@onthedrums3 I'm not exactly sure. But you might try sticking a static cling sticker of some kind to the head to see if it stays on. That might tell you if it'll work or not.
@DjABBlends Yes they do both. They can print directly onto a bass drum head, or deliver a removable static cling decal. Honestly you can't tell the difference between the two. You might think you'd be able to, but even up close, you can't tell.
I tried this method but it is not easy. The easiest way to open up a port hole is to get a kickport which comes with a 3M plastic ring which lets you cut a hole with a X-ACTO type knife. Clear and easy and plus you get a kickport as extra bonus to enhance the sound of your bass drum.
@feelhysteria195 If you are needing to mic your bass drum, you can get a much better sound if you put the microphone inside of the drum. So creating a port hole allows you to stick the microphone inside of the drum.
how much are they?

@MrHoihoi14 Yeah it's safe. Just wear an oven glove when handling the hot can.

do u know how big the hole should be?
or do u just need it big enough to put ur mic in?
Titleification 1 year ago
@Titleification I don't know that there are any rules about size, but a 4 inch diameter hole is fairly standard.

@scherer77 thanks man
Titleification 1 year ago
@Titleification You can go up to 6 inches before it starts to become pointless to put a port hole in a drum head
penska13 1 year ago
@Titleification about from 4 in to 6 in if u want to make it bigger just do 6 1/2 in or 7 in
