@t8035 another car had caught on fire. Two officials ran across the track with fire extinguishers. One made it across, but the other was hit by Tom Pryce. The fire extinguisher hit him in the head and killed him. His car continued down the track before crashing into another car and then a wall. There are a couple videos of the accident on youtube, but they are quite gory.
just so everyone knows... if youre confused about why you see ronnie peterson clearly concious and awake when they were taking him on the stretcher, its because his injuries did not kill him-- he had a blood clot kill him from fat embolism entering his blood vessel in his broken leg. no doctors were around when that happened. he was sleeping anyways. he basically suffocated from being clogged up in his arteries.
The journey to today's levels of safety and performance has cost such a high price. May they rest in peace and let us all be greatful for their sacrifice.
@Hotspur2001 my friend, that's incorrect. in those day's there where 2 qualifyings. on friday and saturday. Roland crashed on qualifying on saturday. Becausse of this Ayrton Senna did not continue the session. his fastest time on friday however was enough for pole....
I'm glad that senna was the last of the list of deaths from the formula 1, I am a big fan of F1 and I do not like to see another pilot died, is a disgrace that you can not do anything about it but to take all precautions and not make the slightest mistake, that's all I can say
So sad to see all the men who died driving in motor races. I guess they all died doing something they desperately wanted to do and we should respect them for that. RIP to them all.
@joeyabbs87 With al due respect...but don't call em stupid..those guy's were brave and, in fact, didn't know any better....Whe tend to think that modern F1 is safe, but is it really? Is driving the fastest cars in the world ad and sometimes beyond its designed capability ever really gonna be safe?...no...
@Neilen91183 yeh i suppose your right. f1 is much safer these days but your right it can never be completely safe especially as the drivers head is still exposed. the marshal who was diving about on the montreal circuit the other day can also concider himself very lucky
@joeyabbs87 Glad you see my point. And indeed, that marshall was very very very lucky..And altough it looked kinda amateuristic, and it maybey even whas, it is human and always possible that in some sort of cruel way, fate desides that someone makes a very strange decision or makes a mistake, that ends human lives..especially at speeds of 200+ mph....Every F1 driver or Fan that thinks that fatal crashes is something of the past, will soon have a very rude wake up call....
@Neilen91183 yo when he said ''unbeliveable how stupid people used to be'' i hardly think he was talking about the drivers. stupid people were and still is, the F1 oficials. that require people to die in order to make things safer. aand like you said.. is it really safe?.... ps.. senna.. wish you hadnt died that day. Brazil misses you. a LOT,
@joeyabbs87 Nothing is really safe, nothing ever will be safe, even with modern tech, there will always be something that could kill, alls it take is a tiny slip up from a car (wether this is a bolt getting to luse or the wing falling off) its very unlikely but someone in f1 could die today, there driving 200mph cars on a narrow track with 24 other drivers, take lewis hamilton and kobayshis crash in spa i think it was, lewis could of easily been seriously hurt, racing is all about luck
still clark was a f1 driver,he must have been included, whatever he ws an f1 driver died on track, whatevah car he was racing at that time, his life was 4 racing...
@Neilen91183 yeaa sorry when i did some more research he didnt lost his headd cuz i think when david purley(F1 driver who stopped tto save Roger williamson) tried to save him,he coud hear roger williamson screaming for help!David Purley's got one big heart ;(

tastefully done, which is a rare thing on youtube. too many great drivers have lost their lives over the years, at least safety is now taken seriously. jackie stewart has said on many occasions that if you were an f1 driver when he was, and raced for as long as he did,8 seasons at f1, you stood a 3 in 5 chance of having been killed racing or testing. obviously back then the drivers raced in various formula while racing f1, but that's worse chance than if you were called up for either ww1 or ww2.
roger williamson is the saddest crash in HISTORY!!! his friend gets out of his car to help save his friends life, hearing him scream burning to death with the car upside down while the rescue team doesn't show and spectators watching...sad day..
music matched well, im from the states and i still have great admiring of f1 racing. truly sad that f1 would push the cars to the limit on tracks that aren't for safety. R.I.P to all f1 drivers who have died it would be nice to update the video with born and death dates for an actual view of how old most of the drivers actually were...many were young...much respect for the making of this video and all the drivers who died for our entertainment.

Well at least now the cars are getting a lot safer this is the biggest period of time without a death since the first death. So lefts just hope we won't see any more.
some of those images were really graphic.....but sadly this is the risks that all F1 drivers take every time they go out and do a race even to day....R.I.P. all of you

It's called Lux Aeterna, can also be found when you search for 'Reguiem For A Dream. It shouldn't be too hard to find.
