The monsters were good, apart from Pyramid Head(If you haven't played SH2, play it or watch an LP-I recommend agentjr or mangaminx-to see what PH's really like). The main problem I have is they just made it into another cute-girl-in-clingy-clothes-running-around-screaming thing, when they could have done so much more with the original concept.

I think that he could pull it off, but he wouldn't be the absolute best choice or worst. Somewhere like between the most average choice and best more like it. I choice to ignore everything of his before 'Charlie St. Cloud' really. But in anyway, the only way a remake would work if it was in 2-3 movies, it followed exactly to the original story, and each movie, if it was 2 movies would be 3-4 hours, and if it was 3 movies 2-3 hours. Only way it would work, plus the right and strong acting of all.

Shane Black is directing and he has yet to release anything that wasn't outstanding, from the lethal weapon series to Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. The writers check out too, check them out. @qu7aker Unfortunately, it's not that simple, and I'm not talking about the chance of it happening. See, the guy who wrote the manga is a manga writer, not a movie script writer. His perception of Death Note is in manga format, so he is not suited to write a movie script. This is why we have different types of writers depending on the medium. You'd think it'd make sense to have the original person write the movie, but they are often tainted by their own vision.

Anime is out of the mainstream in the US. Plenty of stars like it, I'm sure, but even if they did not, they'd be expected to say so if they were promoting this movie.

@enemybird The movie ST is from the first three game ST's which are great, so with you on that. The monsters were good, apart from Pyramid Head(If you haven't played SH2, play it or watch an LP-I recommend agentjr or mangaminx-to see what PH's really like). The main problem I have is they just made it into another cute-girl-in-clingy-clothes-running-around-screaming thing, when they could have done so much more with the original concept.

I think that he could pull it off, but he wouldn't be the absolute best choice or worst. Somewhere like between the most average choice and best more like it. I choice to ignore everything of his before 'Charlie St. Cloud' really. But in anyway, the only way a remake would work if it was in 2-3 movies, it followed exactly to the original story, and each movie, if it was 2 movies would be 3-4 hours, and if it was 3 movies 2-3 hours. Only way it would work, plus the right and strong acting of all.

Shane Black is directing and he has yet to release anything that wasn't outstanding, from the lethal weapon series to Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. The writers check out too, check them out. I have faith in this movie, because I have faith in those who are actually creating it, instead of focusing on failed anime adaptations of the past.

@qu7aker Unfortunately, it's not that simple, and I'm not talking about the chance of it happening. See, the guy who wrote the manga is a manga writer, not a movie script writer. His perception of Death Note is in manga format, so he is not suited to write a movie script. This is why we have different types of writers depending on the medium. You'd think it'd make sense to have the original person write the movie, but they are often tainted by their own vision.

Zac is a legitimate actor with some impressive skills to boot. As a HUGE Death Note fan, an American remake is a scary thought, we've seen America botch up anime before.
