  • by 0:29 AAAAAAAAAAAIIH ouh?

  • he went out with a big bang

  • Gentlemen, I know how I want to die...

  • I like how James Earl Jones asks about Maj, Kong...when in all reality, since the bomb's fall wasn't parachute-delayed, the plane was probably severley damaged or even knocked out of the sky by the blast wave.

  • ...did he die..?

  • I hope he's okay

  • I think he's dead, but his balls may have shielded him from the blast. Not sure which.

  • Take that, Maynard G. Krebs!!!

  • Best scene from any movie!

  • need this as a ringtone

  • Major Kong is now my idol

  • Balls of

    Uranium...

This is a thought provoking scene , and to not understand the purpose of this movie you won't enjoy it to its fullest awesomeness

  • @sgtbshop32

    I hate you forever.

  • Forgot to disarm the nuke again, did you?

  • Now, this man trully regreted nothing! lol

  • "Here Lies Major Kong, The only man with enough balls to ride a nuke as if it were a fucking bull" Is what his tombstone reads.

  • @Spootchies Of course there's nothing in grave, since he became part of the fallout!

  • AMERICA, FUCK YEAH!

  • Also, how did they film this in the 60's. I'm assuming they built a model of the rocket and just played another video in the background, like how they drove cars back then in movies.

  • I wonder if anybody here actually understands that this scene was not meant to be patriotic, it's meant to be disturbing.

  • @Stiny114 Definitely, see the movie. Not only will this sequence make sense, but it's a great movie in general.

  • @Obfuscationist The radar approach of the Russian attack missile is pretty cool.

  • @Stiny114 Why are you watching this? It won't make any sense whatsoever if you haven't seen it! Yeesh.

  • @GamingJesters I did watch it. I removed my comment.

  • @Stiny114 What did you think?

  • @GamingJesters LOVED IT!!!

  • @Stiny114 AWESOME!! :D

  • I thught Japan does not tolerate anything related to nukes?

  • Slim Pickens and Strother Martin were the best character actors ever!!!

  • This is actual footage of the strike that killed Bin Laden.

  • @thatguywiththeegg DURR HURR YOU HAS A funny.

  • @thatguywiththeegg EXACLY pure fiction!

  • @thatguywiththeegg bin ladden is not dead all knows

  • @sgtbshop32 No he died 5 or 6 years ago from kidney failure! The man was on dialysis and living in caves, think about it!

  • @thatguywiththeegg I cannot confirm or deny that.

  • @thatguywiththeegg After all the soldiers US/Canada lost :{ we should have got rid of the rest of the "tribe" to

  • This is the way I want to die,

    Riding a nuke onto Ke$ha..

  • @96FreakyStyley LOLLOL

  • NO, @TheDirectorofFoo, He didn't Die! However He did Grow to an Incredibly Huge Size.Yes,His Swannstucker was Enormous. That's when He began to attack things like the HollandTunnel,The GrandCanyon,& Paris Hilton! The Government just couldn't bring themselves to kill Him since He was such a DedicatedOfficer. So they were able to Dart Him with a knock out drug,& move Him to the Arctic for CryogenicStorage until they can CureHim,or use Him in a War! The mere sight of His Photo has stopped Wars before!

  • Must have watched this film 20 times over the last 35 years and it dose get better but sadder as what was shown has come to pass so much blindness to our mistakes seen and recorded by Kubrick All his films give us insight into a part of ourselves

  • One of the if not the best movie scenes of all time.

  • @ERROLCUSTERFLYNN4EVR Americans sleep good knowing that I manned a 'Nuke site with pride. Click on to what wakes me every day like clock work: youTube: Minuteman Launch 0:32 sec. (Love to America!)

  • He'll see the big bored

    best line ever

  • This is a video from the future where Kong rides the bomb straight down into Mecca during Ramadan. :D

  • you may be correct as an public named policy .. but MAD was used earlier when ICBM/nuclear subs could survive a first attack & "assure" a viable second strike that ended of the world (DSL was based on Red Alert -1958.) The Crisis provided Kennedy & Khrushchev a clear view of the precipice that they were leaning over .. that's my point & why I thought DSL was visionary .. Jan1964 debute <missile crisis Oct 1962 <1959 Kubrick optioned Red Alert 3 yrs before Cuba - at least that's my understanding

  • Man, talk about going out with a bang!

  • How ironic would it be if they missed?

  • He and Khrushchev saw this reality when there war machines didn't. really ... !!! our reality could have been a smoldering blue orb circling the sun ... This is one of the funniest, starkest, most sarcastic commentary on war, politics and man-kind's future if we don't figure out how to live "differently" without war ... it's as relevant as ever, just different. ... watch "the final Scene" for what's after the "epic" ride ... then watch the whole thing to get the "essence" ... don't miss it !

  • for everyone that said "that's the way they would like to go out" ... the entire point of the movie ... is exactly the opposite. That MAD is crazy ... that is M-utually A-ssured D-estructions which was actually the political policy of the time, the political and military build up that supported both the USA and USSR ... for those that are too young, in 1962 we were at the brink of nuclear holocaust with the Cuban Missile Crisis... Kennedy averted a real life end, like in the movie only by hours

  • @renaissantthree the policy of MAD didn't come into force until after the USSR achieved nuclear parity with the US (during the Nixon/Breznev years). There was no such policy during the era of the Cuban missile crisis.

  • @halfglassed- you may be correct as a public named policy .. but MAD was used earlier when ICBM/nuclear subs could survive a first attack & "assure" a second strike that ended the world (DSL was based on Red Alert -1958) The Crisis provided Kennedy & Khrushchev a clear view of the precipice that they were leaning over .. that's my point & why I thought DSL was visionary .. Jan1964 debute<missile crisis Oct 1962 <1959 Kubrick optioned Red Alert 3 yrs before Cuba - at least that's my understanding

  • @halfglassed ... BTW the movie Fail Safe was released in 1964 (written in 1962) and On The Beach was released in 1959 and interestingly placed in future after WW3 in 1964 (written in 1957) ... all these epic films are based on MAD... now there is a fun evening of movies, popcorn and razor blades

  • @renaissantthree I don't disagree that the concept of MAD existed, but it was not implemented as policy until after the Cuban Missile Crisis. If it did exist, as MAD dictates, Kennedy should have had little problem with Soviet warheads in Cuba, expecially knowing full well that the US had similar installations in Turkey (if I'm not mistaken). Anyway, thanks for the film suggestions. I've always preferred the old 'epics' over todays cinematics.

  • YAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • one of the funniest parts ive ever seen in a movie !

  • Maj. Kong FTW!!!

  • LMAO GREATEST Part in the film

  • omg i almost cried when i saw this it was so funny. lol was he like oblivious that he was riding on an atomic bomb? ha i think my teacher almost had a heart attack he was laughing so hard.lol best scene

  • "a ver ahora fumense esto, que les parecio barbones piojosos"!!! jajaja

  • i think the whole movie was just a build up to this seen

  • He had a few seconds to jump off. THAT is badass

  • This is how chuck norris was created!!

  • @Devilsblood So,this means that Chuck Norris was created when two leftover atoms of Major Kong's massive balls collided?

  • Best death scene ever!!!!

  • woah...that was coool huuhuuuh :P

  • Happy for Major Kong. He finally used his 25 killstreak nuke like a champ.

  • @WuTangShogun36 Re-pasters suck...

  • Doing something like this automatically inducts you into the Badass Hall of Fame.

  • This is how I want to die.

  • @Tomading

    Fuckin' A!

  • Major Kong may have died, but he will live forever

  • there is a parody of this in the simpsons

  • @ghiribizzi Wrong way, genius.

  • ¡¡Que les parecio barbones piojosos!!

  • @doarner noche de ronda dame tu obsesion paloma negra en el rincon de una cantina (chasqueando los dedos)

  • The only thing that would possibly make this more epic: If he landed on the IRS building XD

  • someone explain the situation to me as i have not seen this movie i can not make any sense of it

  • @pobpob5 Impossible to explain, especially with a 500 character limit. Go and watch the movie, it's one of the best movies ever made. Portrays how ridiculous the "cold war" was...

  • @tmafkap yeah i have been asking my friends about it and they said they didn't know about it thanks i should go out and rent it

  • @pobpob5 The movie was based on the Cold War premise of Mutually Assured Destruction in the event of Nuclear War. In this scene, Slim Pickens ( a great character actor) plays a Texan who's a Major in the Air Force. When their nuclear payload wouldn't drop because of a malfunction over Russia he went to the bomb bay and manually released it while sitting on the nose cone and rode it to the ground like any good Texan would.

  • No matter how amazing you are, you shall never be as awesome as Kong here.

  • Admit it, most of the lads here would want to go out like that.

  • @HankJwimbleton876 Hey, I'm a chic and I wanna go out like this.

  • I agree with "abridgefan107." If I had my absolute choice as to my mode of departure from this dimension, I would opt for precisely the way Slim Pickens/Major Kong ends it all in this scene.

  • All joking aside, the actor who played the pilot was told that this was a serious war film...

  • That's an expensive way to go.

  • Major Kong knew had to ride 'em! Also the guy who said "what about Major Kong?" was none other than James Earl Jones, the voice of Darth Vader.

  • @hyrdrogenalpha "You have failed me for the last time....Major Kong"

  • i want to die this way, if given the opportunity.

  • @abridgedfan107 same this would be a worthy death

  • Going out with a bang

  • "Hi there!"

  • Now THAT is the way to go out. Way to go, Slim!

  • LOL! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • This man clearly had balls the size of America.

  • @Martinntoxx if i had to pick a way to die. that would be it. wouldnt feel a damn thing

  • @Martinntoxx GOD BLESS Maj Kong; That man sure could focus on his job!

  • @Martinntoxx I lol'd. Thanks man.

  • Did he die?

  • @TheDirectorofFoo i think he went to the old west to race against horses whit his bomb

  • @TheDirectorofFoo He's with his dog now... ;0)

  • @TheDirectorofFoo No, he's still alive, what do you think re re ?!

  • @Mr311Jwo

Dont say Re re, Sounds Gay.

  • @TheDirectorofFoo

No he had no injuries and he was fine.

    WTF DO YOU THINK?

  • @ProductionsHead That he trolled you to no end. Thats what I think.

  • @TheDirectorofFoo Yes, colon cancer.

  • @TheDirectorofFoo THATS A BLOODY ATOMIC BOMB WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK !?!?!?!?!?!!?

  • @darius89ify I would presume that he survived and became a marvel super hero or villain.

  • @RicoPenguin Good point I stand corrected :) Sorry I was rather over enthusiastic

  • @TheDirectorofFoo Yeah he did.

  • @TheDirectorofFoo I didnt see any refrigorators so i presume not

  • He looks a lot like Quasimodo from the old Hunchback of Notre Dame with Charles Laughton when he begins riding the bomb.

  • Lol, Hi there! *Fwoosh*

  • Imagine how many times you'd have to detonate an atom bomb if you didn't get the right shot the first few times.

  • Better "fall to certain death sound" than Goofy!

  • why did he do that?

  • @williambirkin1 Because that is how you deliver a bomb in the most freaking awesome way possible

  • @bubbajimmy8 i suppose so

  • @williambirkin1 watch the movie you cannot explain it in 1 paragraph

  • @williambirkin1

I suppose I can explain it by him being the kind of guy where every setback just strengthens his resolve. The plane was damaged by a missile attack, communications were cut off, they were low on fuel, and then they discovered that the bomb doors had jammed. He was determined to get those bombs off no matter what, so he went down to open the doors manually, and was exhilarated when he finally succeeded.

  • did... did he die?

  • @shepski4 obviously he died, that a nuke he is on

  • If I could choose my method of departing this dimension, I would opt to go out precisely in the manner of Slim Pickens in this classic clip.

  • He sure did take what the Kurgen from Highlander said quite literally: it truly IS better to burn out then to fade away! xDD...after the dusts cleared however we'll find he's done both xDD

  • Even though you just killed alot of people, Saint Peter would still let you into heaven just for haveing the most AWSOME, death he's seen in centuries!

  • @ssonic15 Oh yeah! Went out in a blaze of glory.

  • Man if i could pick a way to die, this would be the way i would want to go.

  • It isn't a surprise attack when you put a crazy guy yelling "yeehaw" and waving a cowboy hat around.

  • A piece of cinematic history. Absolute genius.

  • if your life lost the meaning,do this.

  • Now thats ending with a bang.

  • 0:27 "Hey, what about Major Kong?" - James Earl Jones in a bit part.

  • EXCELENT!

  • wtf that was the greatest deathscene ever

  • Slim Pickens was such a character and this sketch was one of the most funny ones in all classic films, it makes me always smile each time i see it.

  • same thing would happen without the bomb

  • epic death

  • @fdnfdjnedb If you think about it, if it weren't fictional, there'd have been no one there to see you die sat on the bomb as it descended and ultimately exploded. It's a film though, so millions have seen it; but I think you get my drift - right?

  • thats how The Dark Knight should've ended

  • hey what the hell, you're gonna die, might as well enjoy it lol

  • YAAAAHOOOOO!!!!

    Bombs away!

  • RIP Slim Pickens

  • 0:13 Bomb bay Doors open and Major Kong screams.

    0:19 Major Kong shouts YEEHAA!

0:25 Nuclear Bomb "HI THERE" Drops along with Major Kong.

0:29 Major Kong enjoys riding the bomb like a horse through the wind scream and shouting Yeehaa that's an trure cowboy!

  • EPIC!!!

  • Major Kong.

    He PWNs.

  • He went out with a bang.

  • Thats one hell of a way to go!

  • It's difficult to see that version, but the bombs got an imprint saying "Nuclear weapon, handle with care". Epic!

  • For a great documentary on a depiction of the Hiroshima Bomb

look for Tableau No.2: 8.15AM.MON.6AUG.1945 in My Videos Section. Directed by multi award winner, Ike Ong DGGB.

  • rednecks gonna destroy the world

  • @HehlenIsis He's not a redneck.

  • So that's what John McCain meant when he said to "pull the trigger" on Iran. That's right ladies, and gentlemen, John McCain is Major Kong.

  • One of the most iconic moments in the history of cinema. Kubrick will never be topped.

  • That's how I wanna die

  • R.I.P. Slim, see ya on the other side

  • wouldn't even feel it.

  • Slim Pickens... De-Urban CowBoy

  • Going out with a bang!

  • This is how I want to go. >.>

  • what a way to go!

  • Major Kong is completely fixated on achieving his goal despite all obstacles. When the plane is partially disabled by an AA missile and cannot reach the primary target he insists on finding the closest alternative target opportunity. When the bomb bay doors won't open he leaves his pilot post to fix them himself (no junior officer can do the job?). When the bomb finally drops he rides it in orgiastic delirium to oblivion.

  • @camprunamok

    tl;dr

    YAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
