  • Gee -Must there be more divisions--Catholic girls are much the same only their religion was before Islam-Protestant girls like wise only their religion came after Islam-United we must be-only the seven deadly sins seperate us

  • Gee -Catholic girls are much the same only their religion was before Islam

  • Wonderful to see these talented Muslim girls. I hope Muslim men--this does not mean all Muslim men--will lose their chauvinism because the struggle to improve the lives of all Muslims will require the effort of Muslim women.

  • ...overly impressed. congratulations ossi.

  • Thats great! We need more of these :)

  • peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for homeless women? hmmmm........

  • Weren't the Greeks at war with the Persians?

  • turks

  • my goodness. these people are a discrace to bengalis man, honestly.

  • Well done.

  • this is wonderful!

  • Impressive! Go Gamma Gamma Chi Ladies! To all the haters, get a life! You obviously need one if you have time to criticize these young ladies.

  • What's wrong with American muslims, NO HIJAB, BROTHERS WALKING FREELY BEHIND THE SISTERS WHILE THEIR ARE PRAYING>>!!! I'M NOT SHOCKED. THE MUSLIM PEOPLE NEED A REALALITY CHECK IN AMERICA!

  • You're angry get laid!

  • these people do not represent the majority of muslims in america. most america muslim women wear a min of headscarf

  • Do you have statistics? There are a LOT of Muslim sisters that do not wear Hijab. What difference does it make as long as Allah is in their hearts? Congratulations to these young women and their desire to do something for the betterment of their community.

  • LOL, goes the same for douchebag frats!

  • And it included new information - hence, News. I was glad to watch it and learn from it.

  • Interesting. Continue the postive road to freedom. And I think by creating this organization helps people inform people of their religion and culture and how they can do postive things in the community. So they break away from your usually any fox news promoting bullshit lies about all Muslims...Allah is great!

  • Unfortunately if Islam continues on the path it's on these young ladies will not be allowed to be educated or put makeup on. Under Sharia(sp) they will be hidden under burkas and forced to marry against thier will If moderate Islam soes not stand up and fight the extremeists now, they will be forever lost.

  • muslim women has right to education. they can do make up for their husband not for outside man. They are not forced to wear veil( I wish them to wear though)Allah knows the best for them. There is no marriage against your willings in Islam. SOme traditions that are practiced is not Islam.

  • lol u are muslim u cant party?? wtf does that mean?

  • u can party, just not with the whole boy-girl dancing, drinking, drugs etc. scene

  • not only muslims are non drinking i dont do drugs kind of people, just for your information :D

  • the verb party as in "to party" now means drinking

  • very interesting you keep the good work girls.

  • very good, would be interesting to see this chapter expand all over the country.

  • :o was that "like dat" singing "we are family"?

  • What, if anything, does this sorority have to do with Islam? Secondly, how do girls obsessed with makeup and dancing intend to promote Islam? There is more to Islamic life than simply avoiding alcohol and fornication. In conclusion, this video is ridiculous.

  • You think they are obsessed with makeup and dancing or do you think that, maybe, the editors were illustrating the point of differentiated assimilation?

  • What an interesting idea !

  • im curious as to why this is considered news? theres sororitys and fraternitys for pretty much every group you can think of in the u.s. im sure this isnt the first one. i mean, out of thousands of colleges only this one has a muslim society? right.

  • The purpose of this video:

"Muslims! Start more fraternities and sororities on your campuses! Separate yourselves from American culture. The Islamic takeover is coming soon. Prepare yourselves!!"

    -Al Jazeera

  • Why did she laugh after saying that she will 'stay pure"?

  • And remember ladies, stay away from those infidel boys!

  • I care, because I see what's going on and it seems like mass media(i.e., Lou Dobbs or Rupert Murdoch) is influencing americans to think a certain way. A way that seems contrary to the core of american democracy. Basically national talk shows are doing our thinking for us. What you said 22 hours ago, sounds like something Pat Buchanan or Lou Dobbs would say.

  • I think for myself thanks and I don't even watch either of those guys. I mean I don't even have a television. I'm hardly a victim of mass media. Also, fuck Rupert Murdoch and his whole Fox News Klan.

  • I'm American, my family came over here 4 generations ago from Germany. I don't speak German, I don't wear laderhosen, I probably have no more idea what German culture is about than you do. If you come to this country, if you are born here, you are an American just like me. America is about assimilation and it's been then way for a long time. This "lets preserve everyones culture" crap is contrary to the core of American Democracy.

  • yeah, but your family's first generation was more german than the fourth....

  • ...Heck we celebrate the fourth of July with Hot Dogs and Hamburgers (german food). what could be more american that the Pizza. Maybe in 10 years a falfafel will be as american as the taco...

  • ...Sometimes preserving one' culture in a multi-cultural America is needed if you want to preserve your identity.

There is not one dominate American culture but there are dominate regional cultures. Look at the Southern folks down south. Maryland was founded as an Irish Catholic state, but I'm assuming your german heritage did alright in Maryland.

  • What your saying doesn't even make sense. Your identity is who you are as an individual. If you need to be a part of some group to have an identity than I fell sorry for you. Yeah, I'm really not even sure what point you are trying to make with all the Maryland stuff, thanks for viewing my profile though, hope you enjoyed it.

  • Yes, that's what happens when you have integration of cultures. If anyones got some tasty foods or whatever they want to bring on over and share with the rest of us that's great. My problem is with separating yourself from the rest of us. I'm not anti-falafel, but I do really prefer shawarmas if I had to pick a middle eastern food.

  • eh, forget about it...this argument could go on forever.

But being part of a group is the first part of your identity, the second part is how others define you and your group, and the third part is how you define youself.

Some people see themselves as "Hyphenated Americans", Some see themselves as "Americans." Both are fine with me.

  • Well, obviously I think you've got that backwards but whatever. I just think the less reasons we have to think of each other as different the better.

  • ??????

  • You will set a good example for the Greek system. When I was in college there was the brotherhood aspect of greek life, but the sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll were also huge. Having a house that doesn't have sex and drugs will certainly set a good example.

  • These girls gave up a lot of their Muslim obligated duties to fit in to this sorority cult! Sisters one thing I need to say as advise is HIJAB!!!

That's fard/mandatory for every Muslim woman!

  • As far as the letters go you miss the forest for the trees. I agree Arabic is beautifully written but is not the tradition. To the paranoid who think every Muslim is a bomb maker, get therapy, read international news & get a grip for goodness sake!

  • Hooray 4 U girls! I think its wonderful Stick with ideals of philanthropy. I joined a sorority in 80's but was disappointed that it became nothing more than "sisters" getting wasted, throwing up & sleeping with others boyfriends. Too much focus in US on fullfilling our endless selfish physical needs- shop, drink, eat to excess.

  • ok than why are they not on during the whole video

  • you always wear a skull cap?

  • Not all Muslim women wear hijab. At least not all the time. My Muslim friend doesn't wear hijab but still wears modest clothes and observes Ramadan.

  • How can you claim your a muslimah and not wear a hijab. It is kind of a hypocracy

  • They wear them at the end of the video.

  • They wear hijab w/ their Muslim friends at 1:26

  • The melting pot theory is ethnocentric...America should be like a salad...where each ingredient (person) adds its own unique and complimentary flavor to the rest of the salad.

  • As someone born an American, to a Christian family, who is today a Muslim... All glory is due to God! 8)

  • I wish there was of a Muslim fraternity as well. Google doesn't come up with anything.

  • You could start one and be associated with theirs.

  • You Muslim people are weird you borne in America and still you are not willing to assimilate. Good luck but don't turn it to Al-Qeda affiliate.

  • What a stupid thing to say. Moron.

  • is this sarcasm?

  • she said shes studying chemicals come on people lets put 2 and 2 together lol only kidding

  • ?????

  • Yeah, Baltimore making the news. WE RULE!!!

Sepratism is not the way to a healthy culture though. Not to mention religion is just ridiculous period. Not that non-religious sororities arent but...

  • Very nice. Good to see that they're breaking the typical stereotype of sororities.

  • and whats wrong with muslim letters...they are more beautiful :)

  • Because Greek is what sororities and fraternities are! I myself would never join one, but otherwise you're just a club.

  • Good point but they always have to be in Greek.

  • That's what I'm saying the Greek letters are what sororities and fraternities are, if you want different language letters than I don't think you're following the standards, from what I know.

  • wow so not being able to be with men like that is a real thing I thought they were joking

  • keep up the good work, may allah show you the right path and be with you. good luck

  • This is what America is supposed to be all about.

  • No America is supposed to be about integration of cultures. A melting pot, not forming exculsive clubs to hang out with just other people like you.

  • And what makes it different from Christian sororities and fraternities?

  • Nothing. Who said I agree with christian fraternities though?

  • The first amendment of the US constitution is "freedom of association" so it is OK to form exclusive clubs.

  • I didn't say it was illegal.

  • OK,I got ya.

And the founding fathers didn't say integration or assimilation is mandatory.

  • What will their frat association be?

  • cool.

  • The bee reminded me of Nahoul.
