The thing of love most about this song is how well it goes with one of the smartest things in harry potter. Harry, Voldemort and Snape all grow up feeling unwanted and abondoned then find a home at hogwarts.
Every time I hear this it makes me cry. Harry was the first person who I ever felt like I could tell my secrets to, and he's come with me since 3rd grade. Without Harry, I wouldn't have followed the path to the one thing that makes my life worth living: my writing. Thank you Harry and thank you Jo, for making me feel that no matter where I am or who I'm with, there's always a place where I know I have a home.

No matter how sad or own i might be, STARKID never fails to make me smile!! If I'm ever having a bad day or feeling depressed, all i have to do is listen to the wonders of STARKID, and i don't feel so alone!!!! <3

If there would be one thing I could change about anything from Starkid... it would be the fact the soundtrack version of this doesn't have the "GRYFFINDOR!" at the end. It loses a lot of its beauty without it.
i find that JK's creation of Hogwarts is very clever in that it taps into the dream of every child, that there is something bigger, better and sparklier than their little world. JK managed, more than any other author, to give children that through Hogwarts - something to dream about that will stay with them - us - all our lives. And if that isn't true magic, I don't know what is.
yeah.. that just made me tear up lol. i wasnt a harry potter maniac as a kid because i never understood anything in the books. but now that im older (18) i understand it more. lol so im starting to get into it. and your totally right. these stories give kids hope, and fuels their imagination. im mean seriously. even at being an adult now i still wish hogwarts was real!... I love all the music in these musicals, but am I the only one who wished they they could have added a music box-type song? You know, something like "I'm Not That Girl" in "Wicked"? A simple, beautiful, quiet song like that never hurt anyone! This came close- also "Those Voices." I'm not saying the songs are bad, I'm just saying that the Starkids have great voices that would sound great in a song like that.

This explains me alot..I may have parents and siblings but I've always felt alone and a outcast..just imagining a place like Hogwarts to have as a home..wow but of course Hogwarts isn't real..well I wish.

I'm going to wait for Pottermore to officailly open in October. I'll be more grateful that way. I love this song. It's like Harry's angst over his parents rolled up into about four minutes. So lovely.

They should have included the Sorting Hat shouting out "GRYFFINDOR!" during the end there. That's what did it for me when I was watching the sequel. Because I know technically Hogwarts was his first HOME, but Gryffindor was his first FAMILY. And didn't the books teach us that where there are friends, there is a home?

@roxinadiva14 for me, i found that some songs from avps are on a very starkid album, and those that arent are on a separate album called 'avps soundtrack' - both should be available on itunes :)

I love all the music in these musicals, but am I the only one who wished they they could have added a music box-type song? You know, something like "I'm Not That Girl" in "Wicked"? A simple, beautiful, quiet song like that never hurt anyone! This came close- also "Those Voices." I'm not saying the songs are bad, I'm just saying that the Starkids have great voices that would sound great in a song like that.
