  • I live in Livonia, MI. I saw the title, and I was like WTF?

  • Livonia was a rlatively big province that included modern northern Latvia and southern Estonia. It esxisted from 1202 until 1918. In late 1918 partitioned beween newly-formed Latvia and Estonia.

In 1202-1570 together with Courland and nothern Estonia formed the so-called Livonian Confederation - a German-dominated state that included all the territories of modern Estonia and Latvia, plus some smaller chunks of land.

  • After the so-called Livonian wars of 1558-1580 Livonian Confederation ceased to exist and was partitioned between Sweden, Denmark and Lithuania.

  • Swedish-Brandenburg vs Polish-Tatar army.

  • The battle in the Movie is based on the actual battle of Warka on April 7, 1656 & it was never fought in Livonia insted it was fought just a couple of miles from Warsaw.
