  • That is fucking awesome!

  • oh sweet god.

  • oops i mean video

  • LOL best music eva

  • You have made my world a better place! Thank you!

  • You have changed my world. Thank you!

  • Is this the real video for this song? If so I'm dissappointed :(

  • LOL Uh, thankfully no. It's on youtube else where.

  • i love against me! a lot. but there's a line and this video crossed it

  • holy mother of god.

  • are those things really alive???

  • Wow. I don't even know what to say.

  • What's so amazing is not only are they human like, they can play instruments and sing so beautifully..

  • this is pretty much what i've been having nightmares about my whole life. . very creepy

  • this might have ruined the song for me.

  • my life before this moment lacked definition

  • read about this in Spin. thought it was interesting. good choreography too.

  • I love this one, Mitzi is very pretty, and Dook indeed is a great drummer. I love the Rock-afire explosion very much.

  • If you dont like this video, then you are dumb and smell funny.

  • freaking creepy

  • rofl @ 2:42

  • this is so creeeeeeeeepy

  • Was Dook's left ear being up for the entire show intentional, or was there a problem with that valve or something like that? I think it's adorable, it's like he's really listening to the rest of the band.

  • thats great

  • this could actually be the real video lmao

  • Creepy.......

  • I like this video. It has grown on me, like a friendly mold.

  • not gonna lie, i hate this video, but like the song

  • Tegan's hot as always.<3

    haha!

  • I have a question well actually two. Ok did you replace the old motors with new motors for the animatronics? Also my other question if the motors were to burn out how much would they be to replace them and where would you buy them from?

  • They're run by air cylinders actually. Not any motor equipment. No gas, no electricity, just air is all that runs the animatronics.

Try animatronics . org The site owner has links.

    FK

  • Technically, the air compressors are powered by electricity, but yes, that is indirect to the animatronic figures...

  • wow those animals look really creepy

    Amazing song and band!

  • OH my...tegan in a skirt! lol (Id like to also point out the pom poms though...)

  • I remember always going to see RAE at the Showbiz that used to be open near where I live. Always loved the shows and remember being so enthralled by it all.

As I got older I heard the new managment of the place let them all fall into disrepair and it saddened me greatly as I hoped to see them again.

Your videos made me remember all the fun I used to have watching them before and put a smile on my face. I look forward to seeing more.

I hope to see RAE come back in some way.

  • youre a joke sucker

  • and why is that exactly?

  • i love yon mitzi

  • halrious.. i love this song

  • Wow... takes me back!

  • Is there an official video for this?

  • One has been made and should be out soon

  • chuck e cheeses couldn't top this if they tried! this is the bots from showbiz pizza place.

  • Seeing this for the first time 2 weeks ago has done so much good for me since then.

It's rekindled my love for the Rock-afire Explosion that I had since I was 4. That has caused me to go on the internet & find out any info on the RAE that is out there. In turn, it's brought me out of a deep depression I've been in over the last 2 months.

Aaron, thank you so much for the Rock-afire Explosion & all the good they've done for people. I pray they bring you success to the highest degree. ^_^

  • You're so welcome harryjpotter7. It's a dream come true for me that anyone still cares about these characters. I have always hoped they might, but have lost that dream to a ceraton extent over the years. Now, If I could just find a way to make money with it, maybe I can support the public's desire to see more and keep putting new ideas into each show. Hmm..maybe I could sell T-shirts like other bands...lol

  • If there's one big thing about me, I'm a HUGE merchandise supporter for the things I like! Like with my love for the WWE, I'm always buying toys & shirts of my favorite WWE Superstars. If there were tees of the RAE out (like a black tee with the RAE fire logo from the set), count me in to buy one! I'd LOVE to have a Mitzi figure or doll that'd do the real Mitzi justice 'cause the old Showbiz ones didn't do it for me. I think merchandising, if done right, could get some good money going. =D

  • I've got an idea to start selling shirts, as some friends have used this site to promote their logos or artwork on tees and things. It's called CafePress. I can't put the URL up, though. =(

With the retro logo tees being popular these days, this would be a great idea to get the name out in another way. Perhaps a logo with a website addy for people to peruse further could generate more public interest.

I hope that idea is helpful. I'd love to assist in helping the RAE grow again! ^_^

  • the drummer sounds a little "ruff" around the edges...sorry, i just had to.

  • OK Think about this. Duke only has two movements in each arm. Up/down and left right. The up/down is at the elbow. Consider that when you look at what he is able to do. Duke is still the greatest robotic drummer in the world that I know of, even though human drummers can drum better than he can. Remember that he is not a real drummer. He has limited movements and control sophistication. Saying he is "ruff" is like criticizing a 3 year old musical prodigy. Just had to. Funny pun, though

  • i wasn't meaning it as an insult, because just the fact that a robot can actually drum is good programming in itself, and i didn't have to say it, i just threw that in.

  • No offense taken. By the way, there is a 2nd generation Duke character locked in the basement for 26 years that will put 1st generation to shame. I am hoping this You Tube thing will eventually me to bring him out and put him on stage. It will take quite a bit of work to accomplish that. I believe 2nd Gen Duke will be able to take his place along side real drummers.

  • I used to love going to Showbiz when I was little! These videos are definitely taking me back, and I'm glad they're online because I can really appreciate seeing them. Keep up the awesome work Aaron!

  • What is up with the mullet on the bear/guitarist?

  • It not a mullet.

  • This Is Oddly Epic.

  • Well done sir(s)/madame(s).

  • Mitzi is so pretty. Dook is a great drummer. I love them all.

  • what kind of guitar is that bear playing? that is a handsome axe!! and that gorilla sure knows those ivories!! the dog needs to work on his fills, they're pathetic whenever the camera zooms in on him and you can hear.

  • creepy yet entertainingly amazing

  • that would totally ruin everything...

  • yes it would

  • chuck e cheese stage show is really lame,The RAE RULES!!!! Much smoother movements and more lifelike the chuck e cheese ones are too robotic in their movements,I wish showbiz would come back in operation again,I miss it so..

  • The PSI would be the problem in CEC though.

  • i seriously hope to see these guys one day! I think they are beta than chuck e cheese anyday!

  • well the now-and-days chuck e cheese, the old chuck e cheese with the beagles and the king and stuff was about equal to the RAE. i loved the king :] although i've only saw him on youtube videos :]

  • the CEC shows your talking about were actually the RAE robotics with new costuming, however since they didn't have the rights to any of the techniques used to program the RAE they reverse engineered it (poorly).. goes to show how much better Aeron Fetcher and his company were at this :)

  • oh cool :] thanks a bunch. and yeah aaron fetcher is so much better at this then anything :]

  • awesome.

  • Oh wow, I'm in love with the song and the characters! It's all your fault I just spent 2 hours researching Rock-afire on the net. ^^o

    On a robotics geek level:

Are Dooks eye rolls intrinsically connected to his body's other movements or are they controlled separately? Like does flipping his ears make his eyes roll or is it an individual control in the program?

  • The eye movements are controlled independently as are the ears..Thanks for the nice words. My next production will be the one I try the hardest on. Arcade Fire won the bidding and it's a real challenge for an amazing song.

  • You're a little TOOO good at programming these guys :P

  • This is awesome!

  • Needs some death metal. Really test out the mechanics behind the drummer.

  • how can you actually work with these things for more than like 5 songs without going crazy

  • Who said you can? Sanity is overrated. lol

    Aaron

  • that's why you're awesome. only someone with a screw loose can create something of pure genius...love the comedy relief of Dook's drumkit toward the end...;)

  • Very awesome man!

  • chucky cheese gone punk

  • like seanflrs below me, I think reinventing would have been funny or we laugh at danger (and break all the rules)

    great work!

  • 2:01

  • Hahaha, that's freaky, but I love it

  • Good job! AM! is really into this, they even posted it up on their website :)

  • Can you provide a link to AM website?

  • It looks like some of my responses to questions have been stuck in the wrong place. So, I'm sorry about that. I hope you can match my answers with the questions..It seems to be a problem with YouTube, because I definitely hit "reply" above the questions I was trying to respond to. HELP!

    Aaron

  • on the main page they're displayed in chronological order, which is annoying.

At the bottom, Hit 'view all comments' link just above the "Comment On This Video" box - the proper order can be seen that way. hope that helps!

  • reminds me of when i used to work at Chuck E. Cheese's ... this is great though

  • I've never seen Warren looking happier. And it's great at the end when Tegan wiggles her ears. Too cute!

  • Oh Man! That makes me feel great! Tell them how much I loved the Tampa performance on You Tube. That's what I studied to design the choreography. I am totally blown away by the song. It has heart, like (the Boss) Bruce Springsteen, and so much more. I think it will be a huge hit and career-catapult "Against Me!" to the next level.

    Aaron

  • Tooooooooooooooooooough!!!

  • Insane how much Beach Bear and Mitzi in this video sound like their original counterparts from the RAE back in the 80s.

  • I know! It's rediculous!

    Aaron

  • Sorry Aaron, today has been crazy with all the RAE news and seeing the movie trailer and all. I know you did the voices for the majority, Billy Bob, Beach Bear, Looney Bird, Rolfe and Earle.

Today put me into a fog of remembering my childhood with all these new Youtube Videos that have been added recently. RAE is living on the internet!

  • Official Video! Period.

  • As AM! said, this is incredible!

  • I love how you made it so you could hear Dook drumming on certain parts.

  • Thank you. I was hoping someone would notice that. I'll be experimenting with that more and more as I play with new tools both to improve the choreography creating better and better drumming parts.

  • Did the band contact you guys for this, or was it a fan?

  • It was a fan who seems to know the band and felt they would enjoy this. Then, a few of the fans besides them joined in on the bidding to push it to the top of the bid list.

  • Ultra-Gor LOVES this stuff!!! Someday...RAE as a computer-animated TV show! YAY, AARON!

  • I like how the bear actually looks like he'd sing like Tom Gabel.

  • UP THE PUNX

  • nice do you have a link to info about the animatronics slah where how you got the robots

  • Not yet..I'll do this someday soon.

  • Rock on Aaron . A nouther one for the books.☺♥☺

  • Thanx! It's exciting to get feedback. When we were doing this for Showbiz, we would send out a show and never hear two words about it unless there was something objectionable about it. (Except from Bob Brock- He was always so into it.)

  • I know its hard to set a price on a used Rock-A-Fire setup, But what should a good full set up go for???? I have a chance to get a full 3 stage set up from a place in New York. Its in i wouls say O,K, shape but fixable.

  • Oh..I don't know about that. But remember, your commitment will be much deeper than just paying for the characters if you buy them. You need space for them and will need lots of parts and time to fix up the show.
