is right on. I'm subscribing as of NOW. Keep them coming. JohnPat
One of my favorite songs by the Monkees. Mike Nesmith was definitely the most talented in the group. Nesmith did some fantastic solo work as well that you should check out.

What's the chord you're playing with the half-barre on the 3rd fret? Eb?

Great version - this song is the one I remember most from watching the TV series on Saturday mornings in the 70's. I've been humming it for 30 years.

@ming746
Still it's a Murphey tune. Also I read in a book years ago that Don Kirchner offered Murphey the Monkey role in the TV show and he turned him down.

as a 10 year old, I was always atracted more to two songs on every Monkees album. Lo and behold, they were Nesmith's.
