Yeeeess!!! How much would i give to be around in those days, growing up in Ireland in the 80's and 90's there was no where to listen to this music, im blessed to have found it.. Nothing compares to the Firm Rollaz!!...
This song came out in the spring of 1968. Each spring I think of this song. This just goes to show that not all great groups from Detroit were MOTOWN products. That said, listen to all of their songs - most you will like , some you may not, but they were very good. This and Dream are my favorites.
Big Wedge ........ I guess the times of the pass can never be relived , only our memories can be preserved and shared with others . I wish that i had the money and knowledege to establish a radio station myself , i'm 100% sure that i would kick off a new generation of faithful listeners . Freshly adopted brothers and sister of all walks of life into this realm of music we speak of - R & B [ mainly ] from the 50's thru the 70's . To the people in the know , the flip side has allways been ... IT.
Before FM,AM was king. Here in NYC,we had WWRL(probably the greatest lineup of blk DJs) and WNJR out of Newark. We have to give props to these stations for exposing us to this great music at an early age.
Peterbrush1 , that right on . KGFJ - A.M. was cranking out some good tune here in L.A. so CAL in the 60's and early 70's . Then about 1974-75 " KUTE - 102 F.M. started up with some solid R&B SOUL ........ Also later in the 90's - 2000's radio station 102.3 - K ACE with more beautiful R&B music ......... Why do they have to close all the good stations down ? I think i know , but i'll reserve my opinion ...........
@pajado75 OMG I KNOW U DID NOT SAY KGFJ THAT WAS THA STATION BACK IN THE 60'S BEING RAISED ON THE EASTSIDE OF L.A THAT WAS ALL WE HAD WAS OUR MUSIC AND THE PARTIES WERE THE MOST!!!!!!. LOVED ITTTTT.
@pajado75 You're right on the money! Born and raised in South Central, we had some great radio stations, KGFJ, KUTE102.3 out of Glendale, KACE, and I would throw KRLA into that mix as well. SOCAL radio today, is an absolute disaster, DJs with no personality, and the music selections are worse than dreadful! It's too bad but it seems the best days of radio are long gone.
Another classic that you do not hear much. Beside being a great song the message it carries is very powerful. Kind of makes me think it would be good for today's generation.
This is an all time favorite of mine. Reminds me of my cruising days with the homegirls in the 70's. Always looking for trouble. Today trouble looks for me.....LOL
