  • he looks like a bigger version of steve harvey lol

  • holy shit thats fast

  • One of the very best. :)

  • so good he plays with his eyes closed

  • I think I'm going to start using an office chair for my drum kit.

  • I think he is sleeping.

  • Solo q ele fez é dificil mas ele fez tranquilo

  • if I HAD a drum kit like that I could play like that as well!!! ;)

  • WHAT IS THE CYMBAL ON DENNIS''s FAR RIGHT!!

  • @thug4musik The last one? in the back?

  • @thug4musik I know its a zildjian k custom, i will look into it. Like what kind and size.

  • @LarsThusingDrummer .. It has to be an Prototype... it looks like it can be a '18 or '19 .. the silver looking cymbals on his FAAAR riight....not the K Crash

  • He's so chilled in his chair

  • seriously my last name is chambers and even though im white I hope that maybe there is a posibility im related to this guy

  • how does he keep tht wtf ?

  • psh. VHS Stereo. haven't heard of that in a long time.

  • see great groove: /watch?v=sTMjT6YsyXk

  • esta man es un fuera de serie!!!!!!!

  • Why Are There All These Other Drummers Being Mentioned - I Thought This Particular Vid Was About Dennis - If You Like Someone Else Better Go Watch Them - Don't Down Grade Dennis Chambers On A Dennis Chambers Video.

  • does anyone know what snare this is?

  • @TheCoitionsDrummerGu it is his own signature snare made by Pearl.

  • @drumsanddrumming Thanks.

  • @TheCoitionsDrummerGu I own one.

  • @drumsanddrumming It sounds excellent, how much did you spend new?

  • @TheCoitionsDrummerGu well.. I live in Sweden, bought it second hand- around 500 usd.

  • Who can play this meter with their EYES CLOSED? NOBODY!! DENNIS FOR PRESIDENT!!

  • if you watch very closely, you can actually see that Dennis Chambers only has two arms and two legs.

  • Rodney Holmes is very good too

  • the 76 people who dislike this have no sense at all!

  • The DVD of his ... Master Drummer is on special for only $5 on his site ... cool!

  • Dennis' dvd is on sale for $4.95 on his site ... hd download ... 2.5 hours of killer jams and interviews!

  • 76 people listen to metal... only metal :)

  • I didn't know Willie Stargell played the drums so well

  • i saw him live, a little over a year ago. he still has it. except he used the third floor tom to hold his coat

  • Imagine what he does when he's AWAKE.

  • dennis chambers: MY NIGGA

  • Most of these guys just dont cut the mustard when it comes to comparison when it comes to chops. Take a whirl at marco minnemann. Hes got equal chops and you get the benefit of a more technically oriented drummer who provides greater accuracy and variation.

  • Is he doing this in his sleep????

  • My favorite drummers. not because they're great players but because they have style that I like.

    David Garibaldi -tower of power-

    Neil Peart -rush

    Neil Sanderson -three days grace

    Chad szeliga- breaking benjamin

    carter beauford- DMB

  • fags really gonna trash barker? rele? its not his fault that people overrate him sometimes... hes a sick drummer... obviously not as good as dennis chambers... but they play two different styles,,, just shut up honestly there both amazing... stop comparing two different styles of music

  • 1: Stewart Copeland

    2: John Bonham

  • Dave Weckl, Vinnie Colaiuta, Tony Royster Jr., Jojo Mayer and the one and only Buddy Rich. Who is that Travis Barker?

  • 3:57 starts the most syncopated drum beat of all time

  • @TheNethero This guy... plays 5 beats with 2 arms and legs... somethings not adding up here.

  • @TheNethero I understand this solo doesn't seem to complicated, (because it isnt fast) but in fact this is very hard to play. I was just wondering, how can someone tell when a groove is actually really complicated?

  • @dwayne515 Most of the video he's just got his feet in auto-pilot while he noodles away at the kit, but the beat I mentioned was the only instant of a consistent beat in the whole video. What's so complicated is that while his feet are keeping a constant rhythm, each of his hands are playing different beats in totally different time signatures and tempos which is the equivalent of having 3 brains. That's what's so complicated about it.

  • @TheNethero ah ok thanks:) , I spent a good 3 hours last night researching about polymeters and polyrhythms. There's alot to these drummers than most people actually realise!

  • @TheNethero Holy crap, you're not lying!

  • @TheNethero Yeah, Sounds so simple to the layman but he really is doing 4 different beats at the same time

  • @therealmotherphuck Exactly! Usually an Average Joe will be amazed by heavy accenting and overall body motion in general whether or not it's something the drummer could actually repeat. Anyone who's actually sat in front of a drum kit before with sticks in their hand might understand what the REAL hard part is.

  • navene koperweis

  • all of it done with his eyes closed nearly the whole time. at least it looks like his eyes are closed.

  • OMG is Cleavland Brown

  • look at 0:18 tony royster behind! jaja

  • Good stuff. Check out Buddy Rich with the Tonight Show Band with Doc Severensen playing "We'll Get it." (on Youtube).

  • I think. Dennis change my drumming from oldfashion realtime to the "Fast Forward Story". Coming back soon with 14 mic studio recording on big acoustic Slingerland. Tribute copy to Dennis as a Brain Artist.

  • I guess it doesnt matter how good you get at drums. Even if you are the best in the the world some jealous idiot will try and say something bad about your drumming.

  • comparing drummers is stupid

  • I don't get what's so special.... Sure he is fast on the snare but that's all he is does at the beginning, tapping speedily on the snare while throwing in a few toms and cymbals. Towards the middle he gets better, and towards the end he gets worse, but this will not leave a lasting impression on me. 3:30 to the end was just boring.

  • @dragonmaster12987 Dud u dont know a shit about drums do u? Do u know or can play any parradile , rudiments or ghosts notes that hes playing? I think u cant and u dont know a shit. If ur looking for a drummer that throws the sticks on the air and catch it , go to a fucking circus!!!!! Dennis is one (not saying the best) best drummers on the damn world. If u know something about drumming u would no be talking all that crap "I don't get what's so special..." go to sleep dud....

  • @METALERO31192 Dude chill the fuck out. that's just my opinion. If you think he is awesome im not going to tell you he isnt. It's just TO ME, I prefer other drummers.

  • @dragonmaster12987 Lol , ok just saying :)

  • If I compared speed and volume, George Kollias comes to mind. Before people start looking up videos of gk and getting pissed off, they play different genres so in a way they can't be compared. Dennis is fast but I personally like George more. Dennis's speed seems to come off in bursts, but George can just keep going.. their different genres might just have them play that way, though. Discussing out loud so it sounds fair. I think George is better, not that it matters. Just IMO

  • What the f**k is this ?... This is a solo?. It makes me sleep.

  • Not to knock other drummer's (if they've made it somewhere they must be talented) but its pretty easy to see that Dennis could play as loud and fast as a Travis Barker or Chad Smith type.

But do you think they could play as soft and subtle as Dennis Chambers does, at times? ...Thats why he's one of the best

  • I'm not a blink or travis fan, but I really like some of his grooves, their kinda... i dunno, they sound pretty linear to me XD

  • btw Porcupine Tree drummer could come near this man....? Anyone agree? :P I'm not a drum expert...

  • @Glycerin50 Yes, Gavin Harrison is an excellent drummer...

  • Never seen a drummer with that much emotion

  • Mike Mangini too.

  • best drummers for me: Neal Peart, Mike Portnoy, Gavin Harrison, Jojo Mayer, Chad Smith, Dennis Chambers.

  • this guys is good but i prefer the song remains the same dvd that holds the ever immortal drum solo by john bonam (not sure on the bonam spelling) not saying this guy isnt good just prefer the phrases and the variations. in that particular solo. this solo gets a bit same-ish and lacks creativity in some parts but again its just an oppinion

  • hey, just by readin that post I looked him up, and WOW WOW WOW FREAKING COOL

  • Half that shit was played with his eyes closed!

  • Is he sleep drumming??

  •

    Speed Kills

    watch?v=7sjgvylvF5E

  • I like the way he hits the crash at 3:28. It's like he's saying "yeah, fuck you"

  • His eyes aren't even open!

  • That chair reminds me of the time I placed my nutts on Mr. Chambers drumset...fuckin a

  • Just another day at the office for Dennis!

  • My favorite drum solo EVAR!!

  • Don't forget Narada Michael Walden!

  • i know chambers is great but he is also boring

  • I find Chambers' soloing...though explosive...patently unmusical and rhythmically unimaginative.

  • @Easleytee

    everyone to his own right?

  • Hey Ugsto - Vinnie Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Buddy Rich, Art Blakey, Rod Morgenstein, Billy Cobham, Simon Phillips,....I could do this all day....Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Will Kennedy, Peter Erskine, Jack DeJohnette, Dave Garibaldi, Mark Craney, Terry Bozzio, ....even that kid Elias Casagrandes...AND....VIRGIL DONATI's Feet all by themselves!!!

  • My dad stores this exact drum kit in his wearhouse.

  • TO EVERYONE ON THIS POST....TO THE IDIOT THAT MENTIONED travis barker's name in the same sentence as dennis chambers, i should slap you with a tampon...travis barker? you are kidding right , anyone name 5 drummers in the world that are better than this man...and im not talking to the kids or ppl that only listens to one drummer i'm talking to the people that knows drumming, that can visually and audibly hear and see what dennis does compared to others in the world,, name them now

  • @Emagick77 i can name one, buddy :)

  • @mathewcolfardrums..Buddy who?..Buddy Rich?....brah im talking bout drummers that are still playing.....buddy rich is a legend...im talking to the idiot that put travis barker name in the same sentence as dennis chambers...travis barker is not an elite drummer

  • @Emagick77 There are not five but i could name two or three that are up there with him 1. gavin harrison, 2. dave weckl, 3. marcus baylor, 4 will kennedy.

  • @Emagick77 U're right about Travis Barker. Now, even if I looove Dennis Chambers, I'm going to give you 5 names: Mike Mangini, Vinnie Colaiuta, Terry Bozzio, Steve Gadd and Thomas Lang. What do u think? I can't say they're better but they are undoubtedly as crazy as Mr. Chambers is...

  • @Emagick77 Vinnie Colaiuta gives Dennis a run for his money as far as sheer ridiculousness - but I think Vinnie has way better phrasing - and yeah, Travis Barker can't even be mentioned in the same paragraph

  • @Emagick77 travis orbin, gavin harrison are good drummers, about on the same level.

  • @Emagick77

Not that I am against you, but just naming other greats; Deen Castronova, Steve Smith, Chris Frazier, Atma Anur and a few more

    I loved DC with CAB

  • @Emagick77 only seen this post this morning so apologies for takin me so long to name 5.. first 5 off the top of my head dennis chambers, jojo mayer, steve gadd, dave weckl, tony royster jnr, aaron spears, the great buddy rich, vinny colaiuta, neil peart... oh wait you only said 5.. my bad!! but i could keep goin :P

  • @Emagick77

Danney Carey, Dave Brubeck, Gary Chafee, Thomas Lang, Neil Pert, Bernard Purdie, Steve Gadd, Jojo Meyer, Dave Weckl, Buddy Rich, Billy Cobham, Horacio Hernandez... I could go on, but basically you get it.

  • @lostlov30 dave brubeck was a pianist, his most famous drummer was joe morello.

  • @Emagick77 Hey Travis Barker may be young, but he is HELL of a drummer. like a joey jordison. Fast, and can play seveeral types of music. Im a drummer myself, i like Dave Lambardo, Nicko Mcbrain, Lars Ulrich. All Metal Drummers, So if you listen to new generation rock you would like Travis Barker. You dont have to say hes bad.

  • @MFSK8Enertainment you're an idiot. Just by stating you like "All Metal Drummers", you're showing how narrow your perspective is. And a bad view is not one worth looking from. Basically GTFO.

  • @ishyboy1993 By that i meant i respect all metal drummers, and it just takes different talent, your showing how YOUR perspective is narrow. by hating on Travis Barker, which is a talented drummer. and you know i can name 5 drummers better than him, in my opinion though. But i cant really say them seeing that their metal drummers and he isnt. so i cant compare them. think about what im saying you dick.

  • @Emagick77 Chris Adler

  • @Spence233 The Lamb of God drummer? Are you kidding me?

  • @SpiZZyWeZZy are YOU kidding me?

  • @Emagick77 Neil Pert and Danny Carry.

    need 3 more guys.

  • @Emagick77 P.S I'd also like to nominate Steve Jordan.

  • @Emagick77 OMG travis barker and Dennis Chambers on the same sentence?

This is kind of forbidden thing, this is almost a sacrilege! Please dude, don't do it again for God's sake!

  • @Emagick77 Dude, it's totally opinionated. I can name at least ten drummers than I personally think have more skill, but that doesn't objectively make then better. There's so many things that determine how "good" a drummer is. For example, I think Chad Szeliga is one of the most tasteful drummers out there, and he's got the chops to back it up, but he doesn't have the technical proficiency of someone like Chambers. See what I mean? You really can't compare overall, especially in separate genres.

  • @Emagick77 Who is "the best" is very subjective, but I can name some drummers that are equally amazing. 1 Vinnie Colaiuta 2 Dave Weckyl 3 Benny Greb 4 Aaron Spears 5 Keith Carlock 6 Jojo Mayer 7 Ronald Bruner Jr 8 Tony Royster Jr 9 Thomas Lang 10 Thomas Pridgen
  • @Emagick77 Benny Greb (that's just opinion but ) and maybe Dave Weckl or Vinnie Colaiuta haha i can't get 5 in this style bro

  • @Emagick77 I can't name five, but definitely check out philly jo jones, papa jo jones and max roach, drummers get their inspiration from somewhere.

  • @Emagick77 I would also love to know your opinion on Danny Carey. Complete drumming mathematician!

  • Comment removed

  • @Emagick77 I agree with what you say but now because of you "his" name will be at the very top of this page for a very long time and i would prefer to never see "his" name. thank you for that -.-

  • @Emagick77 could name a couple in the same league...but seriously...It is hard to think of anyone better straight up. And whoever mentioned Travis Barker...I honestly laughed when I read someone thought that he could even come close to Dennis Chambers.

I would say people that could possibly get close to Dennis Chambers are Thomas Pridgen, Mike Portnoy, Derek Roddy, Neil Peart...can't think of any others at the minute.

So on that..I couldn't name 5 and am not even certain about those being better

  • @Emagick77 Mike Portnoy, Buddy Rich, Thomas Pridgen, Danny Carey, and Neil Peart

  • @Emagick77 OK there's no such thing as better in music but here goes: Akira Jimbo, George Kollias, Billy Cobham, doramriku and Tony Royster Jr (at 12 years old, check out Tony Royster Jr. crazy drum solo on youtube) hahaha. Yeah but Dennis is the man, no doubt.

  • @ybon003 Actually it's dorUmriku, with a U.

  • @Emagick77 I just can tell more than 5 drummers that can be compared to Sir Chambers, but with different types of drumming: Dave Weckl, JoJo Mayer, Billy Cobham, Vinnie Colaiuta, Kim Thompson (yup, a girl), Benny Grebb, Dom Famularo, and a lot of other great drummers that can't be compared.

That kind of "big" should only be inspiration for us to study more and improve our drumming.

Every stupid talking about who is better than who is just a waste of time that we could spend on the drumset.

  • Comment removed

  • @Emagick77 dennis chambers, dave weckl, mike portnoy, jojo mayer, andrea vadrucci

  • @Emagick77 Travis Barker needs no more mention. His name is now erased. I remember watching him do a drum solo, he couldn't even hold his fucking beat. Besides, how good could he get if he learned off the drumming of LARS, HAHAHA

  • @Emagick77

Well I think the only person on this planet that could be on the same level as dennis is Dave Weckl....but I'm not really sure...

  • @Emagick77 I'd say Carter Beauford and Jeff Porcaro. But I wouldn't call them "better". They're all as good as it gets.

  • @Emagick77 Would love Dennis and Carter Beaufort do a little something together. Precision and class.

  • @Emagick77 I love you.

  • @Emagick77

Terry bozzio, JoJo mayer, chad whickerman, george koalis, and derek roddy are a few off the top of my head.

but this guy is amazing, it doesn't matter who's a "better" drummer, they're all doing something they like enjoy and have a lot of fun entertaining us.

  • What I like about his drumming is that he's always so relaxed, as if anyone could put down his grooves.

  • 2:33 = Awesome fill right there!

  • wha a snare ;( i would eat it

  • i know this is a great display of skill and theres always a place for this in drumming but its so god damn boring. My opinion of course but i love to hear some grooves in a solo.

  • this totally wipes out tony's solo...this guys tellin a story man

  • Oh sweet K Custom Darks

  • he turned this ordinary piece of bread that's in my hand, into toast...

  • he is a beast, anybody who think's otherwise is tone death. stop hating get to his level......

  • @funkydrummer247 Tone Deaf* but yeah your right bra

  • anyone notice he has his eyes closed?

  • @demigoduriah tbh i thought he was jus lookin down, then i saw his face 0.o SHOCKED DONT EVEN COME CLOSE WHEN I REALISED!!!!

  • BEAUTIFUL!

  • Still not as good as Briant Mills!!

  • @T7417 Who's Briant? I never seen him on over 3000 recordings or any tours before....

  • @T7417 who are you? and who have you played for that is even worth menchoning.

  • @andrben So have I. I'm from Baltimore and I've seen him play plenty of times whenever he's in town visiting his family. he's very dynamic he can play the quietest most swinging stuff and the heavy funkiest grooves if he chooses whenever the music calls for it.

I prefer drummers who have a great dynamic feel not just one volume.

  • @Moog168 look up joey jordanson drum solo!

  • @unholyfreak123 LOLOLOLOL Cool story Bro hahahahaha....

  • @andrben ???? You can't be serious!

He has a great touch behind the kit and he's very dynamic. I've see drummers BASH into their drums including Dennis but the music called for it.

Dennis was not playing hard in this solo.

  • this guy drums in his sleep 3:43

  • Chambers is one of the meanest drummers around. It's as though he's got more than one brain man!!! Incredible talent!

  • Wow the old school recliner rack. I think that lasted about a day and a half.

  • is good by -tomy aldrige play better drums solos

  • 3:35-end is the hardest thing technically I've EVER seen any drummer do

  • the monster of druns

  • the limb independence is awesome! I mean anyone can play fast with practice but it takes a genius to do that kind of playing that he did at the end.

  • He`s pretty good!

  • The isolation is just plain nasty!!! Dude is the best hands down

  • One of the best drummer after many years of groove ^^

(sorry for my bad english i'm french)

Take a look of my drumming ^^

  • i love how he's into what he's playing....it's like me when i play, he's one of my favorites.

  • 3:53 poly rhythm = brain fuck

  • he is very smooth but i still enjoy tony royster jr more

  • ENJOY! :D 100 Most Skilled Drummer (Live Videos) - /watch?v=9aiY9lrIklM

  • a office chair... Really?

  • good good

  • good good

  • Insane! I keep coming back for 4:00 and onward. Just what on earth is he doing!? Channeling the kundalini? Has he reached enlightenment??? D. Chambers is the Bodhisattva of drumming.

  • I didnt know he has a moustache!!

  • This is my favorite of his solos, and I think it is one of his most musical.

  • I think Dennis has been practicing a lot...

  • What's so special here is his use of note placement. Where he puts the accented notes and such. Dennis is one of the best, no doubt.

  • whats funny is the Buddy Rich clinic video where he explains that you can't roll fast enough around toms using MATCH grip, well mr Rich, please check out DC and you can see you were very wrong!

  • @zerekx he's dead...i doubt he's going to be watching dennis chambers very soon.

  • @julianisdope Oh I know, but he should still check out DC from his crypt...

  • Dennis is not the "best" drummer of all time. If thats the case, Dennis is "better" than Bernard Purdie, Clyde Stubblefield, Carlton Barrett ect because he is alot more technically knowledgeable. If music was "rated" by technical finesse, then yes, Dennis chambers & Thomas Lang are the "Best" drummers of all time. and Yngwie malmsteen is the best guitarist too. Grow up wankers
