  • For me, I enjoy extra activities while listening. I love "blasting" my music when I drive around. It creates a cadence around me and pumps up my emotions. Not everyone has to "LISTEN to the music", but feel it. The whole wearing the music is a bit of a stretch. You make it seem like you can sum up the character of a person by how they might supposedly "wear" or not "wear" their music. Thanks for your opinion though!

  • agreed

  • The guy in this video is "almost" 100% right except, some people like me like to blast music because I just like music and I turn the music down when im in a jam packed area so I can hear whats going on.

  • Id have to disagreee, craig ur the man in many ways u have alot of very ligit vids, but i love my bass thats the music that i like to sit and listen to. I like my ear drums to vibrate but ill also pump classic, jazz, country what ever i like it loud and bassy so well thats me, so once again u cant just catorgerise friend.

    happy brewing from winnipeg man

  • your a lonely guy craig

  • Not at all. I wonder what makes you think that way. I have a wife, kids, many friends who call and visit. Please don't take offense to this, but don't blame me for pointing something out that might make you feel uncomfortable, or question what you do. I took a risk when posting a video like that. I accept that risk, but you can't start assuming things about me because you don't agree, or you feel I've hit a nerve.

  • I respect your opinion, but don't claim to know why I don't drive, or that I'm lonely when you really don't know enough about me to make those assumptions.

All that said, thanks for watching and commenting. I am not offended in any way. Cheers.

  • im sorry craig i ment to say are you a lonely guy, sorry about the blindness, maybe you like the silence around you when your family is in the car, cause when i lived with my Dad and my big brother little sister and little brother there were way more times when the music was quiet, except when a good song came on but usually we talked as a family, its 3:42am i went to the gym after work droped off my sisters BF, on my way home at around 3am windows up i still had my musioc load though

  • Well, it's obvious that you are one of the few people that listens to music for the RIGHT reason, not just to broadcast "audible testosterone" to the pedestrians.

  • i also think your afraid to drive your a fairly middle aged man and dont drive, people also turn the radio on because then theres no awkwaard silence when nobodies talkin, there is also traffic reports and weather conditions

  • I don't drive because I'm legally blind. My wife drives and we enjoy the peace and quiet in the car. Silence should not be awkward. It's a time to think to one self, to look around and take stuff in. I know that people have trouble with silence. It means they are afraid that the other person thinks that they aren't cool enough to know what to say. And if silence is awkward when you're alone, I'm not sure what's going on there. I personally enjoy silence. It allows me to think and be creative.

  • talking about seeking attention you craig you have a million videos with good arguments, but i feel maybe you are seeking attention, you dont own a car yet are judging on this topic no offence but that just doesnt look good, its kinda like a soldier going to war and getting back saying how bad it was and you saying if i was a soldier it wouldnt be hard for me yet your not a soldier, but please dont take this to any offence

  • If I am seeking attention, and maybe deep down I am, I am only getting it from those who CHOOSE to watch my videos and comment. I am not an attention seeker who -forces- people to pay attention, even when they don't want to. My goal is to share with those who wish to receive what I offer, and not to piss off those who would rather not listen.

  • i mostly disagree, here is why, ive got a load system in my car i drive a suped up honda civic, i listen to rock punk, rap hiphop, even country, i listen to my music load in my car, it keeps me excited, makes me happy when im driving to work, to start me off to a better day, it actually keeps me more aware of whats going on around me, i listen to my music load wherever i go highway or city, the kind of music depends on my mood, you may ask why i drive a suped up honda i race and a great hobby,

  • Good analysis on how people feel the need to project themselves.

  • I wear my pj's out all the time lmao that's how much i care about my persona ;)

  • Dude , I'm one of these people you talk about , 2 12 inch subs in the back of a hatch back. I pump around my city with the windows down because i simply don't care what other people think of me and do what I want.

Whenever i go on a country drive (australian bush) I will pump the whole drive, 4 hours with not another person around to hear. So what does this say about your arguement mate? DEBUNKED!

  • Obviously you didn't notice the note at the beginning of the video. It's not debunked. You are in the minority. Read the note.

  • i feel ya i like the music loud

  • Hi. I feel you do make some great and valid points. But I must comment that I crank my music. As much as I can. If I am disturbing someone, they can tell me.I will turn it down. I am passionate about music. I feel it! Its that I NEED to feel the rhythm. I love to feel the beat. I love the base to vibrate my body. I feel the beat in my soul! I dont wear my music. You must agree that musical rhythms penetrate your soul.

  • Absolutely. I crank my music as well, and love to feel the base. But you and I are listening to music for a different reason than most of society. It's self serving for us. For many others, judging by the kind of "music" they listen to, it's just a statement they're making rather than a deeply felt experience.

  • I see your point and agree. I am ok when a spacific point is made. But I tend to get a bit reved up when general statements are made as if to say..EVERYONE who blasts music is wearing their music. I see your point, thanx

  • I put a small disclaimer at the beginning of the video. That should take care of there being any risk of pointing fingers at everyone.

  • agreed with u dude 100% meh 2 so what ever they say that ur idea and ur personality have fun

  • I agree with you 100% Craig. I live in a nice neighborhood but fairly close to the street and by a stop light so I get a lot of idiots sitting outside of my house thumping away at all hours. Sometimes I feel like I just might explode. It's not an age thing either, I'm 26 years old.

  • I know we have had the "wearing it" discussion many times over the years and that was a great rundown on it right there. One thing though, and this was a natural slip from years of training and propaganda I know but, you seem to imply that things are banned because they're dangerous and we both know the govt. doesn't give a rat's ass about our safety or they wouldn't be trying to kill us with fluoride, plastic containers, GMO foods and the like. It's just psychological subservience training.

  • now i do say, i kinda look like a hippy, and i know that if you saw me drive by in my jeep with my subs blairing you would probably do this whole thing of where i need attention. but dont always say this before you know the person. i dont try being somebody, i am myself. nobody else. i dont give a rats ass bout what many people care, aslong as it doesnt affect me. all that stuff.

  • i godda say. i love all types of music. three concerts... rancid was one, reel big fish/ streetlight manefesto was another, and rise against yet again. plus free bon jovi tickits. but i love music. i play bass. but i have a pretty good sound system in my house, im in electronics courses going into electronic engeneering. i love doing this stuff. its fun for me to hook it all up. i also like to show off that i can do it. now i really only listen to hiphop/rap to show off.

  • I agree 100%! Thanks for the vid response, Craig!

  • I'd say Craig is right on the money with the pheromone analogy . Not often do Females use sound to mark territory . Weather a guy in his monster truck blastin Garth Brooks or dude with his license plate rattling to Wu-Tang , No amount rational debating can stop the power of testosterone . Some of us are ruled by it, some not so much.

  • I'm a guy, and I don't see any point in disturbing the peace. Blasing music is a show-off technique, I'm not sure it has so much to do with testosterone; although, you've made some excellent points.

  • I think "show-off" is the point. I think certain ones of us (me included) fall into more of a cerebral category ,while others a macho extroverted category. Either group can have difficulty understanding why the other is stimulated by what stimulates them.

  • Yes, I agree. Of course I'm speaking in general terms. Everyone gets giddy when a great song comes on. There's a couple of Van Halen and AC/DC tunes that do that to me. I'm mainly referring to the "sub woofer - hip hop - rap" crowd who can't possibly be gaining emotionally from that music. They're just wearing it.

  • Oh of course, I'd agree with you there totally. I can't think of any reason why a subwoofer is necessary to enjoy music in a car unless you're trying to get attention. They just shake the shit out of the car and make things rattle and it sounds horrible. Regular woofers do the job just fine and I agree totally that people should keep the volume at a reasonable level, more so in busy inner city traffic where being aware of sounds around you is more vital to safe driving.

  • While I think you're right in the case of many people this isn't always the case. Sometimes you're just driving and you've got a song playing that you just have to listen to loud. You'd listen to it loud whether you were in a busy city street or out on a country road where there's no one around to hear it. I'm not saying it's a wise idea, but it does happen. Luckily I don't have a working stereo in my car, so I'm always aware of what's going on around me.

  • Have to agree with you there PoliticalExile2. I don't own a flashy car nor am I a young person. I like to listen to music while driving, though not normally loud. But sometimes a good song comes on and you just have to crank the volume up. Some songs just don't sound the same unless they are loud. But I do agree with Craig's comments on those who 'wear' their music. It is just attention seeking, and I am sure any psychologist would agree totally with his comments.
