  • except i was seeing this kind of product advertised since 1989. Someone is keeping this off the consumer market.

  • DBZ scouter!!!!

  • Handsfree while you're on the job. That's what she said.

  • commentators kill it hes kill it

  • she looks cute, forget it she is damn HOT

  • ITS OVER EIGHT THAAAAUUUUUUUSSSSSOOOOUUUUUNNNNND!!

  • VEGETA! WHAT DOES THE GOLDEN-i SAY ABOUT HIS POWER LEVEL?

  • Well I'd skip having the computer on face and let this rep complete the task for me. Wow this gal is hot! And this guy is a putz, I'd wish he'd shutup and let me take in more of this hot chick:)

  • this guy is killing the video... I love this concept, I would invest ;)

  • Check out the airscouter, its looks better.

  • damn for a second i saw THE age of siborgs hiting us in nea future

  • iis he french or what ??

  • this is cool. it works great

  • if motorola has it, the military has had it for 4 years lmao.

  • Can i have one with a missle lock on program?

I promise not to use it. I swear.

  • have they thought of some type of anal insertion camera to avoid averting the gaze? I bet thats next, for safety reasons.

  • This chick seems a little slow.

  • Soon enough we will all be dragon ball z!!!!!!

  • Wow,thats pretty cool. I guess you could like,I dunno, catalog info in it,when you need someone to know something, you can search through the headcomp and tell him/her :P

  • all i can say about this video is that its OVER 9000!!!!!

  • she is sexy

    ;)

  • Is she Lesbian? Close your eyes, it sounds like a guy.

  • Oh ya.... I can just see it now.....people getting into accidents because of checking e-mail and Twitter when driving because it is ""Hands Free""

  • Actually, it can sense motion - so software can easily disable the device.

Not intended for use while driving, running etc.

  • @kwboom

Boy your mom give me handjobs handsfree

  • by the time this is a mainstream product, the vehicle itself will be hands-free, so your point is erroneous.

  • most industrious use in 2015: watching Pr0n at work!

  • hahahahah true

  • need camera . say: camera. picture. flash on , picture. voice comand it will work i expect them in 3 years , the tech is on the market build your own. neva chip maker just need the outside interfaces software is slow(limited) right now.

  • no camera?! no flash?! it'll fail.

  • I agree, I see next to no use for this product unless it receives a high quality camera capable of augmented reality processes.

  • i'm a geek i admit...but not so much a geek i have to have my computer on my face everywhere i go lol

  • This is designed for high end industrial use and not for consumers.

Consumer type device would be totally different.

  • i hate it

  • Processor -- TI OMAP3530 clocked at 600MHz Display -- Kopin SVGA (800 x 600) liquid crystal micro display (LCD) Networking: Bluetooth 2.0 WiFi -- "Will be offered soon" User interface -- Includes speech recognition and motion sensing Other I/O -- 1 x USB Expansion -- microSD slot Power -- 1200 mAh battery provides more than eight hours of operation Weight -- 3 oz (85g) Operating system -- Windows CE
  • wow that's cool.

  • Is there Windows in??? Or is there some other OS?

  • It runs Windows CE

  • I can think of another head I would like to strap this on to.

  • It should fit right if its on your eye.

    And having a better experience.

  • Most people don't like things that touch them.

Additionally, the air gap is better for optics.

Then you actually place the display below your normal field of view so that you glance down when you need the display - kind of like if you had reading glasses.

You know, you see people that put those little glasses on the end of their nose..... like in the library.

  • True

  • I want one.

  • These devices are available as a development kit for industries that have compelling applications.

Frankly, they are on allocation now....

  • Thats cool but it seems like having problems going to all programs.

  • @AppStoreMod The microphone only captures voice commands from the person wearing it, that's why we had to bounce it on the table to try to show it on the camera. The voice commands work pretty well.

  • yeah but its only gonna improve from here on in

  • coolio

  • damn it she sounds so sexy talkin about that pc.

so sophisticated and sexy OMG i what her!!!

  • She's HOT!

  • and also i think is very ridiculous its way to big they should even more smaller...

this will even blind u... lol

  • now we are Universal Soldier Unisol we will become hahaha!

  • ROBOT OVERLORDS!

  • soooooooo cool!!! cant wait for that to be out!!!

  • This lady is a fucking ass hole.

  • how is she an asshole :/? she seemed totally cool to me...

  • And this is how the Borg Started ....

  • @sousuke121

Haha... just about to post the same thing then saw your post. Who new Motorola were the original Borg.

We are Motorola. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated....

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANG!

  • A camera on that thing would be awesome...

  • Motorrrroh lah

  • lol i think its funny how they try to show it to the camera....

  • im sorry to say but there were two things wrong with this video...that lady was a dick...and the guy interviewing cant speak english properly....

  • @RyanDuboisTV lol this is funny

  • I actually thought it was a boy.... Her voice sounds kind of like a 14 year old boys voice.

  • @RyanDuboisTV This was at an event in Barcelona. They speak other languages in other parts of the world. Perhaps it should have been in Spanish (which I speak fluently), then you wouldn't have understood anything. Cut the guy the some slack on his English. I could understand him well enough.

  • Well at least we know how the next generation of nerds gonna look like.

  • I look forward to this and an app that will tell me people's power level.

  • @yusufer5000

in most cases my power level is OVER 9000!

  • lol.. chuck Norris' power level is 9001

  • @Filender ITS OVER 9000!

  • hahahahahaha Dude ROFL

  • thats stupid as shit. you would not want to by hands free wile being distracted by that wile working. its better to have to stop to use your computer. you wont be trying to wrok at the same time you wont wolk off the roof by accident. and that voice shit wont work on a contruction site. the noise from machenery you would have to yell at it. like that would work. this is defanatly a fail. nobody in the feild is going to want one of these.

  • @pcbuilder97

There are professions where you would need a 3rd hand a lot.

I'm about to be an electrician my self , and already noticed that I'd like to hold up the meter too...

And noise cancelling is old news. There are earmuffs that strengthen the voices without including racket. :P

  • well i dont like it. id be much happier with a toughbook. that way you dont have to try to juggle two things at once and screw up what your doing. we use diagnostic computers everyday at my job. and no way in hell would i want one of these rigs. it would just get in the way. we just use magnetic attachments we stick our toughbook anyware and it stays. thats better than this thing. i cant even stand glasses when im working they get in the way. so this thing would be useless to me.

  • Makes sense, especially if you really need a stationary full screen and full size keyboard.

PC's are for PC type use, this will go toward data fusion which will not happen with a stationary device - stay tuned and it will make more sense as things progress.

    You bring up excellent points.

  • They say that the microphone is very focused on only captures the sound coming from the person wearing it. In this video demo it only kind of worked because her voice was reflected on the flat table surface very close to the microphone.

  • @pcbuilder97 I am in the process of building a wearable computer. The main thing I need to get it up and running is the head mounted display, which I should be getting soon. I suspect that I would have trouble paying attention to the display while doing other things, like walking. So I would just need to pause while I am using the computer. So safety isn't that big of a concern if you understand your limitations and use the device appropriately.

  • Geared toward the work level engineer or technician this thing would be wonderfull.

  • Comment removed

  • IT'S OVER 9000!!!!!

  • @JustinPuu well dude,

    tTHATS FUCKT UP

  • i though motorola went bankrupt cuz they made such crap phones? lol

  • its over 9000 ROFL

  • 15" may sound impressive to the ladies but resolution is just as important.

A 15" screen with 640x480 resolution is not as good as a 6" screen with 1280x720 resolution display.

As was demonstrated, voice activation is still quirky and extremely annoying.

It always strikes me as odd that companies design these solutions and then go looking for problems to solve. Shouldn't the device design be based on solving an existing problem?

  • Actually, the idea is to provide a large enough "perceived" viewable screen that people can use a small handheld for most of their work and have access to a large screen when they need it.

Of course, higher resolution is always a bonus....and you will see all these things happen in the future. This technology is here and now kind of stuff.

Not from the lab....but mass production capable.

  • @FatoDrunkoAndoStupid The display is 800X600, which is still pretty low res. But for a head mounted display that's rather good resolution. Also, if you have a custom designed interface, then the resolution is less of an issue. For viewing technical drawings and the like, 800X600 would be fine. It all comes down to what you are using the computer for.

  • im not gay but that guy is hidieous

  • I R Robot....

  • That would be great for MOBILE PORN.

  • OMG YES.

  • @troglodyte3344 ROFL imagine walking around and saying my videos porn1 so that everybody can hear you and be like ..... lol

  • yah right... and i guess it will cost thousands of dollars.. and the only thing you can do to it is saying "My videos"....

  • Holy shit! if you dont get head canser by using this..!

  • Man & Machine

  • The British Royal Marine Commandos already use such a device on one of their eyes attached to their helmet. A small screen that can highlight friendlies on the field in the distance up to 5 miles viewing distance.

I guess it's the same thing, so nothing new really. I see it more as a concept than being of any "real" use to be honest.

  • @nobby300 Wearable computing is a fairly old concept. It dates back to the 80's. It just hasn't really caught on. Which is unfortunate. I can see it being very useful for some people. Greg Priest Dorman for example uses a wearable for his disabilities. I plan on doing the same thing once I get a wearable built. So wearable computers have uses other than just industry. The trick is people getting used to the idea of having a display on their head and looking like a borg reject.

  • This is the kind of product interview that you feel sorry for. Interviewer and interviewee weren't too interested in each other.

  • i know it's probably quite advanced, but this is going to be one of the things we'll be laughing our ass off at in 10 years.

  • cool

  • she been watching too much captain scarlet

  • she lost interest in what he was saying at 2:31 not lisaning yes ok that eany thing you say

  • i bit nutty

  • WHAT?? 9000??

  • cool

  • lol we are closer to getting scouters! XD

  • emf strait into your eye.

  • that looks like some super spy terminator shit i want one

  • That is a sweet piece of kit. seems a bit combersome tho. I wonder how useful and practical it really its. Right now it's not very stylish either. plus i'd say it could hurt your eye after a while.

  • that's fucking dumbass bullshit, u knew motorola just plain fails, but this is something i didnt even expect from motorola :O

  • WHO LET HER OUT OF THE KITCHEN?

  • Yeah. But it looks ridiculous...

  • pretty cool idea, but i doubt this will out sale the smart phones out there.

  • I want to slap the interviewer.

  • It looks fucking retarded, and it looks retarded for other people if you're talking to something in front of your face.. think about it, would you realy want to look like this? O.o

  • This is pointless.

  • Eh still i think phones will eventually slap this out of the market....

  • that is sux a fail

  • Nice concept. I like this idea. However,, blind people will have trouble using this.

  • @oliver18754 i hope that was a joke lol my blind friend cant do much with his computer, he can pretty much only make word documents, everything else is usualy too much info for him to process. like the internet cuz of all the advertisments is useless cuz the computer starts saying every advertisment

  • @XxDisciple666xX You can set firefox to block scripts, thus eliminating most of the ads.

  • @oliver18754

Blind peoples will have troubles using computer

  • @oliver18754 You just have to make a wearable that doesn't use a display. Greg Priest Dorman uses a wearable with no display for a while.

  • Truly portable porn. Technology has brought us far :P

  • She looks like Lady Gaga without all the makeup.

  • i guess you can watch porn whenever and wherever you like then

  • Comment removed

  • fag

  • forget the computer I want her!

  • Looked like iPhone or iPod Touch icons lol I don't know, I'd just want to take along a small computer with me instead of looking like a moron or a nerdy cyborg!

  • 24/7 porno

  • Don't think people would want that.

  • @HiThereImAlex I do! Not that device specifically, but I am building a wearable computer. I have wanted one for YEARS. But, I can see most people not wanting one.

  • why not have a fucking watch with a wireless mic!!! must better and dont look shit!

  • The Sixth sense computer is way better than this.

Look it up on Youtube, it's the future of mobile computers.

  • what if someone was watching porn in public with one of those things?

  • what does your scoutmeter say about it's level? ITS OVER 9000!!!!!! ^__^

  • She has class

  • shes kinda cute

  • I want that sooooooooo bad, only it looks really stupid

  • Wonder how well it would work in a noisy environment.

  • charbox rules! "coup-eee aund paust" lol :-)

  • WATCH OUT!!! FALLING PRICES!!!

    Hahaha

lame... this is something that lame ass engineers are going have waste money on, and drive arround pretending to be important.

So, it is a cell that you wear on your head... I love it!

Voice activated is OK, but talking like a robot is obnoxious. I'd like to see a the main douche bag at the construction site wearing this, so all the regular wage slaves can see the price of success.

All that aside, finding out who those lamers are...

    Priceless.

  • It is not a cellular device.

  • nerdy = win

  • Cool, looks like future tech

  • Damn. The borg queen is hot.

  • somebody find her name

  • so hott, just the way i like um, neerrdy

  • Cool.. and that woman had a sexy voice!

  • It looks so cool! Two thumps UP!

  • i want one

  • motoĞola :))))))

  • This thing would be annoying to have before everyone else because people would just steal the helmet off your head.

  • As long as voice recognition quality is crap (as demonstrated convincingly in the demo), this kind of thing will be unfeasible. But a few years from now, who knows...

  • i think they should just rename this to scouter and have a random number that always fluctuates over 9000 and mass produce them, they would make a lot more money that way.

  • Dude, you're my HERO!

  • wow most annoying interviewer ever.

  • It can be used in the field to show a map along with GPS. This way troops do not need to constantly compute for true north while on the move. You could still be able to hold all your gear including weapon while on the move.

  • @zmansporscheboxster Yes, such technology must make it easier to destroy nations and smash resistance to U.S. dominance of the world. Just one more way in which technology can make this a better world.

  • Yes, you are correct.....

More likely to be used in construction to avoid digging up a high voltage line or a gas main.

  • @zmansporscheboxster The US military has already been experimenting with wearable computing. Look up "land warrior" here on youtube. It's a pretty impressive system. The only problem is early versions were VERY VERY slow. I don't know about current versions.

  • Thats really cool!!! but imaginge going down the street, everybudy would be all like "what is that retarded thing she's wearing" LOL i still might buy one.

  • i suppose if everyone was wearing one no one would say that

  • @macnerd93 Bingo! It's like with cellphone ear pieces. They are common enough nowadays that it doesn't look out of place to see someone walking down the street talking. If wearable computers caught on, then you wouldn't look odd with a display on your head.

  • What does the scouter say about his power level?!?!

  • @MasterOfTheXP its over 9000!!!!

  • WHAT!? 9000!? That can't be right!

  • How much will it be?

  • I reckon it won't be long until the monitor is like a transparent screen that is able to run augmented reality on its interface.

  • Yes, this has been done, but it is super expensive.

  • @Superior91 It's already been done. There have been a number of transparent head mounted displays made in the past. For example the displays made by Microvision.

  • we are right here at motoewrola lol

  • This would be awesome for schematics.

  • Yes and you can pan as if the schematic or diagram is 10 feet wide.....kind of the iMax experience but in the field.

  • She said, "Do you want me to hold it and show it." ahahahaha, yes please.

  • cuz that wont give you cancer...

  • I want one.

    <
