I mean one things for sure, I feel I can trust Obama. I like him too.I trust my country in his hands more than any president I can remember in my life, & I am 51. I sure dont feel I can trust the people who claim they believe hes a muslim when they know he isnt tho. They always assure everyone, "it has nothing to do with race, I just dont know anything about him" THEN READ HIS BOOKS!!! EITHER OF THEM! he has told everything about himself
I disagree with Obama on this. What about people like myself, with good jobs, but cannot afford to buy a home? We have seen our American dreams of owning a home passes us by, because irresponsible people bought and pushed prices up. Now prices are starting to go back down to our level and you are trying to stop it from going down, to protect the irresponsible people and screw people like myself once again.
If you buy a house on a falling market, you will most likely wind up with a house that is worth less than you paid for it. Obama said that more affordable housing needs to be built for people like you - but no one will build new houses until the value of existing houses stops dropping. So the first thing to do is stabilise the housing market by reducing foreclosures.
Sorry, but it sounds like you didn't follow what his plan aims to do.
As a grad student feeling in the same position as you, I see your excellent point. But, what else are we to do? These foreclosures will have to be stunted at some point, and the longer we wait the harder it is to re-strengthen the market. As IncredibleGoliath mentions, he wants to also focus on building afforadable houses. Obama focuses on what's good for all people not just individuals. So there is hope for us yet mate!
Billary claims that her health plan will cover EVERYBODY. The problem is, it will cover everybody by FORCING everybody to buy. Is that what Americans want?? Is to be forced to buy or be punished for it? No Billary, we do not trust you enough for that. Obama's plan is much better, come up with a good affordable plan and EVERYBODY will buy, because they choose to buy and not forced.
Obama did a good job keeping the answers simple and understandable in laymen terms.
Another issue besides passing a bill concerning lending, we also need better enforcement on licensing for Real Estate agents & lending agents. We need a national licensing laws with minium requirements for companies & individuals, on having to maintain a office or operation. Example - we need national & local inspectors in the Real Estate & lending industry.
thank you for clarifying this topic. i never understood all of that until you explained it. thank you thank you thank you!!! obama you will make an amazing president.
Obama, keep doing what you're doing. Don't listen to cynics, critics, and spinsters. If people really want change, now is the time! I see no difference between Hilary and McCain, and if either are elected we'll be back to the same Wash politics. " Yes We Can "
My comments need approval, some someone is reading them. How are you today? Well, I hope. Please do not strain your tendons too much on your clicking finger. Take a break and so some exercises every once in a while.
It's a thin line - Obama has to balance inspiring the crowd (which means talking globally, with no specifics) and informing the crowd of his plan (which means talking specifically which is less entertaining, but convinces us he knows what he's talking about) Good work Obama, you the man!
Let's maintain the momentum in TX, OH, PA, and all the others. Clinton is betting the race on those states, and if we knock her out there, we will take back our country.
I don't think an affordable housing trust fund is tenable. First, it comes across as throwing money at a problem without much structure to how it'll be disbursed. Second, where does this money come from? Taxes? Shifting resources away from another fund or service? Though I support Obama, this idea violates a stable pay-go fiscal plan for reducing debt and controlling public spending.
"...the Potomac Primary was in the DC area. McCain and Obama managed to get to the Hill without difficulty. Not Clinton. She has no excuse. The craven decision not to vote - not to be accountable - was calculated ... and this from the candidate who slammed Obama for ducking the tough votes as an Illinois legislator."
As for Sen. Clinton, the lagging candidate couldn't be bothered to attend the vote on, potentially, the most important piece of national security legislation to pass the Senate in a year (although she has indicated that she would have voted against it if present). As the folks over at NRO note:
I cant stand Hillary's youtube page, they censor comments that speak of the truth about her. Like her retarded debate ad that's airing in Wisconsin, acting like obama runs from tough decisions.
being a swede, I might not be able to vote but I can still have a say here, sure it's Obama forum and you're likely to agree but between Obama and Clinton, isn't it so that Obama keeps talking on what he tends to do, while Hillary just rallies troops and says how much she loves the particular town she happens to be, I love you Paso, I love you Houston, family here family there? Go Obama, go Wisconsin!!
I just realized that the Obama Campaign here on YouTube does not check every comment. When I tried to post a comment on a Clinton video (the new ad in WI), it said its pending review. So apparently they only allow Clinton-praising comments, which is definetly how democracy works, right? *sigh*
I was supporting hilary till she started picking states. I dont trust her, she is fake. I will not vote for her when she comes to Texas because all she cares about is winning not the true welfare of us
I just tried to comment on Hillary's Debate Ad video. All I did was attempt to explain in 500 words or less the problems with moratoriums and interest rate freezes. I got "comment pending approval" And noticed that only Hillary favorable comments are posted. Is this true on the Obama videos too?
If anyone finds the footage of the rest of this town hall meeting (or at least the q&a part) PLEASE let me know! I've been on a quest to find it all night!
Clinton has a desparate and shameless attack ad that states "maybe he'd prefer to give speeches than to have to answer questions" Obama has participated in many debates this primary season and is scheduled for three more. The ad claims he has no response to Clinton's UHC plan and economic proposals. According to this commercial, "the debate will be moderated by ABC's George Stephonapoulos who is a former aid to Clinton's husband, former President Bill Clinton" a swift response is NECESSARY.
he's a smart man with a lot of good ideas and he has a good heart because he's been there. that kind of experience is invaluable. if we the american people start paying attention, we have a better chance of fighting the bigwigs. obama has got our attention and that can only be good. go obama!
Look at him being all wonky and full of substance. Of course the mainstream media won't cover this and of course McCain & Hillary will ignore it for their talking point of "empty suit" and "platitudes."
And yeah, this is kind of boring which is GREAT! Boring but real and SMART solutions from the guy. This is the kind of behind the scenes thinking I want from our President. But let's be honest, we as Americans need to know he can think like this, but also talk like he does to inspire us.
Audience looked bored. One man can not fix all our problems simply as being President (or woman) but Obama can bring our Congress together to bring changes that have positive affects on citizens. Not just a government benefiting the wealthy on the back of our labor.
Obama is my pick, but I find it interesting that while millions of people are losing their homes, they are (talking) about solutions.. If they were serious, they would pass a bill tomorrow to put a stop to it.. So While I am inspired with hope from Obama, I wish he would do something now to help people out.. He is still a Senator, and can do something now.. So if he is serious, he will do something.. Actions speak louder than words..
even with his hectic schedule, he manages to keep track of the housing market and explain the intricate issues with such eloquence. compare this video to that of Bush explaining social security...
It's so refreshing to see a presidential candidate *think* on his feet--stumbling occasionally to find the right word, but articulating a logical, thoughtful response to a difficult economic problem. The fact that Barack Obama can do this is why I voted for him.
I work with as a loan officer. I am in favor of these new laws. My company is very strict about disclosing every detail about a loan we write up. We are recorded on our final approval call and an auditor will follow that call help to make sure we did things right. Where we lose out is when our customers decide not to work with use because a scummy company like Countrywide promises them the world and puts them in a bad loan. Or worse yet.. drags them on for two months then turns them down.
Anyone who thinks that Obama is all rhetoric . . . he obviously knows what he's talking about. It's just that the average citizen doesn't unless that situation applies to them specifically, so he can't talk about all of his specific ideas all the time.
I AM A WHITE MALE VOTER REPUBLICAN 47 FL TRUE REPUBLICAN BUT MY PARTY HAS NOTHING TO OFFER RUNNING FOR OFFICE AND I WILL NOT VOTE FOR JOHN McCAIN, MIKE HUCKABEE, HILLARY CLINTON SO I HAVE 2 CHOICES DONT VOTE OR SEEK A NEW DIRECTION STAND UP FOR CHANGE BE COUNTED VOTE FOR A NEW DIRECTION FOR OUR KIDS FUTURES FOR OUR COUNTRYS FUTURE CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN BARACK OBAMA A NEW DIRECTION IN 2008 VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA WE CAN CHANGE WASHINGTON IF WE ALL STAND UP VOTE FOR CHANGE!
